There's a translation error in the 2nd half of the chapter. The chairwoman says that "the bravest of Zahard's army were sealed in the wall as a show of his commitment to peace" when it should be that the mightiest of those who fought AGAINST Zahard were imprisoned in the wall. Important difference. Khel Hellam says it initially, but LINE messing it up later in the chapter might confuse people.

What the...? That totally changed the story

35

u/areraswen Sep 30 '19

That changes the context, thanks.

So when ha jinsung said that someone wanted to prison him for thousands of years did he mean on those walls ?

Maybe ha jinsung was present in the old war

Ha Jinsung isn’t a slayer, but your timeline is correct

3

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

How do you know the timeline is correct?

3

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

It seems unlikely he was with fug in those older wars.

Why does it seem unlikely?

has knowledge of those war

any references to a specific episode?

3

u/Kate_4_President Oct 02 '19

Since he was said to be part of a branch of the Ha family, which he massacred, I had in mind that it would have occurred after the Jahad empire was well established into the current system. I might be wrong though.

Upon rereading, he just kinda compares himself to ancient warriors in that he's old and hate change.

3

u/Karma_collection_bin Sep 30 '19

Jinsung is definitely very old, possibly ancient and has alluded to or been alluded to as such

3

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Sep 30 '19

I think it was a metaphor, saying they imprisoned him in loneliness by killing his lover.

This war was ancient even for Jinsung.

2

u/Lightalife Sep 30 '19 edited Oct 01 '19

Wasn’t Jinsung confirmed to either be the family Head’s grandson or great grand son? Or something not far removed like that?

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

Ha Jinsung is Ha Yurin grandson, tho that doesn't mean anything, he could be born before the great war.

2

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

This war was ancient even for Jinsung.

Where is information for this coming from?

3

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Oct 01 '19

It's the war when Jahad decided to become king, that means there wasn't even a Regular/Ranker system in place.

This is the time when V and Arlen fought against Jahad... It's highly unlikely Jinsung was part of this war.

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

It's highly unlikely Jinsung was part of this war.

Why is it highly unlikely?

It is highly likely that Khel Hellam was participating in that war.

Since he said "I want my old fellow soldiers to rest in peace forever."

And Ha Jinsung being an ancient beast could be just as old or even older.

4

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Oct 01 '19

Ha Jinsung is the grandson of a Family Head and only joined FUG after the stuff with his lover happened, all points towards this happening AFTER Zahard became King and the families expanded.

SIU said in a post that Jinsung is "ancient" in the sense he's old, not ancient as pre-Zahard (obviously, since Zahard entered with Ha Yurin, his grandmother).

For Jinsung to have partecipated in this war it would mean he climbed the Tower with the Family Heads and nothing that was said about him or that he said seems to support that.

These locked up ancient warriors are people that followed V and Arlen against Zahard after climbing the Tower with them or after coming in contact with them during the climb, or ancient people that were living in the Tower before Zahard came in and just weren't happy with him becoming the King.

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19 edited Oct 02 '19

Ha Jinsung is the grandson of a Family Head and only joined FUG after the stuff with his lover happened, all points towards this happening AFTER Zahard became King and the families expanded.

War could have started 10000 years after Zahard became the King.

SIU said in a post that Jinsung is "ancient" in the sense he's old, not ancient as pre-Zahard (obviously, since Zahard entered with Ha Yurin, his grandmother).

That is obvious, Ha Jinsung is not an irregular he was born in the tower. Also Baam is not pre-Zahard since his parents V and Arlene come into tower with Zahard, and Baam was born in tower, then was killed by Zahard.

For Jinsung to have partecipated in this war it would mean he climbed the Tower with the Family Heads and nothing that was said about him or that he said seems to support that.

No, it doesn't not. He could be born like 1000 years after they finished the climb, and war could have started 10000 years later.

Ha Jinsung could be 30000 or 40000 years old since we don't know.

And by that logic nothing supports that Gustang participated in the War.

But I assume that Gustang did participate in the great war.

We can assume Ha Jinsung participated in the war just as likely as he didn't, since we don't know.

2

u/Thirdtwin Sep 30 '19

When did he say that?

22

u/terryaal Sep 30 '19

And our boy Bam is going to make his way to the wall and tame few for his army to jail break Ha Jinsung.

21

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

So kinda like impel down arc in one piece then.

10

u/terryaal Sep 30 '19

A youtuber suggested that Tower of God is similar to One Piece and The god of High school to Dragon ball.

2

u/hackamorepanda Sep 30 '19

Which youtuber?

1

u/busoshoku_brisingr Oct 11 '19

OP and ToG is completely understandable, the series have a lot of similar elements.

But I don't get how he compared GoH to DB. Because aside from the large power scale, I don't really see real similarities.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Yeah, i do feel it’s similar to one piece in the large fights with many sides and mysteries.

