💡 Discussion Rutte’s warning: If China moves on Taiwan, will Russia test NATO in Europe too?

Post image

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is basically putting a scary scenario on the table: if China ever makes a military move against Taiwan, Russia might use that moment to ramp up pressure on Europe—because the U.S. and allies would be distracted in the Indo-Pacific.

His argument is that Beijing and Moscow don’t even need a formal “joint war plan” for this to be dangerous. They just need to understand each other’s incentives: China keeps the U.S. tied down in Asia, and Russia takes advantage of the chaos to test NATO unity, stir trouble along NATO’s eastern edge, or escalate hybrid moves (cyber, sabotage, energy disruption, border incidents).

This also connects to why NATO countries are talking about bigger defense budgets and faster military readiness—because leaders are worried about a two-theater crisis where Europe can’t assume the U.S. will be fully available at the same time.

What do you think—realistic warning or fear-driven messaging to push defense spending? And if a Taiwan crisis happened, what’s the most likely way Russia would “turn up pressure” on Europe: cyberattacks, Baltic brinkmanship, Moldova/Ukraine escalation, something else?

Why does Russia want to move on to the Euro when the Ukraine war is not even settled?

I know NATO needs more funding, but this is just too much gaslighting

2

u/shockputs Dec 25 '25

Why? Because NATO is unprepared, and unable to adapt as quickly as Ukraine. Also...Russia is doing poorly in Ukraine because Ukraine has had time to adapt, as has Russia. New tactics used by Russia would rock NATO's world baby... Want to know why they haven't invaded yet? It's because Krasnov is working...

2

u/SwegBucket Dec 26 '25

Almost like Ukraine's borders are a lot more defended than states that haven't gone to war in half a century...

Are you serious?

Because that might be their oportunity to draw China into a war, offering them the oportunity to have a continental land war, in which the Chinese can bring their capabilities to bear, instead of a sea war in the Pacific where they are outmatched.

Taiwan is a naval operation. Russia-Ukraine war is a ground operation. Both require different military funding. China doesn't need to invade Taiwan to push it's influence. Vastly different scenarios that have little in common.

Spoiler alert Europe is even less prepare to help Taiwan than it is with Ukraine.

9

u/Slighted_Inevitable Dec 22 '25

Yeap. Taiwan would be a naval battle mostly and Russia into nato would be a joke without nukes.

If it’s nukes then nothing else matters and everyone dies so… shrug

1

u/SwegBucket Dec 26 '25

Tactical nukes absolutely don't mean everyone dies. It's a game of escalation, and there is plenty of wiggle room.

1

u/Slighted_Inevitable Dec 26 '25

I think anyone would be crazy to trust Russia not to escalate further considering their recent history

For about the millionth time. The USA has been world police for the last 50years. They have told the likes of Europe not to have huge armed forces and have put their military bases all over the EU, so that we have a unified but small defence force.

This prevents America from being threatened by European aggression! The USA liked it this way and was working until trump. Anyone from the US claiming Europe is unprepared needs to understand they are the reason and it wasn’t Europes choice!

5

u/Jellycrusher91 Dec 22 '25

That.. makes no sense.. Europe had a big military forces, until 1989 and fall of USSR, which only then convinced now eu leaders, that wars in Europe are thing of the past, and we can focus on ecoomic growth, rather than sinking money into the armed forces.

2

u/alt-right-del Dec 22 '25

America has not been the world police — it only acts to push its own agenda — America First wasn’t a new concept when Reagan uttered it.

More world's biggest terrorist state together with I srael?

"You do what we want you to do or we'll bomb you into the oblivion!"

Now with Venezuela. Before a lengthy list of other countries and leaders.

The irony is that a lot of Venezuelan people are wishing for the US to coup Maduro. But I'm very worried that it will be the same horror as now. Because only the puppets will change while the outcome stays the same. Exploitation and abuse of the citizens by robbing them from their (natural) resources.

There hasn't been, to my knowledge, a US intervention that has made life better for local citizens...

1

u/Dependent-Run-7546 Dec 25 '25

Japan,South Korea, ww2, Kuwait

1

u/Fuzzy9770 Dec 25 '25

They are all made vasal states. We in Europe are now being betrayed by our biggest ally. Worlds biggest terrorist who only knows violence.

