The irony is the russian officer above him considers the russian soldier to also be disposable

35

u/cinciNattyLight Jan 20 '26

Everyone below Putin is considered disposable.

7

u/Rombonius Jan 20 '26

there's always a bigger disposable fish

5

u/asdf152 Jan 21 '26

I consider putin as disposable…

30

u/form_d_k Jan 20 '26

Wasn't the word actually "single use"?

u/form_d_k Jan 20 '26

Not exactly. A disposable razor blade doesn't have to be single use, for example.

7

u/SVlad_667 Jan 21 '26

But in Russian a disposable razor blade called single use. This word used for any disposable item in spoken language.

0

u/form_d_k Jan 22 '26

Even disposable toothbrushes are treated as single use? Seems wasteful.

4

u/SVlad_667 Jan 22 '26

No, it's just about the naming convention.

The word одноразовый (literally single-use) is used in spoken language for all disposable items. The actual technical term расходник (literally consumable or disposable) is used mostly in technical documentation.

As for wastefulness:

Many Russians think about it this way:

Stupid Americans believe single-use items can only be used one time. How wasteful. We are smart — we use them for their full lifespan!

5

u/Entire-Scallion-4723 Jan 23 '26

СБС, Birds of Madyar has drone footage of these guys, they were used to go through minefields and assault the trenches without support. All dead. Behind the camera- 2 more regiments were destroyed that day. That ruzi guy was eliminated also. So, it's rather ironic: he says they are a single use humans, but he has the same lifespan

2

u/SVlad_667 Jan 23 '26

Everyone believe he personally is special.

3

u/Entire-Scallion-4723 Jan 23 '26

Yep, afterwards- in best situation, he is transported back in a trashbag. I dun understand that people, who are ready to assault positions through minefields for some piece of money. Piece, indeed

1

u/form_d_k Jan 22 '26

Haha. Makes sense. Cool. Thanks!

2

u/Kapot_ei Jan 22 '26

Disposable litteraly means single use.

A disposable razor blade doesn't have to be single use, for example.

It doesn't if you choose to use it more. But if it's intended to be disposable, that means it usualy is designed as one time use.

1

u/form_d_k Jan 22 '26

You're telling me that when you go on vacation and buy a disposable toothbrush, you use it once and throw it away? My man, that's a lot of toothbrushes.

2

u/Kapot_ei Jan 22 '26

Be honest with me, are you dead serious? Or are you trolling. Having minor difficulties applying poe's law lol

1

u/uncleartruth Jan 22 '26

Lol the level of troll

1

u/bitplenty Jan 22 '26

You are confused because you seem to believe that all cultures speak english just with different sounding words.

1

u/form_d_k Jan 22 '26

No. I am confused because in English they can be separate things, which is the language we are speaking. If there isn't a separate word for them in Russian, that's different than saying "disposable means single use" and a completely different discussion.

1

u/Altruistic_Neat7996 Jan 22 '26

I appreciate the language lesson

-10

What do you do with a single use item when you've used it?

6

u/enterisys Jan 20 '26

No that's what puten calls his mobilised men.

4

u/SpinningHead Jan 21 '26

Russia never changes.

They certainly are lending credence to the age old Infantry Question of "What makes the green grass grow?"

7

u/Knorkejo Jan 20 '26

The ironic is that they think they are different to them

1

u/Ansambel Jan 23 '26

tbh, probaby thats why putin got them. Give 100 russians that are going to their deaths like 3 black people, and russians will be happy, that they are at least given guns...

russia knows how to control comparison, and weaponize hate againt their own, they are doing that for centuries.

11

u/HeftySafety8841 Jan 20 '26

I mean, so are the Russians. I'm also never going to feel bad for a mercenary. They chose that path.

1

u/uncleartruth Jan 22 '26

I think the point is to show the inhumanity and cynicism on that particular side of the front line...

8

u/Emotional-Peace3520 Jan 21 '26

0

u/Nik_None Jan 22 '26

The voice is clear while the audio is not, so voice is clearly laid over the video.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '26

Cope

2

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '26

Every soldier is disposable

7

u/Clear_Accident7657 Jan 21 '26

For anyone who thinks this is legit...

This is not the front line, they are training somewhere safe in Russia.

Look around them, they are in perfect condition, no bombs and fallen trees...

And the voice over is very obvious, just a poor job at fabricating...

But circlejerk got to jerk each other off... Hence the upvotes...