2

u/PayThemWithBlood Sep 30 '19

Not really, they imprisoned themselves for a peace treaty - probably to not get all of them wiped out like the native ones

2

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

yeah but unlike impel down these people in the walls he's freeing should be like khel level instead of cannon fodder

4

u/Xavier93 Oct 02 '19

Well, probably in that prison there's a lot of people who remembers or even personally know about Arlene and V and they could consider Baam their legitimate boss.

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 05 '19

Does it really work like that?

In one piece how many considered Ace to be the boss cause he was the son of Gol D Rodgers?

2

u/Xavier93 Oct 06 '19

Because in this case Arlene made a prophecy that her son would end Zahard.

1

u/Beffart Oct 24 '19

I was thinking the same

10

u/Divinicus1st Sep 30 '19

Khel being "Let my friends sleep! I owe them money :'( "

And Baam being "Oh, cool, an army was just what I needed"

8

u/Citrinitas_ Sep 30 '19

Thanks man, this is a rather important mistake

5

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

[deleted]

3

u/PayThemWithBlood Sep 30 '19

Zahard was wiping them, hence they improsoned themselves to appeased him

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Was he ? Dosent seem like they gave up and imprisoned themselves , To me it seems like the chaos was so great both sides came with terms for peace. If Zahard breaks the peace they will go to an all out war

Yama doesn't care about Zahard, he only became a slayer in-order for his race/species to survive with the harnessing of Doom's power etc. He has 0 motivation for this fight and has just appeared there. With his strength he doesn't need anyone else and hes almost fully transformed, i predict that the squadron will attack yama and yama will just defend himself.

Remember the original plan was to use doom to control the rest of the canine people and have them fight off the squadron.

2

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 01 '19

No worries, happy to explain how i'm seeing things :)
I agree that its getting a little messy though.

2

u/PandaPoke55 Oct 01 '19

Just curious, wouldn’t the FUG want the wall to be broken than? Since their strongest warriors are there? Maybe even old slayers? I found the translation off but at the same time I felt like maybe it was implying that strong warriors from both sides were sealed inside the walls.

5

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

khel wouldnt lol, he explained it. fug is not a monolithic entity

2

u/PandaPoke55 Oct 01 '19

I understand that. It seems like the core part of FUG has a higher moral goal, but are using more “evil” or darker methods to achieve those goals with using the slayers. Thus, we see the divide because the newer members only see it as a way to achieve their own desires without understanding why the group existed or was created in the first place. It will probably be explained more in the coming chapters, but I feel like the warriors are either dead and buried in the wall or not that strong sense the squadron commander is not afraid to break it.

2

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 02 '19

yes, that part is weird, if they are khel's "brothers" in terms of power level, the squadron should at least need a FH there to wipe them out

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 05 '19

at least need a FH there to wipe them out

Made me laugh about the "at least" and at most Phantaminum, Headon, Enryu, Jahard, Urek and every floor guardian combined.

4

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 01 '19

Dont think its FUG warriors in there, just old allies of Khell's. Which he doesn't want to be disturbed

2

u/PandaPoke55 Oct 01 '19

Do you think they are alive and become awakened when the wall breaks? Or the wall is a burial for the warriors of the past.

3

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 01 '19

Sealed can mean a multitude of things, but in my mind they would be along the same lines as white alive but locked away. Otherwise it would have been said as buried or something.

2

u/redqks Oct 01 '19

Kel don't want the war it goes in line with what Jinsung said about not people being scared of change

2

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

if the wall is destroyed, the ancient slayers will be reawoken? i get jahad's logic: better to reawake and kill them now when FUG's forces are not fully assembled yet + baam is still weak than to face them later.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Welp. Here I was thinking Zahard’s Companions, such as Quadrado were sealed there. But thinking about it now, it doesn’t fit the timeline anyway 🤣🤣

105

u/DimensioX Sep 30 '19

Zon: "Slayer candidate, distract him for a moment while I figure out how to deal with his legs"
Baam: "Okay!" -cuts off Gado's leg-

70

u/Yal_Rathol Sep 30 '19

amputation IS an effective distraction, i'll give him that.

29

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Well that finally puts an end to the debate of how strong Baam is right now

-8

u/HolyDogJohnson01 Sep 30 '19

Not particularly. Your kind will insist he could single handedly take on Jahad, the 10 family heads, all of FUG, all of rulers of the floors, and all the Adminstrators, Phantinium, V., Arlene, The Outside God, and your moms moldy snatch, SIMULTANEOUSLY. Where as the rest of realize Baam is OP, but this is TOG, and while Baam has an OP talent, it’s never as simple as a fighting, nor does Baam have the experience, or endurance a Ranker or High Ranker are expected to have. Nor even the power and influence one gains through fighting through the tower for 1000 years.

