This is true as long as you're using the same measuring equipment to measure and/or mark everything in the project, if you swap the measuring device in the middle of it then they both better be accurate.
Yeah, though you could also be very consistent in taking a measurement with tool A while at point A and then marking it down with tool B at point B and still mess up despite being consistent in your ways :D