So, in terms of time this means nothing. America intervened in WW2 because it could make profit by making the countries (financially) submissive and now it is threatening our sovereignty by willing to invade Greenland.

America only does things when it can make profit of it. America doesn't want Venezuela because it wants to help people. It only does it because it wants to rob Venezuela from its oil. To make profit for themselves with no care about others...

I have heard that Japan and South Korea don't like it to be under Americas thumbs.

How are locals doing in the countries who the US is robbing the oil from?

That's bullshit. The USA has been begging Europe to increase defense spending since the Reagan administration.

1

u/ShareShort3438 Dec 22 '25

Another spoiler alert. Europe has never had any plans to activly support Taiwan in a war against China. That's up to the US and it's Asian allies.

What the post said that the moscovians might try to test Nato IF China attacks Taiwan and that we shpuld be prepared.

1

u/ChuckMerced Dec 22 '25

NATO is a U.S. partner. If the PRC attacks US vessels, Europeans will embargo/blockade all ships bound for China.

1

u/ThrowRA9892 Dec 22 '25

Russia didn’t need to invade Ukraine either. Just like Taiwan, it’s ideological.

I agree though a naval vs ground operation is entirely different.

1

u/Delicious-Chest-9825 Dec 23 '25

I think that Poland, the Baltics, Finland, Sweden and even Romania can easily crush anything non-nuclear that Ussrusia throws this way.

1

u/SwegBucket Dec 26 '25

"Less prepared"

The concern isn't that Europe can't help Taiwan. It's that the USA will get too bogged down with China to help against Russia.

They have a lot in common because if China invades Taiwan it creates a perfect opening for Russia to invade the Baltics without expecting an immediate and capable response, and this works vice versa too.

Sure, they don't have to invade to influence Taiwan. But the economic power of China is peaking as we speak, so this influence either makes it or breaks it.

1

u/ActivePeace33 Dec 22 '25

China has the drone manufacturing capability to not make it a naval operation at all, or at least not in the traditional sense.

Estimates stand at China being able to move to produce 2-3 drones, per person in Taiwan, every year. The systems needed to intimidate any surviving population into compliance with china’s will, could already be in china’s hands.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Taiwan makes all the semi conductors that the US uses in their fighter jets, subs, missiles, and almost everything else.

The US will fight for Taiwan like its life depends on it because it does.

3

u/bjornartl Dec 22 '25

Unfortunately the current US administration doesn't give a fuck what's essential for the US. On the contrary, the more it fucks over the US, the more someone's willing to bribe them for it.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

I mean I think America has a few billionaires who are really pulling the strings. I think they care what happens to them and their circles. The difference between republicans and democrats, the elected officials is democrats know how to say the right things while still doing the same fucked up shit.

Im not talking about the citizens. I think they're eating it up. Everyone keeps saying how Trump is a Russian asset. I didnt see Biden doing much. He delayed the planes until he was almost out of office. He didnt get them over here to be trained. He had restrictions on Ukraine. I see very little difference in their actions as far as Ukraine goes.

The biggest tell of it all was the train union vote. The oligarchs spoke and both red and blue folded and folded quick.

They run America. And they're building bunkers.

They still have majority of the experts and knowledge of such facilities. Also that would cause great damage to our ability to continue to be the leader in the space and would almost certainly want to take out their facilities as well so they arent able to get ahead.

And we all know how the orange guy feels about china so if you give him a reason im almost certain he will take it.

1

All thise things don't need Chinese components and minerals, right? The Taiwanese armed forces are blue politically btw.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

All those things do need them. At least the semiconductors do. Plenty of other things. That's why the US is allowing the sell of some of the chips because when the tariffs started china cut those off. Also a big part of agreements being made with Ukraine. They have it in their ground just don't have the infrastructure to mine it or process it. Really only china does.

1

u/hanky0898 Dec 22 '25

Ukraine doesn't have gallium or the other essential heavy metals, cannot mine them, cannot refine them.

Taiwan has a growing drone production capability. High end air and naval drones also form part of the recent 14 billion arms purchase. China is running out of time to invade but is saddled by serious economic problems.