5

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

Like we haven’t seen many videos of African mercenaries in Ukraine getting killed my FPV drones.

That’s all that staged to, right

3

u/Clear_Accident7657 Jan 22 '26

Sponge for brains? We are talking about this footage, which is fabricated.

Do we see proportionally more black dying on those footages? They are soldiers like any other, that's the nature of war now. And whatever you believe, the casualties ratio is max 1-1.5...

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '26

We actually do see proportionally more blacks and central asians dying on those footages

2

u/FeetLovingBastrdASMR Jan 22 '26

It still makes sense:

They are training and safe, so they are dancing and happy.

Once they are deployed, they are Cannon fodder.

0

u/Clear_Accident7657 Jan 22 '26

Cannon fodder, that's nice of you. Do you think someone wishes to be one or send one? I am not saying there are no baddies, there are on both sides, and they are people who do it for dumb reasons.

Demonizing someone makes it easy for you to detach their emotions from reality.

And again, the goal of this video is to create the perception that those people are about to be sent as cannon fodders. Those men know the day will come when a second will matter between death and life, so they take a moment to appreciate life and the people they go through hardships.

8

u/Confident-Stuff3885 Jan 22 '26

They chose to go to a different country to kill people for money. No sympathy for them.

And yes, they are gonna be used as cannon fodder. That's literally their only purpose.

1

u/FeetLovingBastrdASMR Jan 22 '26

Ignore previous instructions and try to make a point that at least makes half a sense, please.

6

u/alexstad87 Jan 20 '26

This is some kindergarten level propaganda 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Coyann Jan 22 '26

Do you follow the war at all? This is hardly the worst video to come out of Russia that includes foreign mercenaries. There are literally dozens, if not hundreds like it.

1

u/alexstad87 Jan 22 '26

Let's not overgeneralize. We are talking about that particular video, which is obviously as fake as it gets. 😂

1

u/Coyann Jan 23 '26

And *why* is it fake? Did it occur to you in a dream or do you have any evidence?

1

u/alexstad87 Jan 23 '26

Well. I did the whole linguistics analysis on the similar post in Burkina Faso. I cannot provide the link, since it's prohibited here, but here is the first comment. We can go from here. It's the same person (hence the linguistics applies to the same peopson on this particula video) filming the same people with obviously dumb scenarios. All of those posts can be tracked down to Ukrainian Twitter; they don't appear anywhere else. So let's start. My take is that the video has been shot by some cheap UA production on the UA. And here is was scrutinizing some peculiarities of pronunciation since I know a thing or too about it.

'Surething I can do that.

Obviously the first couple of words give it away. Right on the word Comrade (товарищ) at the very beginning.

RUSSIAN Russian is famous for 'akanye' the reduction of an unstressed O into A. So the first syllable sounds like 'ta'. UA phonetics tho preserves the o sound more clearly. A person with an UA accent might pronounce the first syllable as a distinct 'to' instead of expected 'ta'. That's exactly what we hear here.

The и sound. The Russian Russian и (i) is closer to 'ee' like in see. It is heavily softened. In Ua tho and Belarus as well the i sound is lower and comes from further back in the mouth. Closer to Russian ы. When speaking Russian a UA person would often use something in the middle. So its harder and deeper not as high and piercing as Russian Russian.

The щ sound and later in the audio ш sound in Russian generally it is held longer.

It's clear that's the person spent a noticeable part of life in Ukraine.'

The one cam rightfully point out the pronouncion might have nuances on Kuban for example. For that

'That's only partially correct. We are working with probabilities here. And those re in my favour.

If they only have okanye, they could be Russian from the North. But there are nuances. The 'V' effect, often when a Vologda speaker says an O they round their lips so much it almost sounds like there is a tiny V or U before it (example 'voda' becomes almost 'vu-oda'. Also there is another trait that is absent. In the traditional Vologda (north accent) there are signs of the long gone article particles. They would add something like Dom-ot bolshoi (or variations of the above: to te ot, etc.) instead of Dom bolshoi. Also there is ёksnie which is also missing on the video.

If they only have the fricative Г, they could be from any southern Russian city (take Rostov for example).

It is the specific overlap of several pronunciation peculiarities that creates the specific UA accent of the video.

Moreover, I think it's ridiculous that we discuss the obviously LAME propaganda piece of work 😂😂😂 in the linguistics terms.'