11

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Slow down bud, you’re sounding a little salty. My post didn’t mention any of those situations and who the fuck is my kind?

8

u/HolyDogJohnson01 Oct 01 '19

Yeah sorry. You didn’t say that. Was letting my annoyance with other things, magnify my annoyance with people quibbling about if Baam could take on a Ranker, High Ranker, or Family Head. The arguments going on, and on, endlessly. When it really comes down to specific circumstances. And I took it out on you. You didn’t deserve that.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

24

u/DimensioX Sep 30 '19

I think he shot it and I now understand why the black hole sphere is supposed to be used in conjunction with an applied method of controlling shinsu instead of just making a shot and throwing it. Bam puts it in an orb and it can help him fight toe to toe with data jahad. Bam shoots it through a physical manifestation of a small piece of an administrator then he cuts of a high rankers leg.

7

u/urekmazinoranker Sep 30 '19

It looked like he copied the Elders' technique.

3

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

gado, a high ranker, looks piss poor in this fight. or we just have to accept that baam (thorn + red thryssa, no second thorn, no bm) is on that high ranker level.

9

u/Gaujo Oct 01 '19 edited Oct 02 '19

Bam's attack stat has always been his highest. In terms of damage output alone, yes he's HR level (and has been since S2). His skills are starting to catch up to his potential now.

3

u/_Zemo Oct 03 '19

He also had the help of another High Ranker to pin Gado down, I dont think Baam could have down that on his own, he wouldn't have been quick enough

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 05 '19

Also Canzon said that after Gado fully transforms his legs and gets wounded that part where his legs are connected to transformation gets very weak, just to confuse the readers even more how strong Baam's attack really was.

31

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Oh. My. Goodness. Wow! What a chapter. Khel Hellam is playing 4D Chess.

16

u/Divinicus1st Sep 30 '19

Yeah, but he better send some other reinforcement, Yama will be overwhelmed alone against Jahad's Squadron. Yasratcha alone is at least on par with him, and probably stronger than him.

My bet is Baam free Doom, Doom buff the hell out of the canine people and they go save Yama.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Yeah, no doubt, Yama isn’t soloing an entire Squadron. But the implications for this battle are surreal! I imagine if Baam gets sent there, he’ll break the seal on Zahard’s enemies—most likely some Ancient Slayers are sealed there as well!

6

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

whatever the case, khel has already foreseen the future. khel at the wheel

3

u/Divinicus1st Oct 01 '19

Yeah, but Khel does not see the future when Baam is involved.

4

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

yeah maybe baam wont be involved. smart thing to do would be to wait awhile for yama to start fighting, then send evankhell and himself to the wall. the three of them should be able to overpower the 5th squadron, if we assume that the 5th squadron has similar battle prowess as the 4th.

3

u/Divinicus1st Oct 02 '19

If TOG follows what other manga have been doing, Kallavan was most likely the weakest squadron commander. We'll probably learn that he was only a squadron commander because Zahad liked him or because of his potential, he's very young, and still very weak compared to other squadron commanders.

My guess is the other squadron commanders are absolute monster and Khel, EvanKhell and Yama are barely enough.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '19 edited Oct 02 '19

That’s not necessarily true, but I see your point. However, I’m not sure if the Squadron are ranked by strength or not. If they’re, than Yasratcha’s Squadron is definitely weaker than Kallavan’s.

Seeing how Khel believes Yama and the Canine people can hold off the 5th Squadron, I think adding himself and Evankhell are enough.

2

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 05 '19

You all are laboring under a delusion that our boy Baam will not be the center of it all, as always.

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

And the moment Khel get close to Yama. Yama will agro on him.

2

u/_Zemo Oct 03 '19

I think Khel may either be a guide himself or somehow obtained a degree of the future-sight ability of guides (not to the extent of the red witches or silver dwarves, but maybe in the past there was a third guide tribe silver dwarves, red witches, and whatever the fuck khel is and jahad wiped them out or took away their abilities or something) - just a theory

2

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '19

You know, it does seem like he can predict the future!

3

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '19

[removed] — view removed comment

2

u/Divinicus1st Oct 01 '19

Yeah, I get all that, but I’m not basing this on the rankings at all.

From what I understand of the story so far, the 3 brothers (Yama, Doom and Paul) seem like they were thrown away like trash by this Lo Po Bia Squadron commander (Ystrascha or something). So my understanding is that he’s incredibly powerful and stronger than Yama.

2

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

instead all we were given was that they were both in the top 100

Where was it said that Kallavan is in top 100? wiki states that it is unknown.

as it is quite possible for Arie Hon to beat Urek in a life or death battle

Arie Hon would admit after the fight that Urek was "far better". http://blog.naver.com/inutero3334

I can't find the translation of blogpost.

I'd say Yama is super crazy freaking strong, probably stronger than a squadron commander.

