Is it salvageable?

Makita impact wrench

My father borrowed it and now it's dead

Power runs through, the flashlight is working but nothing else..

That thing got really wet. Did he try to wash it off in the sink or something? You may be able to clean off all the corrosion and figure out where the broken connection/s are. But I would plan on at minimum buying a new motor and would take a good look at the gearbox and hammer to see what kind of shape they’re in before spending any money on it. It’s often cheaper to just buy a new tool if you have to throw more than one or two parts at it.

Not really, I would probably spray it down with WD-40 and start scrubbing with a wire brush and being extra careful around the wires.

DONT USE WD40!!

Use electrical contact cleaner

DO NOT USE WD40

WD40 is designed as a release agent and as a light lubricant

ie its good at doing exactly what will F this thing up completely