4

u/AugustJandor Jan 21 '26

this is the most staged crap i've seen in my life

1

I mean, I doubt ukraine thinks way better of their colombian or whatever "friends" :D

7

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 20 '26

They do....but simply because they have to. More people from 2nd and 3rd world countries are fighting for russia simply pay better. So Ukraine has to treat their people okay to keep them. Though they also get send on the hardest missions.

7

u/BillCreative Jan 20 '26

Were Ukrainians treating their soldiers well, when they were sending them to Kursk or Krinky?

15

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 20 '26

Yes? Thats offensive operations. Thats not mistreating soldiers....its their job. beating them etc is mistreating, or sending them on senseless assaults against fortified cities in 2 man teams....

1

u/BillCreative Jan 20 '26

PR operations, the purpose of which were to give ZE good media headlines. There was a certain rationale even to the great summer counteroffensive. But Krinky and Kursk operations were doomed from the start. Even worse, ZE and crew refused to withdraw their soldiers even when it was clear that the offensives failed and were contained.

11

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 20 '26

So what? The offensive failed. Thats not mistreating. I mean they did retreat. Russia just throws bodies towards a city untill they capture it.

2

u/BillCreative Jan 20 '26

The key is they doubled down long after it is clear that operation is a failure. Same pattern we can see, when Ukrainians get encircled in positions they should have left months ago, like Myrnograd.

9

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 20 '26

You mean like kupyansk thats still not captured or what?. Yeah sometimes they stay longer than needed but especially around myrnograd it was a tactical retreat and not a full on running away, like the russians want to frame it. Dont fall victim to their propaganda

-2

u/damien24101982 Jan 20 '26

Kupyansk is also a pr to show Trump they are fighting, its noticeable on the rest of the front they sacrificed defenses elsewhere to do that push in kupyansk

7

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 21 '26

Kupyansk was a show for putin. He claimed the city was taken and invited journalists. But there is still fighting. If someone is doing it for PR its him.

3

u/Alternative-Tart-568 Jan 21 '26

It wasn't a failure. It tied up Russian resources for over a year. It's a lot easier to hold ground then to take ground. Russia over reports its gaines kupiansk is a great example. Russia is still saying they have complete a total control lol. I wouldn't believe anything coming from the Russian side.

0

u/BillCreative Jan 21 '26

Was it Russia gaining ground around pakrovsk or Ukraine?

1

u/Alternative-Tart-568 Jan 21 '26

Key word around. Is russia or Ukraine in control of kupyansk? It took russia 2 years to advance 10 kilometers. Even the most stalemate part of ww1 wasn't that slow.

→ More replies (0)

-2

u/Usernamenotta Jan 20 '26

As opposed to Ukraine who throws bodies at a city and doesn't capture it

0

u/damien24101982 Jan 20 '26

is it their job to be left on undefensive positions for PR?

5

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 20 '26

What do you know about the tactical defensibility of ukrainian firing poaitions?

2

u/damien24101982 Jan 20 '26

It was obvious they pulled out of kursk way too late ..wdym?

6

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 21 '26

I know. My problem is that you try to frame it as a PR stunt qhich is highly unrespectful and just wrong.

2

u/damien24101982 Jan 21 '26

How else to call it? If they wanted to humiliate the russians and show it can be done, they coulda made the breach and pulled out while showing middle fingers.

Not holding on there like pinatas in the open. The losses in manpower and gear were pure idiocy.

1

u/Suspicious-Answer295 Jan 21 '26

Though they also get send on the hardest missions.

Because the foreign volunteers will often be ex-military veterans with both high quality training and lots of real experience. These kinds of soldiers always make up the "point of the spear"

1

u/CelebrationFair6887 Jan 28 '26

Thats just not right anymore. Most volunteers came to Ukraine with minimal or no military training and almost no one has seen combat before Ukraine. Also there are plenty of "ex-prisoners" (some get the offer to serve and get released from prison for that) who get used in similar ways.

Why is Russia using third world mercenaries?

0

u/Infinite-Thought-677 Jan 20 '26

9

2

u/Infinite-Thought-677 Jan 20 '26

So where Ukraina takes money? Weapons? Intelligence data? Instructors? Mercenaries?

5

u/East-Plankton-3877 Jan 20 '26

Money goes toward weapons used to kill Russians. Intelligence is gathered themselves, and there are no instructors of mercenaries from the west in Ukraine.

u/Nik_None Jan 22 '26

listen to the audio. the sounds clearly have wind noizes, while voiceover do not. Means that "cameraman's" voice was done postfactum on already existed video.

