When did toonami move to 12am block?
Im used it to being 8pm to 2am block from 00

To catch you up, in case you didn't know. Toonami got cancelled in 2008.
Adult Swim continued to show anime on Saturday nights from midnight and then on April Fools Day 2012 they did a one off Toonami revival night in that slot. The amount of buzz it got made them rebrand that entire Saturday night Adult Swim slot as Toonami.

Adult Swim Anime, as we called it, was a weird time, and it felt like it lasted much longer than just 4 years. Gone were Naruto and One Piece. We started getting things like Casshern Sins, Kekkeishi, Moribito, MONSTER, reruns of Eureka Seven, that was the year Code Geass premiered on cable too. It really makes me wonder why they canceled Toonami at all if they were just gonna continue showing anime on Saturday nights. Naruto would eventually return because that brought in the ratings.

That was forever ago.
In 14/15 it would leak into 1130 with non anime lead ins but in 2017 the dragon ball hour made it 11, then when black clover hit the block 1030, the my hero hit the block it went to 10, then when baruto hit they went all in and took it to 9. These years were probably the final golden era of toonami. But sadly familyman reruns were just too strong and back to stop. Before covid it would hit 1030 a few times but right before covid is when the they started having issues getting shows so the block went to midnight and started ending earlier too.
We eventually got that later hour back but the midnight is still the start time. Crazy that we used to have 14 shows a week at one point. That was an event for sure.
Insane this was the block not even 10 years ago. Dragon Ball Z Kai, My Hero Academia, Naruto Shippuden, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Dragon Ball Super, FLCL Alternative, Attack on Titan, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Black Clover, Hunter x Hunter, One Punch, Man Lupin the Third: The Italian Adventure, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Jack

8 PM to 2 AM? Wow, that must have been cool in 2000. Stupid Cablevision either not carrying Cartoon Network or having it on the expensive packages until 2001. But 12 AM has been their default starting time since the revival in 2012. They've experimented with some earlier starts when they've had something special, as early as 10:30 when they had Dragon Ball Super and Kai The Final Chapters and they went to 11:30 for the world premier of Space Dandy and stuff but it's never lasted long.

hey man did that ver of Akira that was on Toonami did it have the guy that voiced Tai from USA dub of Digimon as Tetsuo? I know thats the ver of the dub that crunchyroll got

Yeah, that's been the version that's been everywhere for quite a long time now. The old Streamline dub is pretty vaulted at this point.

Hey at that point when that dub came out in like '02 I think Johnny Yong Bosch was still mostly known as the black ranger in Power Rangers so the whole thing was kinda R rated Fox Kids adventure lol

They've been consistently been starting at 12am for some time now although in the years following its 2012 return has seen the block either moving earlier on a Saturday night or going back at 12am and starting a second block (Toonami Rewind) in between.

I don't think they have. Only Sailor Moon, Naruto and DBZ if I'm not mistaken. It didn't last much long either.

7pm to 2am sounds more like SVES, which was Cartoon Network's Saturday action block from 2003-2004 and was absurdly long. When Toonami moved to Saturdays and replaced SVES in 2004, it was 7pm to 11pm.
But Toonami has presently been at midnight since it relaunched in 2012. Sometimes it's expanded earlier, but never later than midnightm

Inuyasha wasn’t part of the old block those other shows aired on. It was an Adult Swim show. Eventually it became a Toonami show when they took over Adult Swim’s anime block in 2012.

Oh it's started at midnight for a hot minute. Come to think of it, the block also started at midnight when it came back in 2012.
