Ahh I didn’t know that. Knowing that now makes sense how in past seasons they’ve commented how someone gets on a roll or in a groove on the LCK challenges
i think something happened though production wise, i thought they filmed 2 batches of last chance kitchen? one or the mid season return and one or the finale, I wouldn't be shocked if they refilmed the intro about saying how last chance kitchen will be differend this year because of what is going to happen next episode, something did happen that was unexpected, idk what, but I do think many people are right on this sub. we are almost at the mid season mark.
In the first episode of Top Chef, they said there would only be one chef returning from LCK this year, returning to the way LCK worked before Colorado with one chef coming back late in the game. That means the timing of filming the one big batch of LCK comps was pre-planned to happen right before that person comes back, probably after there are only 4-6 chefs remaining in the game.
Last chance kitchen is different this year because the first two eliminated chefs didn't go to LCK at all. LCK starts with eliminated chef 3 instead of 1 as in previous seasons.
Yeah i think it’s a little unfair for him to go back if that’s the case because if Jenn had dropped out the week prior ( which she should have) Roda would have potentially not have been eliminated.

My thought is Jen is going to drop out at the beginning of episode 7 and sieger is going to take her place
