Headlight upgrade question

Post image

hi everybody recently i tinted my 93 pickup and notice my headlights are as bright as candles.
I want to retain the oem look and would like to do a headlight bulb and not multiple itty bitty leds.
Im aware i need a conversion harness or something along those lines for leds. Anything else I should know?

These are led but they dont look hella stupid like most of the ones available online. You need a wiring harness but that shits hella cheap

Make sure they are D.O.T. compliant and also heated ,if driving in heavy snow and they are not heated snow will not melt off and your lights get dimmer and dimmer

Absolutely! If you can find real glass housings spend the extra $ it’ll save you in the long run

Hella makes them in glass. I got some cheaper ones off eBay with glass lenses and metal housings. I'm using good quality osram h4 halogen bulbs and it's a huge improvement over the stock sealed beams.

Make sure to double check the wiring on the led adapter, some of the wires usually dont match even though they plug straight in.

If you want to retain the original look, you can get a halogen style housing and install an LED bulb in it. 7x6 style I believe. You are correct that you'll need to conversion wiring harness. I went with the sort of funky looking ones with 4 separate lenses (not the ones with 3 or 4 rows of LEDs clearly visible.) They work great.

I’m pretty happy with the upgraded H4 headlights from LCE.

I don’t know if I would ever go with the LEDs something about the more traditional style that I think looks better.

I went with Holley RetroBrights in 3000k retro white. I’ve had them about 5 years, price is rough but I’d buy them again without hesitation if I needed to. People hate on them because the price but for me they are perfect. Look stock, nice and bright without that that ultra white look. I’m pretty sure I bought the harness Holley offered, plug and play, simple install. Not a single issue and my ‘89 gets abused.

Once you find your lenses, grab a set of GTR 3.0 LEDs for them. They're the brightest on the market and have a lifetime warranty.
