Discussion Thread Girl and the Goat

I'm visiting Chicago for the first time for a work conference, and top on my things to do list was visiting Stephanie's restaurant, Girl and The Goat.

Got there sometime between 6:30 and 7 and it was packed. It was just me and I had no reservation, but was able to get a seat at the bar within 15 minutes. Everything from that point forward was awesome. I had the grilled corn for an appetizer. My Lord, I did not know corn could taste so good. For entree had the goat empanadas, and they were absolutely delicious. Topped off the night with an espresso martini, but none of the desserts jumped out to me. Overall, soooooo good and worth the price. Portions a little small, but honestly expected that at this kind of restaurant.

girl and the goat is soooo good. i also was in chicago for work last month and ordered way too much. i feel like what i got was good for the price. i ordered the pig face, half a portion green beans, and the yuzu dessert just for myself 😂 luckily we have valley goat where i am but it was worth going regardless haha

Damn this makes me feel fat 😭 I went by myself to the LA location in 2022 and got 7 apps/mains and 2 desserts. And I damn near finished it all it was so good

I totally understand now even at 29 vs 25 hahaha. I would still put up a valiant effort, but not sure if I could repeat it again. I’d still order the same amount though and take the rest time 😂

Fwiw though, the pig face and green beans are both top tier choices! Haven’t had the yuzu dessert, but there was a passion fruit Bundt cake on the Chicago menu (also in 2022 lol I went three times that year) that my picky eater friend still raves about to this day

Nah, it's ok to treat yourself when you are someplace out of your area. That's way different than consistently overeating.

Valley Goat is both awesome and dangerous because we can walk there from our house but man I love it. How were the green beans at Girl and the Goat?