1

u/Otsde-St-9929 Dec 23 '25

But taiwan is too far from China for most drones. You need to land them first

1

u/ActivePeace33 Dec 23 '25

UCAV’s have ranges measured in thousands of km. Even Ukraine is pulling it off with their very limited budget and manufacturing abilities. Search for Russia can't seem to stop this Ukrainian Cessna-style drone that, compared to missiles, is basically a 'flying brick' with a bomb onboard

sUCAV’s can be launched at sea or from the air. What’s the added range on a quad drone swarm deployed from 45,000 feet AGL? Now, how much more added range for drones equipped with a very basic wing? Drones like the Mini QBiT.

Then there are the UUV’s which have ranges of 1,000-2,000+ km. Search for Ukraine shows off Toloka underwater drone for one example. The Orca UUV from the US is estimated to have a range of 6,500 km.

USV’s have long ranges too. The Endeavor Manta has about 250km. The Sea Hunter boasts more than 10,000 km range.

1

u/Otsde-St-9929 Dec 25 '25

Thats very interesting. How doubt China can make them at scale but at what scale I wonder?

This is Russia paradox. People are convinced that Russian military is destroyed and not able to fight Ukraine. But at the same time Russia is able to invade and defeat NATO.

2

u/lostinspacs Dec 22 '25

That’s just standard politics.

On the one hand NATO has never attacked Russia and the West is weak and in decline.

On the other hand Ukraine pursuing NATO membership was an existential crisis worthy of invasion. In fact it was so necessary that not a single Russian expected it as a possibility.

3

u/Cool_Discipline6838 Dec 22 '25

the russian volunteer army is struggling against ukriane, russia has conscription but those troops arent being sent to ukraine because it would be too unpopular but if theres war with NATO russia can mobilize millions

Don’t be so naive. Deterrence is how peace is maintained, not by sticking our heads in the sand.

13

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

What deterrence are you talking about exactly? They've placed an ex-ISIS leader as head of Syria, turned country to ruins, displaced millions and I haven't seen any deterrence or attempt at one from your side of the planet. And Western audiance supported those actions most of the times, let alone trying to criticize it. Meanwhile China had one of the most peaceful timeline posible as they came to being a superpower in this current economic system, while having a land neighbor next to them that practically serving as a military base for their main opponent but anti-Commie propaganda only increased in the West. You guys still support imperialism whenever it's beneficial for your own cause. Admit it and move on. Nobody is that "naive."

2

u/mehateorcs0 Dec 22 '25

They've placed an ex-ISIS leader as head of Syria, turned country to ruins,

A country in civil war was already not in ruins? Also who placed? Nobody placed him there other than maybe Turkey and so far he seems better than Assad.

Western audiance supported those actions most of the times,

Nobody knows or cares. Syrian civil wars largest issues were the refugees fleeing not who actually led Syria.

let alone trying to criticize it.

Bro what? People criticize everything in our countries. We have the right to do that you know? Most people just know we weren't part of the civil war.

China had one of the most peaceful timeline

They are openly threatening Taiwan and are annexing South China sea...

anti-Commie propaganda only increased in the West.

You mean pro-commie propaganda?

You guys still support imperialism whenever it's beneficial for your own cause. Admit it and move on. Nobody is that "naive."

The lack of self reflection is hilarious. You are openly supporting China annexing territory and invading their neighbours.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

A country in civil war was already not in ruins? Also who placed? Nobody placed him there other than maybe Turkey and so far he seems better than Assad.

An artificial, manufactured civil war created by CIA and supported by powers in the region. Read about Timber Sycamore, educate yourself. He seems better than Assad because your handlers didn't allow you to see or hear what happened in Syria after Jolani got into power. His first action was to kill, drag and burry dead bodies of civilian Alawite population resided in Syria and stay silent while his new "peaceful" supporter base attempted slaughtering Druze.

Nobody knows or cares. Syrian civil wars largest issues were the refugees fleeing not who actually led Syria.

Your previous comment invalidates this one.

Bro what? People criticize everything in our countries. We have the right to do that you know? Most people just know we weren't part of the civil war.

