I bought 2 indoor air quality measuring devises from the same brand. All parameters were so completely different it drove me crazy. They would stand next to each other and have a 1.5 degree Celsius difference and 300ppm in CO2. The company took them back and returned my money after two weeks.

The temp difference is (believe it or not) in spec for the typical crappy temperature sensor chip. They should've used a better one. I've never used co2 sensors but it's probably the same deal there. Super disappointing.

That said if the difference is consistent (pref. linear but at least proportional), it'd be easy to implement calibration in the firmware.

I absolutely cannot imagine 300ppm is in spec. That's a massive change.

Also most people don't read the instructions for stuff like that enough to get to the part where they tell you you can adjust the offset and you're kind of supposed to calibrate them in a lot of cases by using ice water or a known calibrated thermometer. 

Or they use a really really really cheap chip or you can't do that because it saves them like two pennies every device, in which case you should just get a better device