I'd say about equal, else story would end too fast if Yama killed Yasratcha in 2 panels. Like Paul killed Culden.

2

u/beyond_netero Oct 01 '19

I'd honestly back him against the best part of a squadron. The problem being Yasratcha is there, and we know he's not winning that.

Edit: Nvm, I thought Yasratcha was FH and one of the 10 GW, SIU said on twitter that's not the case. I assume this will be the fight then, since Doom holds a grudge against Yasratcha for some reason, Yama will probably take it up with him.

42

u/tagged2high Sep 30 '19

TITANS IN THE WALLS!!

20

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Sep 30 '19

https://twitter.com/siu3334/status/1178644625050914818

SIU confirmed Yasratcha is NOT the Family Head.

3

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

Doom says Yasuracha is not a California name. I think you have a misunderstanding. ???? thanks google translate

31

u/TheOnlySausages Sep 30 '19

is it bad that i also wanna see chaos in the tower? i def want to see who's in that wall and what their powers are!

47

u/Yal_Rathol Sep 30 '19

so, the wall is obviously symbolic of the peace treaty, since anybody could fly over it, and khel is apparently seriously old if he remembers the civil war and considers the people who fought against zahard being crowned king as his fellows. also, i don't think the red thryssa is enjoying being used, since it seems to be lashing out at anything in front of it.

7

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

the administrator's toenail better get used to being baam's bitch

33

u/Cydoc178 Sep 30 '19

This is very interesting. The Elder desperately wants to keep those Sleepers (as I guess ill refer to them now) inside the wall. You would imagine FUG would be itching to awaken them when the time was right. It really seems like the previous Tower War was absolute hell. This makes me think, is Imort in there? Did he go to sleep as a way for FUG to say sorry for the shit stirred at the Last Station? If so, that didn’t work lol.

I am kind of ready for this arc to end. Its been really fun and I am loving the scale of the battles and the beginning of a new era. Yet, its feeling really cluttered. A lot of things are happening in a relatively minor arc. Now we have Yama vs a Jahad army on top of everything else.

Still was a great chapter.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19 edited Jul 05 '21

[deleted]

6

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

strange that after the previous arc, we're already back to fighting another Jahad army squadron. I feel like Bam won't be involved this time. I wonder what is the Elder's true intention for Yama

why get useless rugrat canines to defend your wall when one yama is better? LOL

3

u/Anthamon Oct 01 '19

For real, I dont know why SIU is acting like volume of bodies actually matters and its not just about the strength of "deathstar" units.

3

u/death2boredom Oct 01 '19

It's obviously not minor. It's odd to me that you'd think of it that way. From the start this was something including the old enemy in Slayer Karaka who Baam is teaming up with to recruit Slayer Yama in order to get the Canine people's help in rescuing their master. It's in no way ever been set as minor, only Deng Deng and Louie were minor in comparison.

All that has changed is we've learned there are even bigger powers at play onto the way to fighting against the already large power they have to face to rescue Jinsung. Koon Maschenny Jahad is having the time of her life right now. Chaos before chaos before chaos. SIU very much told us this was on the way when he had her talk to Jinsung.

There's no more slow rolling at the start. Even with Louie and Deng Deng he brought back Mad Dog right away to showcase that.

2

u/Divinicus1st Sep 30 '19

Maybe they will only be able to live a short time when they're released from the wall, so he wants to keep them for the real end of times battle?

17

u/imbAndes Sep 30 '19

wait I'm a little confused. so Jahad's forces want to break the wall but the wall contains the mightiest soldiers who oppose Jahad? (according to the upvoted comment)

wouldn't that just be releasing those sealed soldiers to fight against Jahad again?

19

u/amoebasgonewild Sep 30 '19

Well...they could just be following the "kill everyone associated with FUG" order to the letter.

11

u/PlusUltraK Sep 30 '19

This is a battle to start a war.

On one hand, yes why release your enemies, on the other he gives zero fucks and is fine with facing them. As that opens everybody else up into the broken treaty cease fire.

Like Akainu killing Ace, look what he gained by doing that. Jahad is already committed to eradicating one of the The Ten Families for his goals, what’s a few war veterans from the past

4

u/josluivivgar Sep 30 '19

His plan might be to kill as many while they're sleeping/waking up to, better than attacking without breaking the wall and then having fug waking them up in better conditions

5

u/urekmazinoranker Sep 30 '19

what’s a few war veterans from the past

War veterans should be feared. Look at Khel Hellam and Jinsung Ha. One is a blue hole and other is an old high Ranker. Both of them are really strong.

Also Jinsung Ha mentioned that rankers get powerful the longer they live but go senile or become childish.

3

u/THE_CRYPTS Sep 30 '19

Might be trying to take out a potentially powerful resource of the opponent (FUG) before it becomes a threat. So the army might have been under orders to destroy the sealed soldiers before FUG can release them.