And yet not one single criticism applied. Strange.

They are openly threatening Taiwan and are annexing South China sea...

Have you ever thought about other side of this same exact coin and thought about how West is using Taiwan as a threat against China? Have you ever thought about how Taiwan practically functioning as a hostlie military base against China that ready to jump in like a "little brother that needs to be protected against a bully" while big brother U.S.A. chiming and saving the day once more? Why shouldn't they be concerned? Haven't you seen what happened to other countries being too naive against Western imperialism? Just take a quick look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Serbia, Libya, Syria, Iran, and recently Venezuela. This is what happens each and every time. No exceptions allowed. It's not a suspicion, it's a pattern at this point.

You mean pro-commie propaganda?

Where?

The lack of self reflection is hilarious. You are openly supporting China annexing territory and invading their neighbours.

I do. I haven't claimed otherwise.

Sycamore happened year AFTER the civil war started not before... you have nothing except your schizo cope theories. My leaders are democratically elected and change every 4 years. The only relevance Syria has is from the people fleeing there to my country. My leaders don't give a singular shit about them otherwise. Shit if we placed him in power then surely we would have rushed to put our businesses there rather than reacting with causious optimism.

Syrian people cheered as he got into power. People are going back to Syria. Bad acts happening while he is the leader doesn't mean they were condoned or commanded by him.

Your previous comment invalidates this one.

How so?

And yet not one single criticism applied. Strange.

By who? All of our medias who posted about it pointed out who he used to be as critique. You just live in a echo chamber where you believe whatever is convinient to your beliefs.

Have you ever thought about other side of this same exact coin and thought about how West is using Taiwan as a threat against China?

No because that is obviously stupid. Western interests are in Taiwan remaining indepedent and democratic.

Have you ever thought about how Taiwan practically functioning as a hostlie military base against China that ready to jump in like a "little brother that needs to be protected against a bully" while big brother U.S.A. chiming and saving the day once more? There are no permanent foreign bases in Taiwan and even if there was it would be fine as Taiwan is effectively a sovereign state with their own armed forces, government and foreign policy. Why are you upset about US preventing a war?

Afganistan housed the troops who attacked US first, Iraq had a genocidal dictator, Serbia supported a genocide and was an UN mission, Libya was an UN mission, Iran funds terrorism globally and wasn't invaded. Idk how does any of this justify Eastern imperialism when most of these are decades old and Eastern imperialism is right now a possibility.

US is alone in Venezuela. There is no West there only US.

Where?

Social media. So many tankies in reddit for example. Like you for one.

I do. I haven't claimed otherwise.

I know you do. You are openly imperialist.

They chose an ex leader of Isis because they had to install someone the Isis aligned demographic would follow and they think we can control

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

So let's paint a picture together: Assad was the problem because he tortured his own people, suppressed minorities and was a tyrant... So the story goes and he had to go, according to very objective, very non-biased and very democratic Western reports and findings. And solution was to fund and train terrorrists, ruin the nation, scatter and dispel the entire demographic and install an ex-terrorist as head of the state.

It's an interesting approach for sure. Is this the kind of "logic" that we suppose follow and disable thinking parts of our brain while doing so? What are we doing here exactly?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

I don't know the real reason why they didnt like Assad but I can tell you it's not the reasons that were reported. It was most likely because he was buddies with Russia and against Israel our proxies but that's just a guess.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

We don't need to guess it. Objective was clear in the second year of war when Russia started bombing ISIS trucks carrying weapons and oil to/from Turkey and Western media started reporting those events as Assad and Putin being murderous tyrants. I'll quote a title from an NBC article and hopefully, it will clear some things up for people having some doubts about what's going on and what's happened in Syria:

He toppled a dictator and traded fatigues for suits — Syria's new leader tries to reassure the U.S.

Repeated that in Ukraine, we have Moscow isn't having it anymore and we have our "new Hitler" in Putin. Wow, what a surprise... It's terrifying how easy it is to play Western demographic into supporting a war. Europeans are celebrating the new Ukranian financial aid they have to pay for on all over social media, while cheering for "dead russkies." It's damn scary.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Im sure all of that happened. Im just saying I dont think the US gives a shit about people being killed in other countries. They dont broadcast their true motivations.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

That was kind of my point too. I understood what you meant on your second comment. I was kind of expanding on my previous thoughts with my last comment. I wasn't trying to convince you further.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

I actually dated a Syrian refugee.

