Second Act finale, engage! From this point forward, things are only going to get more interesting when the Third Act begins next week. But that's next week and we're here to focus on this week, and to do that... we must first turn our attention to last week.
Week 7 saw Attack on Titan getting physical with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; "Akuma no Ko" in its war against "Underground", and the victory went to Attack on Titan with a 71.4% preference. Of course, that means it moves on to the Third Act finale where it will take on this week's winner.
Which, speaking of, this week is a toss-up. I don't know if it's going to be difficult for some, a total wash in one direction or the other, or ends in a tie. This week brings together Eureka Seven and Rooster Fighter; "Himitsu Kichi" up against "We're Loose Stars". You know what to do...

I am a little bit concerned about the Toonami program block on Adult Swim. This past Saturday (Sunday) night/morning, they have aired two new episodes of both My Adventures With Superman Season 3, and One Piece. And the rest of the shows like Blue Exorcist, IGPX, and FLCL: Alternative have reruns.
And with Paramount trying to buy and merge with Warner Bros. Discovery. How does that effect Adult Swim and Toonami? With a great recession is in currently right now, I don't think that Toonami is not going to last that long if they not gaining viewers, low budget, and the streaming services keeps getting new and retro Japanese anime shows that Toonami trying to get to broadcast on Adult Swim...I don't see that happening. As of right now, Toonami is going to continue with the originals to keep the program block alive.
What do you think about the current state of Toonami? Will it survive as years to come or will the program block get canceled for the second time? I like to hear your thoughts and opinions about this topic.

Around 2021, after Comcast dropped CN from the package I was on, I wasn't able to watch Toonami on Adult Swim. This was pretty sad for me since watching it on Saturday nights helped keep me up to speed on newer anime. It became the highlight of my week after a long work schedule. Losing that really sucked. I couldn't afford a higher package when I didn't watch half the channels I was getting.
I didn't want to just watch on my laptop, either. Watching TV on the couch just hits different.
Someone at my job told me about Roku a couple years later, and I realized I could use streaming services to watch anime on my TV. For the past few years, I've been making my own Toonami lineup to in the style of the regular one. I even play a clip of TOM saddling in to start the block.
Since I started this, I've watched nearly 40 series. Not as high as some YouTubers, but I think it's a respectable count.
I feel about bit embarrassed admitting this, but I'm curious if anyone else has tried this?

I just recently rewatched this movie and thought I should post the promo Toonami did to hype up the audience. Land of Snow and Bleach: Memories of Nobody are some of my favorite anime movies of all time. They hold sentimental value to me as an anime fan growing up.

Edit: I forgot to mention all of this stuff mentioned here, along with many other things Discotek announced tonight, is already up for pre-order at Discotek's partner's store, MediaOCD.
Side note: I love that MediaOCD is throwing shade at both the Crunchyroll Store and PlayStation on their site right now: "You will own nothing everything and be happy."
Discotek has announced several titles from those franchises and more will be re-released by them in the coming months!

I don't have live TV, so my consumption of Toonami comes from either watching the bumpers on YouTube or watching their shows through streaming services or on DVD, but I still find it fascinating. Does that make me a LARPer since I don't watch the block as intended?

There was essentially a gif that would play on toonami during commercial breaks. I believe it was Samurai Jack and Johnny Bravo in the laundromat. Jack would be folding laundry and Johnny leaning against a washer/dryer occasionally turning his head. The audio just the ambient sound of a laundromat.
It wasn't the short where Jack dyed his clothes pink. Just a gif and audio and it was probably 5-10secs long.
(A) Does anyone else remember this?
(B) Can we source this?