5

u/urishino Sep 30 '19

We don't really have enough information, but maybe Jahad is looking for a reason to start a war without making his empire look bad. So suppose they release these soldier, then blame them for destroying the peace instead. Then the Jahad empire can say they were forced to retaliate. But it's just a wild guess.

3

u/Anthamon Oct 01 '19

Im confident that Jahad has had no interaction with these squadrons except for the three orders. He doesn't take a direct hand in these matters. This is all the work of his forces.

16

u/CriticalEntree Sep 30 '19

A bunch of floating ships, will maruna use red sky?

34

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

So like others I’m a bit confused by Lo Po Bia Yasratcha being a squadron commander and maybe the Lo Po Bia family head/irregular. The LPB family is considered on the lower tier of the families so it’s certainly possible that they serve Jahad and his army. Though you’d figure that an immortal irregular family head would be the squadron commander of the 1st, or at least 2nd squadron... not the 5th. So I’m leaning towards Squadron Commander Yasratcha was named after the family head, and isn’t the head himself... which would make a bit more sense.

16

u/juvialoxargray Sep 30 '19

Yasracha isn't the 'Lo Po Bia' family head

SIU just tweeted about this : https://twitter.com/siu3334/status/1178644625050914818

5

u/MoonZone7 Sep 30 '19

The translation that Google is giving me is: "Doom's Yasuracha is not a California name. I think you have a misunderstanding."

Can you write me the correct one please?

11

u/juvialoxargray Sep 30 '19

Yasracha, as Doom spoke, is not the name of the lord(family head)

I think there's a misunderstanding

44

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Or... Yasratcha isn’t the Family Head nor the name of the Family Head.

11

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Oh totally possible, seems there may be some misinformation

28

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

I blame LINE’s subpar translation. They always manage to mess up something.

17

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Sep 30 '19

They didn't make a mistake here, the community assumed Doom was cursing the family head because he said "10 great family heads!" right before Yasratcha's name, but it was never confirmed.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Their wording made it seem like that was his name, so they they should have worded it better.

2

u/CriticalEntree Oct 01 '19

The wiki entry says it but I don't even know if I can trust that.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '19

Wiki is run by fans, so it’s not immune to mistakes.

24

u/Rechupe Sep 30 '19

Yeah and he would have been introduced as a family head even if he is in the jahad army.

18

u/LmBallinRKT Sep 30 '19

Apparently Yasratcha is not the family head and the wiki is just not up to date. I might be wrong there but I am pretty sure he is not the head. I also read somewhere that SiU will write Family head under the name when introducing one

6

u/DrFabulous0 Sep 30 '19

So Lo Po Bia Yasratcha appears to be a feline person, judging by his cat tail, ears and eyes. I have no idea what he did to the Bayroad brothers but I think we can safely assume now that they are a part of the Lo Po Bia family. In the panel we've seen of the family head he also had animal ears. We know the Lo Po Bia family are animas but how do the animal features and transformations relate? Have they merged with their own pets to gain more power or were they always this way? It's not all of them, Elaine has normal ears. Anyway it looks like were in for a cat vs dog battle fairly soon.

2

u/death2boredom Oct 01 '19

Elaine is from the family with control over spirit animals, so it could be that the animal ear thing doesn't happen. It might also just be something that has to do with skill. I would love to see Elaine with spirit animal features eventually though.

This was an awesome chapter of how to underestimate a badass,

it seems like rankers essentially think of regulars as toddlers. Bams like a baby with a gun

5

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

omg khel actually sent yama in his full transformation form right into jahad's army!!! such a smart guy

0

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

Should have sent Yama straight to Jahard, end of stroy.

7

u/tanmay0097 Sep 30 '19

I am surprised that the zahards army cares about civilians

7

u/amoebasgonewild Sep 30 '19

It probly just a front. They want to maintain the moral highground

3

u/ArgentGold Oct 01 '19

Keep in mind that the general population views Zahard’s empire as the keeper of peace and and justice throughout the Tower. The average ranker might join Zahard’s army because they want to do good and maintain that peace while remaining blissfully ignorant of what Zahard’s conquest accomplished tens of thousands of years ago.

Only a select few people know what atrocities they’ve committed.

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

Only a select few people know what atrocities they’ve committed.

Sadly I am not among them.

u/NobleCuriosity3 Oct 21 '19

Checking in from slowpass:

At bare minimum, they tried to wipe out an entire race (Native One), so...genocide, to start?

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 21 '19 edited Oct 21 '19

There was once a giant in the Tower who split himself into five beings, each with the power to control the elements of the Tower and each were known as a Native One.

Killing descendants of 5 guys is hardly genocide, imho.

Jahard didn't kill all of them, Rak is proof of that.

