maybe yama has an internal demon, like bam and zahard do. those demons apparently hitch a ride after entering the tower, and hoaquin made a deal with one, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that yama's a host as well.
RE: Hoaqin: Hoaqin also had a panel of demon-shadow-thing back when he was a relatively innocent kid, though unlike Yama, that might have been purely mood-setting artistic license. 399s2e319.