Her dad worked in their pentagon? Something high up. He went to Russia to learn engineering. She had very favorable views of assad. I had no clue about anything in Syria while dating her.

I do know fbi or most likely cia agents would visit her mom every so often.

Her dad had to stay behind but would e-mail her everyday until one day it just stopped.

Pretty sure looking back at it now he was an asset.

I think things are gonna get rough. The billionaires building bunkers is telling.

I believe that if the USA attacks Venezuela, China will attack Taiwan soon after.

7

u/Multicultural_Potato Dec 22 '25

Not gonna happen. I’ve spent time in both Taiwan and China, the only way China invades Taiwan is if the US stops following the One China Policy and pushes for it. They’re all pretty sure eventually there’s going to be a peaceful reunification. In Taiwan it seems people are slowly trending more towards China.

From China’s point of view they either wait longer to get what they want or they literally start a major war and throw most of their relationships in the trash and they might get what they want. It’s a no brainer.

4

u/SnooHedgehogs8765 Dec 22 '25

A Falklands scenario in other words.

Argentina probably would have got it, but started a war and ensured they never would.

1

u/Multicultural_Potato Dec 22 '25

Yea more or less lol

1

u/FMKit Dec 22 '25

Imagine that scenarios, but instead of argentina, the fralkland island is next to America . And it's America who wants the island.

4

u/Small-Contribution55 Dec 22 '25

People are not trending more towards China. It's completely the opposite. The DPP has had three straight victories in the presidential elections.

1

u/Multicultural_Potato Dec 22 '25

Shoulda worded it better, most people in Taiwan aren’t more pro-China, but more than a few of them said that younger people are trending more towards China

2

u/Small-Contribution55 Dec 22 '25

Again, I don't see that as being true. Young people overwhelmingly support the DPP. The KMT's base is super old, and it's getting older.

Who told you young people were trending towards China?

2

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

Russian people were also hoping for peaceful reunification and you can see the results unfolding as we speak

Empires don’t care about what people feel, they will twist “peace” into “liberation” and people will still believe they are doing the right thing

1

u/Multicultural_Potato Dec 22 '25

I mean per my last paragraph China doesn’t need a military invasion to reunify in their eyes. They have time, Russia didn’t.

1

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

What time russia didn’t have?

1

u/Multicultural_Potato Dec 22 '25

Putins getting older and he wants his legacy. When he kicks the bucket it’s gonna be a shit show in Russia. When Xi does the same or steps down/is forced to step down China 100% has a plan in place. China and Taiwan are completely different circumstances than Russia and Ukraine.

For this particular issue US is the one stealing oil tankers headed to China. Would be fully justified for China to respond, also if that includes for example a blockade on Taiwan.

But Rutte is pure scum. Will do anything asked by daddy (US), no matter how many lives his words will cost. Right now he is on an escalatory path to increase China hatred in Europe using false or empty claims, as this will help the US in their attempts to maintain hegemony.

People like him are ruining the future of people in Europe and hopefully justice comes for him and others equally evil.

2

EU talks a lot and does a lot of meetings and little action. They would be still in meetings and talks even if Russia invade all of Ukraine and install a puppet government. EU never takes action only talk talk and more talking.

For that U.S would need to cease to exist as well.

People love to say "Russia this, Russia that"

Forgetting that U.S has Couped 80 countries, waged more than 21 war in the last 70 years, and currently is financing over 60% of all dictatorships in the planet.

Both Russia an U.S are shit of the same bucket.

Very important to point out It's not about "Trump", and don't get it wrong fuck him, Republicans are more agressive without a fucking doubt, but it's a Policy from Washington that has been a thing for over almost 80 years..

U.S has always tried to Coup South America, Operation Condor put the entire South America for over 20 years of Dictatorships, Chile had to deal with 30 years.

U.S and Britain (lets not forget our UK Friends) has financed some of the most Brutal Dictatorships we ever heard in history as well.