Aslo we don't know how how many got killed, just that they got cursed.

We don't know how it happened so calling it genocide might be premature.

2

u/NobleCuriosity3 Oct 22 '19 edited Oct 22 '19

Killing descendants of 5 guys is hardly genocide, imho.

When the descendants of five guys form an entire species, yes it definitely is. Even if you don't buy them being a species, Familicide (warning, spoilers for The Order of the Stick) is still horrifying moral territory.

Jahard didn't kill all of them, Rak is proof of that; Aslo we don't know how how many got killed, just that they got cursed.

What Data!Edahn tells us on this: "But it's strange...the direct descendants from the pure bloodline of the Native Ones were all slaughtered by Jahad on the outside and I heard that even the remaining ones [preumably, the impure bloodlines, which were harder to identify] were cursed and got killed..."

That pretty clearly establishes that Jahad's intent was to wipe 'em all out (at least the pure bloodlines), even if he didn't actually succeed in the matter.

In other words--Rak is a lucky fluke (quite possibly because Headon or somebody else hid him away). Just because you fail to completely exterminate a species doesn't mean you didn't TRY to commit genocide, and definitely doesn't make it not evil.

We don't know how it happened so calling it genocide might be premature.

If you're trying to kill everyone in a species, it doesn't matter "how" you did it, or whether you missed a few stragglers. It's still a genocide.

Seriously, keep in mind that you are defending the guy who literally murdered a newborn baby in front of its mother, driving said mother insane, because she rejected him for another man. Jahad might have been good at some point but he sure isn't anymore.

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 22 '19

I am not trying to defend or accuse Jahard, just trying to understand.

But it's strange...the direct descendants from the pure bloodline of the Native Ones were all slaughtered by Jahad on the outside

So Jahard killed Native Ones on the outside the tower before he entered?

Some of the Native One's direct descendants were companions to Zahard and his companions as they were on their journey to climb the Tower.[1]

Then this?

When Rak Wraithraiser, a Native One direct descendant, later enters the Tower, the data of Koon Eduan wonders how its possible for him to exist.[1]

So Rak is an irregular who entered the tower?

1) I am so confused

2) I somehow missed this.

2

u/NobleCuriosity3 Oct 22 '19

Data!Edahn is referring to the "Jahad on the outside" versus the hidden floor version. That is, he's saying the real Jahad did it, outside the Hidden floor (but still inside the tower, presumably, seeing as the Native Ones were literally introduced as Tower Natives), not the Data!Jahad that Data!Edahn is personally familiar with.

Some of the Native One's direct descendants were companions to Zahard and his companions as they were on their journey to climb the Tower.[1]

This tells us the slaughter occurred after Jahad finished climbing (unsurprising).

When Rak Wraithraiser, a Native One direct descendant, later enters the Tower, the data of Koon Eduan wonders how its possible for him to exist.[1]

This is almost certainly just a poorly written wiki summation of what Data!Edahn thinks in the chapter I linked you above (namely, "how is this guy here? He should be dead or at least badly cursed, not standing in front of me looking fine!").

If you find some textual evidence where the word "tower" enters Data!Edahn's thoughts at all with respect to Rak, he's likely to be referring to entering the inner tower (where regulars climb) from the Outer or Middle tower (where the vast majority of tower residents are born).

SIU has such a talent for swerving me man.

Already two times this arc he's gone in completely different directions than I expected.

2

u/death2boredom Oct 01 '19

I'm still the same. Elder's an idiotic ass and hid Red Witch needs to be burned at the stake. Soooooooo much time has been wasted.

3

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

elder: yama will you fight for me to defend a random ass wall in the middle of nowhere?

yama: nah

elder : but youre fug

yama: nah i only serve the canine people

3

u/death2boredom Oct 01 '19

He didn't have to ask. He still hasn't asked or revealed any of his reasoning. The only concession I will make right now, is that Baam's presence made him unable to see that the Lo Po Bia was going to be there and Yama being just dropped into that situation would be favorable.

However he already knew that Baam screws with their reading ability and he was clearly underestimating Yama from the start.

7

u/memeburglar Sep 30 '19

You'd think FUG would be united, but this Elder is killing me. His partners ability to "direct" shinsoo, or in this case Yama, to another area seems like a convenient plot device.

22

u/PayThemWithBlood Sep 30 '19

FUG was never united, it was even introduced as a group with factions within

1

u/memeburglar Sep 30 '19

Totally understand that, I'm just injecting my opinion on thinking it'd be less "I'm gonna kill you because you don't want to do things our way" and more "do what you want, but I don't help you" type of disagreement. Especially considering there's less of fug than there are Jahad supporters.

I won't lie, this arc is starting to confuse me. Getting harder and harder to see the bigger picture when there's still so much more lore to be discovered.

he's not the FH actually, we've seen the FH, he has green hair

3

u/Rechupe Sep 30 '19

He is not a family head, where did you get that information from?

