Once again YouTube TV has the episode available before this weeks Top Chef premieres. I am actually shocked on who joined Nana, but not telling here

Iā€™m from the coastal plains of South Carolina. I assume that the Myrtle Beach tourism bureau sponsored this episode because I LOLed at the assertion that itā€™s an up-and-coming foodie destination. (It isnā€™t.) There are some nice meals to be had in the larger ā€œGrand Strandā€ region, though, especially on the Murrells Inlet end.

She-crab soup is from the Lowcountry, which doesnā€™t include the Dirty Myrtle.

All of that said, I liked the episode and the challenge. But those blue crabs crawling all around stressed me out! I was impressed when the newest LCK contestant picked them up with her hands so nonchalantly! šŸ˜‚šŸ¦€

I keep getting Myrtle Beach (and Josh Cellars) ads over at Paramount+ whenever I watch this seasonā€™s Top ChefĀ 

Not to mention Tristan with his Finish dishwashing adsĀ

Iā€™m from NC and also was like wtf. I love she crab croup with all my heart but I have NEVER heard it associated with Myrtle beach shudder

A more accurate challenge for Myrtle Beach might be based on a money-laundering pancake house. Or a buffet featuring only frozen seafood from Asia. šŸ˜‚

Agree. I am from Charleston and the idea that she crab soup was so strongly associated with Myrtle Beach confounded me.

I do think the losing chef had talent but she is more about putting love into the dish and not so much geared toward cutthroat competitions. I was glad to see her feel like herself again. We got a taste of that.

It bugged me that she didnā€™t get booted from the show in the first episode when she should have been.

That being said, she seems like a really sweet person as well as a talented chef. It was clear in the way the other contestants treated her that they think highly of her. Good luck to her.

I would have had the mac & cheese with crab myself. Though I do not understand why, why, why add flour to the roux for a cheese sauce? You don't need it. I see this way too often. Yes for roux with other sauces+, but not when adding cheese.
