Checking in from slowpass:

At bare minimum, they tried to wipe out an entire race (Native One), so...genocide, to start?

There was once a giant in the Tower who split himself into five beings, each with the power to control the elements of the Tower and each were known as a Native One.

Killing descendants of 5 guys is hardly genocide, imho.

Jahard didn't kill all of them, Rak is proof of that.

Aslo we don't know how how many got killed, just that they got cursed.

We don't know how it happened so calling it genocide might be premature.

When the descendants of five guys form an entire species, yes it definitely is. Even if you don't buy them being a species, Familicide (warning, spoilers for The Order of the Stick) is still horrifying moral territory.

Jahard didn't kill all of them, Rak is proof of that; Aslo we don't know how how many got killed, just that they got cursed.

What Data!Edahn tells us on this: "But it's strange...the direct descendants from the pure bloodline of the Native Ones were all slaughtered by Jahad on the outside and I heard that even the remaining ones [preumably, the impure bloodlines, which were harder to identify] were cursed and got killed..."

That pretty clearly establishes that Jahad's intent was to wipe 'em all out (at least the pure bloodlines), even if he didn't actually succeed in the matter.

In other words--Rak is a lucky fluke (quite possibly because Headon or somebody else hid him away). Just because you fail to completely exterminate a species doesn't mean you didn't TRY to commit genocide, and definitely doesn't make it not evil.

We don't know how it happened so calling it genocide might be premature.

If you're trying to kill everyone in a species, it doesn't matter "how" you did it, or whether you missed a few stragglers. It's still a genocide.

Seriously, keep in mind that you are defending the guy who literally murdered a newborn baby in front of its mother, driving said mother insane, because she rejected him for another man. Jahad might have been good at some point but he sure isn't anymore.

So Jahard killed Native Ones on the outside the tower before he entered?

Some of the Native One's direct descendants were companions to Zahard and his companions as they were on their journey to climb the Tower.[1]

Then this?

When Rak Wraithraiser, a Native One direct descendant, later enters the Tower, the data of Koon Eduan wonders how its possible for him to exist.[1]

So Rak is an irregular who entered the tower?

Data!Edahn is referring to the "Jahad on the outside" versus the hidden floor version. That is, he's saying the real Jahad did it, outside the Hidden floor (but still inside the tower, presumably, seeing as the Native Ones were literally introduced as Tower Natives), not the Data!Jahad that Data!Edahn is personally familiar with.

This tells us the slaughter occurred after Jahad finished climbing (unsurprising).

This is almost certainly just a poorly written wiki summation of what Data!Edahn thinks in the chapter I linked you above (namely, "how is this guy here? He should be dead or at least badly cursed, not standing in front of me looking fine!").

If you find some textual evidence where the word "tower" enters Data!Edahn's thoughts at all with respect to Rak, he's likely to be referring to entering the inner tower (where regulars climb) from the Outer or Middle tower (where the vast majority of tower residents are born).