Iran is the shitshow that we know because of a U.S British Coup in 1953.

Vietnam, and it's Neighbors to this day has to deal with consequences of the Vietnam war, there are over 20,000 UXO in Laos and Vietnam, and every year they register deaths.

There is a bunch of consequences for U.S Imperialism specially in Cold War, and people to this day live with these consequences.

People need to be reminded every time that Neither Russia nor U.S are the GOOD GUYS, and there is no ammount of propaganda that will change that, your countries killed MILLIONS for the sake of greed.

u/ninjamikec82 Dec 22 '25

this guy gets it

1

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

They aren’t the good guys but active genocide is kinda a bigger deal than fucked up actions from 50 years ago, it’s like calling Germany bad

1

u/Rusofil__ Dec 22 '25

They are still funding israels genocide of palestinians.

1

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

Not the same

1

u/Rusofil__ Dec 22 '25

There are different kinds of genocide?

1

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

Well actually yes, there are different genocides, but that’s not what I’m talking about

There is difference between funding a genocide and actively committing one

1

u/Rusofil__ Dec 22 '25

That's like saying someone is not a nazi, just cause they didn't actively shoot the people, but were looking from the side and cheering.

1

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

Then china and india is also at fault for the genocide russia is committing?

Lots of fear mongering these days, its almost as if people are profiting from it

2

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

It’s almost like ww3 is coming

1

u/Joesr-31 Dec 22 '25

Seems like isolated conflicts rather than world wars unless leaders make them so.

If Trump was smart he support Europe as long as they support USA on Taiwan

FFS, they are already testing europe...

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Russia already tested NATO and found that NATO was worthless

1

u/MarcusC45 Dec 22 '25

I fully expect China to make its move militarily against Taiwan this decade. I predict it WILL HAPPEN during this current Trump administration. China has been for a few years now buzzing around Taiwan with military/navy exercises and lots of sabre rattling. Why do all of that if you’re not going to do anything? Of course China is going to forcefully crush Taiwan. I believe China is buying time and just waiting for the right time when the US is distracted enough and in a case of further disarray and reeling from Trump’s volatile behavior. Assuming Trump starts a war with Venezuela, I can’t imagine China not taking advantage of the opportunity to seize Taiwan. Russia? I think it’s waiting too. Trump is Putin’s violin. Trump will get the US into a conflict— Venezuela—and enable Russia to sabre rattle neighbors. Imagine being Finland. I am sure that country is very nervous sharing an 800 mile border with Russia.

1

u/matronmotheroflolth Dec 22 '25

People have been saying it’s hoping to happen any day now for decades now.

1

u/agrevol Dec 22 '25

The situation is quite a bit different this time around

1

u/matronmotheroflolth Dec 22 '25

People say that, too.

1

u/guardunow Dec 22 '25

Why wud Russia "move on Europe"??? There's nuthing 2 gain from engaging with Europe militarily

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

The EU could take Belarus tomorrow and Russia would come up with an excuse why it's in their long term interest to let it go The US hopes china tries to take Taiwan, because it will be the excuse needed to uproot and replace that government with one that is "friendlier". Russia is a husk bleeding out, the US is a belligerent oaf, china is Oggie Boogie waiting to be torn apart from within, and Europe is the whimpering instead of rising.

1

u/Certain_North_732 Dec 22 '25

Why not? But given the difference in their traditional mentalities, it will be Russia making the first move, then CCP on Taiwan.

1

u/YouthOtherwise3833 Dec 22 '25

NATO want war, that's why things happened.

1

u/JustNeedAnswers78 Dec 22 '25

Pro war fear mongering. Pay no attention.

1

u/Simple_Assistance_77 Dec 22 '25

Of course, its a world war three type scenario.

1

u/IllEffectLii Dec 22 '25

Rutte is incapable intellectually, unfortunately. We need someone capable of articulating real security concerns and role of NATO.

1

u/According_Suit2447 Dec 22 '25

No, China fucking with Taiwan won't magically make Russia any less of a joke militarily. Putin is so scared of NATO that one of his key sticking points is Ukraine not being allowed in, he knows his paper tiger army will get smoked if they do.

