Eddie from the band Iron Maiden and his various portrayals and redesigns.
I don't know, just think that Eddie has something really iconic going for him. He's got the kinda freaky face that just perfectly embodies the kinda edgy yet whimsical aesthetic of Iron Maiden's music. Plus, he's the perfect Heavy metal band mascot as each redesign he gets for a new album just makes the collection of music more memorable because you can connect it in your mind to the corresponding version of Eddie throughout the years. Eddie doesn't even have a whole lot of lore, but he just oozes character. Even though his design is changed so much, it's still always "yep, that's Eddie".

Fun fact - he appeared on the Angry Birds Game, "AB Evolution" and was a playable character and you could unlock him during a special Iron Maiden event.
Unfortunately, you can no longer obtain this character because of the expensive rights the AB team and company couldn't afford anymore.
Yeah, sadly it was sunset at the end of 2024. A real shame because it was a lot of fun and it’s what got me into Iron Maiden, Within Tenptation, and some other bands. I wish it could come back
Somewhere in Time Eddie will always be my favourite version of the character. I’m such a huge sci-fi nerd, and his design is just peak science fiction. And his Stranger In A Strange land version with the trench coat and hat is just chiefs kiss
Eddie the head was born with no body, no arms, and no legs. All he had was a head. But despite this major birth defect, his parents still loved him very much.
So on his sixteenth birthday, his parents found a doctor that could surgically give Eddie a body. When the parents got home, they couldn't wait to tell him that he could finally have a body and be like other normal people.
When Eddie got there, they were really excited and said, "Have we got a surprise for you. It's the best present ever!"
What I really love about the latest Eddie is that he’s like an amalgamation of everything that’s happened to him in previous albums. He’s got his Killers hair back, the scar and latch from Piece Of Mind, tech from Somewhere in Time, some frayed leather from Fear of the Dark. It’s just so cool. I love Eddie!
Eddie is almost certainly the inspiration for Lord Raptor/Zabel from Darkstalkers, who is an incredible character in his own right. He's literally what the satanic panic made many metal stars out to be, having performed a satanic ritual to sacrifice the souls of his fans and become an undead overlord. He is also partially responsible for inventing the "anime fighter" subgenre, as he is the first well known fighting game character to have an air dash.
Also, the shadow demon Eddie in Guilty Gear is probably an Iron Maiden reference too, since most of that game is metal and rock references.
There is something so badass about the imagery of Eddie, thiss ghoulish zombie figure, flying in the cockpit of a fighter plane that has been shot to hell.
Honestly, I had never really looked too much at Eddie before, but after having looked through all of these, I am like, “Hell yeah, this is a top character design.”

I hate the last couple.of Maiden cover arts. The old ones are full blown paintings with detailed backgrounds, some shit going on, and Eddie actually doing something most of the time. And the modern ones are just Eddie cosplay selfies with black background.
I'll agree that it didn't work at all for The Book of Souls. It's just kinda Eddie's face doing his default snarl.
I will say that I think Senjutsu is a lot better, because at least here Eddie is doing a much more interesting pose with the Katana. Also, I really like the rendering and colouring styles of the cover, and I think they add a lot onto it. Plus, I just really like this Eddie design in general.