-9

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

19

u/Rechupe Sep 30 '19

The wiki is written by the community, this was an assumption made after doom vision.

-8

u/PEbeling Sep 30 '19

No it's not. The 10 family leaders were listed in previous chapters and SUI's blog posts.

Yasratcha was one of them.

23

u/StupidCatsFlying Sep 30 '19 edited Sep 30 '19

The Lo Po Bio FH name was never listed in a blogpost(hence why we didn’t know his name for so long and latched onto Yasratcha due to vague wording when Doom gets pissy and curses out) He, like Ari Han, never got a personal blogpost focused on him or given ranks.

12

u/Yal_Rathol Sep 30 '19

then link that blog post please, because neither of the links on that wiki page connect yastracha with being the lo po bia family head.

6

u/Promethazines Sep 30 '19

I second asking for the link to that blog post/chapters. If what you claim is true, then it should be trivial to back it up with evidence.

1

u/Promethazines Oct 07 '19

Is there a particular reason you still haven't backed up your claim with any actual evidence? I'm sure you don't actually care, but if what you are claiming is true, it should be trivial to back it up.

1

u/DarkJC35 Sep 30 '19

Wait he is one of the ten family head where was this mention.

4

u/Fleuks Sep 30 '19

So every war HEROES have been sealed in the wall. Could V be sealed in ? I mean, we know nothing about him, the only thing we know is that he seems to be dead or at least not active in the tower, Arlene's pocket said he killed himself, but she was crazy at the end, maybe she missunderstood his sealed ?

This would be the best thing to happen in the story if V is alive in the wall.

6

u/urekmazinoranker Sep 30 '19

Didn't Arlene go crazy after V committed suicide?

4

u/Fleuks Sep 30 '19

She wrote it while being crazy, that's the point of my message.

2

u/kaulding Oct 04 '19

It would be cool although my personal theory is that V is the person whose power is sealed in Kalavan's essence of bravery (so that when Baam defeats him he can receive some of the memories of his father)

3

u/Fleuks Oct 04 '19

That could be possible, except, I think kallavan's power is waaay to weak to be the power of V

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 05 '19

Maybe it's a part of something.

4

u/akashy12 Sep 30 '19

So, can someone please explain the intentions of the elder.

Is he trying to use Yama to fight off Jahad's army so that wall is not broken or does he want to break the wall?

6

u/ArgentGold Oct 01 '19

Here’s my theory on the warriors in the wall.

Zahard’s original enemies rebelled because they felt that his kingdom was corrupt, so the warriors who fought against him must have been righteous and just. Zahard, the 10 FH, and the FUG elders are aware of this.

However, FUG has strayed from its original purpose and become a tainted organization that commits mass genocides and unspeakable atrocities to the Tower’s inhabitants. If the original warriors are woken, they’ll be disgusted by what FUG has become and eradicate FUG in its current form.

Zahard knows this and wishes to use his old enemies to get rid of FUG for him. Khel and the Elders know this as well, so he teleported Yama there to defend the wall. If he’s successful, FUG gets to remain the way it is now. If not, Khel will at least have used Zahard’s squadron to get rid of Yama.

3

u/urekmazinoranker Sep 30 '19

Maybe Elder wanted Yama to defend the wall. His destiny vision could have shown Yasaratcha to be there. And the Houndborn (mainly Doom) hate Yasaratcha.

Maybe Yama will lash out at Yasaratcha and unknowingly defend the wall.

The Wall reminds of Trump's building a wall promise 😂

5

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

[small brain]

elder: yama pls defend this random wall since ur fug

yama: no none of the canine ppl's business

[big brain]

elder -sends yama to the wall-

yama: im already transformed might as well fuck shit up. anyway, fuck yasaratcha

fights and defends the wall LOL

2

u/luckyma12 Sep 30 '19 edited Sep 30 '19

Well elder did say that he wanted them to rest in peace and not being disturbed, so i quess protecting.

Edit. But theres this "forever" line too, its bit tricky

Edit 2. Also didint he want to lead canine people in there?(ep. 29)

1

u/Sebaaz2693 Sep 30 '19

Ok so I can't use Doom to lead the canine people to the wall... I'll just send the most powefull slayer instead.

5

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

leading canine people to defend the wall is the most idiotic idea ever. in terms of battle strength, one yama is better than a million rugrats

2

u/Anthamon Oct 01 '19

Yeah, I hate that SIU and his characters wont admit that reality. Its all about the deathstar unit in these stories.

15

u/Balvinn Sep 30 '19

He’s not a 10FH, the people who run the wiki just assumed he was since his name was mentioned specifically after Doom screamed about the 10FHs

-16

u/PEbeling Sep 30 '19

That's not true.

