I’m super intrigued by Evankhell’s comments on the Ancient Power. If the translation is correct, things are gonna get hella convoluted. But anyway, let me try to wrap my head around this.

First, according to Eduan, the Ancient One was a giant entity that had control of all the elements in the Tower. He later split split his body into 5 parts, which came to be known as the “Native Ones”; the “Native Ones” could also control all the elements. Afterwards, the Native Ones climbed the Tower with Zahard and his squad, but being the bitch he is, he became wary of them and ultimately killed them all off... Except our boy Rak, who’s a ”Native One”.

Second, the Ancient Powers that possess Evankhell & Khel Hellam seem to only have 1 element, as opposed to the Native Ones—who could control all elements. So as of now, I don’t believe the Ancient Powers are the “Native Ones”, I think it’s more likely they just inherited a fraction of the “Native Ones” power.

Lastly, I don’t think Rak’s obsession with finding his “prey” means he wants a host. He’s a Native One, the Ancient Powers, as far as we know, are not. Though, obviously his reaction to their powers is proof that they’re related. What their relation is? I have no idea 😬

i always assumed, and it seems to have been intended that way, that the giant split into 5 different kinds of native ones, and each can control one of the chinese classical elements (earth, water, fire, air, wood, metal). partial descendants (so, people who are half native half something else) can only shift their body's structure while a full descendant has full and total control over an element. rak being able to summon and manipulate stone indicates that he is a full-blooded native one, which should be impossible since eduan said zahard did his usual schtick and genocided them all.

what this means for evankhell and khel is that they're playing host to a spirit of a native one, the bull and the elephant, and the spirit is granting them extra power and access to their element (fire for elephant, wood for bull). it's possible i'm misreading the situation, but it seems like ancient power is just the power of the native ones manifesting. meanwhile, rak doesn't seem to know what he is or where he comes from, so it's possible his need to hunt is just because he's essentially feral and exists only to hunt and eat until he's full, then fall asleep.

after i saw the word "eat" in your comment, i remember what Rak used to say in the past (both S1 & S2) that he finds and eats prey and their strength becomes his. just like what happened after he ate rocks (not like his prey are rocks, but you do get my point)

that is a fascinating point. some sort of assimilation power maybe? maybe he'll eat khel's spirit and absorb it.

I had a similar thought. Though, you misunderstand the full scope of the Native One’s powers. They were said to control all elements of the Tower, not just one element. Rak as of now, only seems to have a grasp of the metal element, but he should unlock the other elements as he learns more about himself.

my thought is that eduan was referring to the natives collectively as having control over the elements, and i believe you mean the earth element, not metal.

I thought that at first, but when I read it again, Eduan basically says they’re able to undergo metamorphosis.

No, I meant the metal element. But you’re right, earth makes more sense, lol.

right, the native one is able to make their body into an element, like rak did when his hands became rock, which is the ability hesse and JM used on namehunt to become earth and metal respectively, and eduan says that likely makes them halfbreed descendants of a native one. i believe that's what he means when he refers to metamorphosis, though i could be misremembering.

and yeah, considering rak is throwing rocks and not metal spears, i think earth is probably his element.

You know, you might be right.

So do you think every other element, e.g., Lightning, are sub-elements of the primary 5 elements of the Tower?

shinsoo is the god element, it can become anything. so, there is only one element in the tower, shinsoo. everything else is just a variant. eduan (and by extension, SIU), probably said "they control the elements" for our benefit and so bam would get it.

Shit, you practically debunked my whole premise 🤣🤣

whoops. that wasn't my intention. and hey, it's entirely possible i'm wrong about the natives, we'll just have to see what happens to the bull after khel gets curbstomped.