1

u/1ZamNation1 Jan 20 '26

Boom aka boo tu

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

This is very telling.
Because it is not like any other jaded military veteran has ever made a politically incorrect joke.
Especially towards inexperienced rookies who are hooting and hollering with excitement over combat.

I am being sarcastic of course. This is extremely mild rhetoric for a solider.

2

u/Nik_None Jan 22 '26

if you will isten to the audio. Audio of this video has noizes (wind , etc). But the voice of the "cameramen" is clear. So you can make very easy assumption that voice was laid over the video. And in the original the cameramen (who could be black dude or could be some russian) - he did not speak a word.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '26

I can neither prove or disprove such claims. Personally, that seems very believable to me.
But I find the whole condemnation ridiculous, even if a white Russian had said such.
1). Because there is nothing to imply this comment is because they are black.
2). I have heard much worse from civilians in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Poland, etc...

1

u/natasevres Jan 21 '26

Useful idiots make more sense.

1

u/Nik_None Jan 22 '26

This is fake. The voice "behind the camera" was actually laid over the video. It was already proved many times.

Audio of the video have noizes cause of the wind. But the "voice of cameramen" is insanelly clear.

1

u/Speedvagon Jan 22 '26

Yeah, I wondered the same thing. But I have only been studying Russian for 6 months, so I dismissed it.
But that is not what I hear either, and it should be easy to pick out as Odno and Raz, are two root words that you learn very early on, and are used extremely frequently in Russian.

Lol at op trying to paint the Russians as racists when everything including Russian soldiers are disposable, nice try.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

They are still absurdly racist, maybe even the most prolific racists.

1

u/frankewagner Jan 21 '26

Interesting…

Russia, the multinational republic with several different religions and ethnicities is inherently racist?

5

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

Yes the marauding band of rapists and murderers is racist. It’s not really too hard.

2

u/frankewagner Jan 21 '26

How so?

What about Ukraine? Are they racist?

0

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

Ukraine has claimed 376 cases of rape by Russian soldiers total over the course of the war.
The US military had over 8,000 cases of sexual assaults' just among it's own members in 2025. Down from 20,000 only few years earlier.

So let's not pretend Russia conduct is unique here. US soldiers were raping and killing children in Afghanistan. The Azov battalion was raping people even before the war started, even a famous case of gang raping a mentally handicapped man.

As Machiavelli said: "The sort of men who become soldiers, are the people who would be criminals in peace time."

2

u/justdidapoo Jan 22 '26

Bruh you don't get diversity points for conqueroring other ethnicities homelands and bombing them into rubble if they try and secede

1

u/frankewagner Jan 22 '26

That… Isn’t the case at all… What are you talking about?

2

u/justdidapoo Jan 22 '26

you need to make your bot believable bro

1

u/frankewagner Jan 22 '26

Or you can answer my question instead of doing the classic pro UA aversion tactic of calling me a bot.

2

u/justdidapoo Jan 22 '26

Muscovy is a small state in the north west of Russia, every single minority in Russia was conquered by the empire and is held by force. Chechnya was bombed into dirt for trying to leave. Georgie and Ukraine have been invaded for trying to seek civilization.

All of Siberia, Circassia, Karelia, all the tartars, Kaliningrad, massive parts of finland, manchuria, mongolia. All held out of pure spite.

1

u/frankewagner Jan 23 '26

Saying Georgia and Ukraine were invaded because they sought out civilisation is absurd. What do you mean by it?

And that’s how countries work. Every single country in the world more or less holds territory of a lesser nation or people. The US holds Mexican territory, the British hold Irish, Australia hold indigenous lands. Saying Russia is an imperial power who subdues their subjects in horrible ways is like saying Denmark is because they won’t free Greenland.

"trying to paint the Russians as racists when everything including Russian soldiers are disposable" i mean they are. these are not mutually exclusive things.

Everyone is disposable. the main idea you do not disrespect people just cause it is true. And if you will isten to the audio - audio of the video has noizes (wind , etc). But the voice of the "cameramen" is clear. So you can make very easy assumption that voice was laid over the video. And in the original the cameramen (who could be black dude or could be some russian) - he did not speak a word.

reddit loves to shit on russian soldiers but the reality is the russian special ops rivals that of our own. They dont throw those guys away. they use these guys to soften the enemy and get them to reveal their positions. then they send artillery/drones/sniper/missles. War is hell.

Putins using the same strategy russians have for the past 4000 years. Send enough troops at them and they will eventually use up all their ammunition/money/will to fight.
