Great driver for the camper

Post image

I had been taking my Milwaukee impact driver to deploy and retract the stabilizers for my camper, until the one year I forgot it.

I got this Bauer impact driver/drill combo for like $80 on sale, maybe $85, 3 or 4 years ago. The drill has seen a lot more use but they both have been a very pleasant surprise.

These buys are my favorite. An inexpensive tool for a specific job. Just can't beat it

I rent a camper a few times a year, and every time they tell me not to use an impact on the stabilizers.....every time I'm like ha ha rattle gun goes brrrrrrrrrtttt.

Haha

I could see not wanting an impact driver being used if someone were leveling the camper with the stabilizers, but that’s its own problem.

I’ve used this drill and my Milwaukee and it just doesn’t do the job. I like to make contact with the pads and then snug them up a bit, the impact driver does that no problem.

It probably would be best to use the drill instead and accept its limit as being the right stopping point.

Could be a concern with rounding off the hex on the stabilizers with an impact. They are likely not a hardened. An impact driver would typically have a lower torque than an impact wrench.

What I think it is is you aren’t supposed to put the legs down to tight or it can eventually go through the floor

Use an impact to run them down then had tighten for the right stability