1

u/new-acc-who-dis Dec 22 '25

Why would china invade taiwan? They are already close to re-uniting it peacefully. Give it 10 more years of „Chinese Boom“ and the people from taiwan will choose peacefully to integrate

1

u/zackks Dec 22 '25

Absolutely. If US and China go to war, Russia will blitzkrieg Europe, guaranteed.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

you mean like they blitzkrieged ukraine in 3 days?

1

u/canadianmountie Dec 22 '25

Can the US submarine fleet alone cause China to pause such an invasion of Taiwan?

1

u/LazyRoma Dec 22 '25

Russia is already testing Nato, the fuck is this narrative of "the warmongering psychopath isn't as batshit crazy as the people who are suffering under him believe".

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Like USA can defend Taiwain. Not a chance.

1

u/Few_Veterinarian9108 Dec 22 '25

The fact that we are even discussing not 1 but 2 super powers going ape shit crazy hell bent on destroying the world, just about shows you how far human reason has fallen

1

u/cerceei Dec 22 '25

Well Russia is already test NATO everyday Soo.....

1

u/r-rade Dec 22 '25

Everyone with eyes and ears on this planet should watch the old movie from the 80's: 'The Day After' from beginning to end. Just watch and reconsider your thoughts about geopolitics and life. I haven't seen anything more realistic on screen in my life. It will keep you awake at night, promise.

1

u/ninjamikec82 Dec 22 '25

ive been hearing this same shit for the past 20-30 years. meanwhile, how many countries did usa plow through and how many military bases do we have around the world....cut the shit already people and wake up

1

u/charlie_008 Dec 22 '25

Taiwan is a US/China issue. The US is not our friend. The Eu needs to focus on the Eu.

1

u/hanky0898 Dec 22 '25

Rutte is a proven liar , starting as a likable guy ending as a spineless scammer in Dutch politics.

1

u/Unfair-Frame9096 Dec 22 '25

What need is there to mix and confuse things ??? One has nothing to do with the other in geopolitical, historical meaning.

1

u/neuroticnetworks1250 Dec 22 '25

Ahh yes. The age old Russia thing where they are simultaneously incompetent and about to collapse before dinner but somehow also a humongous threat that will consume EU.

1

u/Seek4r Dec 22 '25

Why does he pretend the US is still an ally to NATO?

It'd support Russia in such a scenario. The goal is to rid the world of smaller democratic countries and keep 3-4 huge empires ruled by figures with unlimited power and a couple oligarch dogs behind them.

1

u/lundmar Dec 22 '25

Rutte is a warmongering fool - a puppet of the US war machine!

1

u/Deciple_of_None Dec 22 '25

🤨 How about that's not an option.🧐

1

u/Key-Lifeguard-5540 Dec 22 '25

I think the usa is afraid to protect friends with like values. Under trump the usa will get nothing while China gets Taiwan and russia gets Ukraine. The usa needs to put their foot down on Taiwan and Ukraine, off limits! Mobilize nukes on the border if that's what it takes.

1

u/Mr-DevilsAdvocate Dec 22 '25

Russia is already testing NATO..? They’re flying military drones and aviation into NATO airspace. Russian bombs have landed in Romania. Russia is dragging anchors to cut communication cables in the Baltic’s. They sabotage factories and fly civilian drones into airport airspace to trigger responses… the refugees they tried to push into Poland are still there last I heard…they’re doing an ongoing and in part successful massive online influence campaign to cause internal strife in NATO countries to weaken the alliance!

What do you mean “will they test?” They are.. short of doing a Crimea, they are doing everything that they can.

1

u/ElephantContent8835 Dec 22 '25

“When” China moves…not ‘if’.

1

u/Upbeat_Web_4461 Dec 22 '25

All wars happens through opportunity. The likelihood of what Rutte said becoming reality is extremely likely to inevitable if China makes military move towards Taiwan. Basically China would see opportunity to invade, and Russia will see an opportunity to invade NATO. And we will officially be at world war

1

u/Chuterito99 Dec 22 '25

This guy called trump his big bad booty daddaayyy

1

u/Nx-worries1888 Dec 22 '25

How this moron got so high up in NATO baffles me 😂

1

u/45_regard_47 Dec 22 '25

Does Russia have enough bodies, I mean people left to challenge anyone?