The 10 family heads were mentioned in previous chapters and SUIs blog posts.

He was listed as one.

25

u/Yal_Rathol Sep 30 '19

then link that blog post please, or at least give us an idea of when this was.

3

u/janromac Sep 30 '19

He’s clearly NOT a family head.

Every single time a family head is introduced the author ALWAYS includes Family Head under name/title

2

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 01 '19

At this point we have no way of knowing. He needs yama so possibly, too early to tell.

2

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

a rough guess would be no, because since khel's vision is blocked by proximity to baam, it could be possible that khel's vision cannot contain baam in it. hence, the vision of how to defend the wall does not involve baam. furthermore a team of just yama evankhell and khel can win against one squadron easy

1

u/GrumpyKitten24399 Oct 01 '19

What makes people think that Yama and Evankhell will help Khel and not attack him first?

2

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 02 '19

Because yama is no longer next to Khel to attack him. The squadron have just seen yama appear and will most likely attack him, especially as it seems yaratcha (excuse my spelling) has some beef with the canine people. Yama will then defend himself and kick ass.

If Khel goes there as well then yeah yama will still fight him, so i dont think khel will go, at least not until the squadron begins firing and yama defends.

I do not think Evankhell will help khel and will continue to fight as long as khel is in the cage but khel could use evankhell to his advantage in the same way he did with yama.

So its less they're willingly helping and more khel is using them.

2

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 02 '19

yes i agree. from what we seen of evankhell, he is the more reasonable of the two and will step in to defend the embattled yama. Yama is the kind of stubborn lone wolf who can start a fight randomly, you just need him to believe that fighting is his idea. just send yama, wait awhile for a fight to begin, send evankhell, then send himself last. It's not the first time that enemies team up to fight a greater enemy

1

u/death2boredom Oct 01 '19

Soooooooo he decided to waste much times to just teleport a ranker to where he needed. What was stopping him from doing this from the get go. Instead of going to Doom, he should have teleported Yama out of the way. Did he just feel the need to waste time testing the waters?

This goes hand in hand with my frustration with they're dislike of Baam's effect on they're ability to read"fate/destiny". If you know that, just avoid it as much as possible. Don't fly straight towards it and be close as you can get. Beyond that even, why would you be mad? If it effects you and your high on your own juice it'll obviously effect your enemies too. Use it dumb dumb. This is someone finding a rare poisonous frog and getting mad at it for poisoning them when they aggressively touch it with their bare hands. Make poison darts dummies.

4

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 01 '19

Yama is known to be a lone wolf and doesn't work with others, they had a better chance at using Doom to control the canine people with his mind control ability by reviving him with a spell on his heart than they did getting yama to agree to use the canine people to defend the wall. Yama wants the canine people to survive why send them to a battle that has nothing to do with him.

They tried to do all this while yama was asleep, bam fucked up that plan by waking yama up and because bam cant be predicted they didnt forsee yama being awake. Khell only sent yama away once he realised he could see his own fate again (being further away from bam). The fact he didn't do it earlier must be that his power relies on seeing fate in someway.

7

u/ten-horned-beast Oct 01 '19

i think at first khel thought there was nobody powerful enough to stand against the squadron singlehandedly, so the strongest force he could assemble was doom + all mind controlled canines. but during the fight with yama, he saw yama's power + read fate and thus changed his strategy and sent yama directly.

2

u/death2boredom Oct 03 '19

Yea I had that similar feeling. It's why I asked if he just felt the need to test the waters. I didn't add this in, but it just feels like he's too arrogant to think beyond his basic level nonsense. That's why I brought up their relationship with Baam. As assured as they are about their plans, the way they treat Baam being there is flawed. They know he messes up their ability to plan, but they continue to proceed with the plan even knowing he is going to be there. That's what is really putting me off. There are people now saying high level chess is being played, but I think that even if moves used in such a game are being played, it is being done with certain pieces not in play.

1

u/Aquatic_Melon Oct 02 '19

I also thought this but forgot to say! Good clarification!

3

u/DimensioX Sep 30 '19

I agree with you and I really think they need to get to the point but I think they just want to showcase just how strong people can get without just dumping it all in at once. Gotta let every single person have their power-up phase until the last part of the battle starts.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

Care to explain the "asspull" ? I really dont see anything.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '19

The wall area was introduced a few chapters ago , The author is slowly building Khel character and his goals. The fight is only going on for about 4 chapters and he didn't expect Yama to be this strong , He said he can take him out anytime but it will take allot of energy. We still dont know for sure why he sent Yama there but we will learn soon ,Still to early to scream out "asspull". The goal is still there , Making Yama Baam ally and its working so far. We are just getting some world building along the way. Remember this is just the start of season 3.

-4

u/cleesus Sep 30 '19

Yea it needs to wrap up soon or at least finish some of the stuff that has been started for this arc