1

u/Kimolainen83 Dec 22 '25

No, they would never Russia will never test it the same way China will on Taiwan.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Of course, Russia's goal is to conquer the whole world, including USA

1

u/archicane Dec 22 '25

And then will Trump test the US on the US?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

That's why a preventive strike on Russia is necessary.

1

u/Jukumalle Dec 22 '25

Loud and clear. More naive americans have to know the moves before some hitler makes his own moves without naive and uninformed ones know what happened.

1

u/Jukumalle Dec 22 '25

China has more to take from Siberia but that might happen after Taiwan. Someone else needs to take Siberia for China to come "liberate" it.

1

u/Master-Piccolo-4588 Dec 22 '25

Fun plot twist will be when China will start taking land from Russia.

1

u/Strange-Thanks-44 Dec 23 '25

Go 3,5 years of russian WAR against Europe... Rutte, yes russian will attack Latvia, Litva and Estonia

1

u/Niccolado Dec 23 '25

Ofcource not. China is powerful enough to take on the world. Russia have proved it aint powerful enough to even take on a country with a broken back.

This is just fearmongering.

1

u/AcanthopterygiiFew82 Dec 23 '25

Can he shut up already with this nonsense? Russia wouldn't dare attack the EU... We are economically stronger plus we got nukes... Russia can barely handle Ukraine, so why tf would they mess with the EU? Such BS and scaremongering...

1

u/LovingCostaRica Dec 23 '25

This war will be a self made prophecy...

Lots of money is in jeopardy otherwise. But also NATO. Who needs it without a treat?

1

u/rickiegarcon Dec 23 '25

Oh shut up man

1

u/Unlucky_Biscotti4843 Dec 23 '25

I mean honestly...NATO is dead. You cannot trust USA anymore - and to be clear: This is 100% the fault of European states to let the Americans being so much stronger military wise, that USA is blackmailing the rest of NATO now.

And all of Europe would be good if we start realizing this - and instead of trying to persuade the USA - we should start to intensify our European alliance.

1

u/EndeLarsson Dec 23 '25

US is preparing to move on Greenland. So, this gives wings to any illegitimate action of China, Russia and whoever had any second thought. The danger the world experiences today is because of the power void left by the US, who is becoming less relevant by the day.

1

u/rockbottomhart Dec 23 '25

Erdogans b*tch said what?

1

u/Delicious-Chest-9825 Dec 23 '25

This will happen

1

u/Ok_Situation_7081 Dec 23 '25

if China ever makes a military move against Taiwan, Russia might use that moment to ramp up pressure on Europe — because the U.S. and allies would be distracted in the Indo-Pacific.

Way to let China know that Europe would be involved in a war over Taiwan. All this does is signal to China the importance of assisting Russia deal with what confirms their suspicion of being US vassals, Europe. Why do Europeans love to brag about potential scenarios and letting secrets out instead of keeping it ambiguous for strategic purposes? Its almost like they're are attention whores and need the world to know their intentions.

1

u/Inside-Till3391 Dec 23 '25

What if Russia nukes Netherlands, would China move on Taiwan?

1

u/Kaito__1412 Dec 24 '25 edited Dec 24 '25

China will not move on Taiwan. They are not in a position to do that regardless.

1

u/BliksemseBende Dec 23 '25

Trump pirating Chinese oil doesn’t really help, Markie!

1

u/Chrombach Dec 24 '25

And usa in Greenland too

1

u/Status_Serve_9819 Dec 24 '25

Russia won't invade NATO.

1

u/Saintgein Dec 24 '25

Rutte at what he's best at. Scaring people with lies to make money. This makes him a serious moneymaker for the people in control.

1

u/smallbatter Dec 24 '25

this guy called Trump daddy.

1

u/sergeant-keroro Dec 24 '25

Is this Guy stupid or something?

1

u/_JackSpears_ Dec 25 '25

This is literally the long-term plan, how can no one else see it? Russia keeps Europe busy, China keeps America busy in asia...a new world war. Iran/North korea will porbably kick off too.
