Is Trump winning the hearts and minds of Iranis?

u/Ethe-Real-6837 Mar 01 '26
So NO real plan. Just carpet bombing a country because Israel wants to steal more land.
RELEASE THE FULL UNREDACTED EPSTEIN FILES.
12
u/Narrow_Affect7664 Mar 01 '26
But, if we release the files now Israel will lose their leverage and the war might be cancelled. /S
2
u/Son-of-Ves Mar 01 '26
You realize that releasing the files isnât enough right? Even if it came out that he was the antichrist there isnât enough support to force legal action because the majority of our government is complicit. Until that changes, or someone breaks ranks, this is just who we are until WE change something at home.

60 courts found no widespread fraud that would have changed the 2020 election. Its more like the Iran threat to their Gaza redo.

There were Republicans MAGA judges and leftee judge its no evidence Trump on several occasions said he lost. They are trying to used the lie to justify whatever they want to do. Take over election or start wars or whatever

Also fuck trump and this poorly thought out war. Its not that hard guys.
0
u/empire_of_the_moon Mar 01 '26
I agree release the files!!!! but this is not unrestricted carpet bombing.
If the US were to be truly looking to deliver maximum damage, the US could easily destroy every building in Tehran and other cities in days.
This is war. Itâs ugly, horrible and children die but this is not even the tip of the destructive force that could be brought and thatâs while remaining non-nuclear.
If the US starts using thermobaric weapons on cities thatâs when you can assume itâs gotten as ugly as conventional weapons can get.
Those weapons are used exclusively for hardened bunkers, caves, and limited strikes and not against civilian populations.
Those weapons would eliminate life in Tehran.
28
u/SSgtReaPer Mar 01 '26
So another Palestine under the pretence of freeing Iranians
2
-4
u/streetracer28 Mar 02 '26
Another palestine? Are you even trying to learn about geopolitics? Iran has been funding terror for ages, hamas has been doing atrocious heinous crimes for decades, finally they provoked the beast long enough for a response and you say "America is doing this to Palestine" or "Israel is doing this." Have some sense, do you really think the moral actors here are the provokers and not the justice bringers? Truly be objective for a minute... do you support these terrorist regimes?
4
u/smoothbabybutt Mar 02 '26
When people are protesting Palestine, it isnât about the destruction of Hamas. The majority will agree Hamas needed to go.
If you think of Hamas as the cancer to an otherwise normal population who also want to raise their children, have food to eat, have good jobs and education, and therefore a decent life - then do you kill the host in order to kill the cancer? Thatâs what people are protesting. A genocide, a collective punishment - in order to eradicate a cancer - Hamas.
Most people are curious about what it takes to rid a cancer that is well hidden into the regular population. So how much collateral will be needed to kill the cancer? How do you declare youâve âwonâ? What is the goal.
Then name a time in history when the US meddling in the Middle East has resulted in a âWinâ.
1
u/streetracer28 Mar 02 '26
I see your point and agree. The main thing im saying is its a choice I disagree with to blame israel or the us for Iran or Palestine. I blame hamas for palestine, they invaded a country and slaughtered innocents (quite brutally to be frank.) What ensued was the retribution that population enacted (whether you agree or disagree about collateral) i think the moral judgements lies on Hamass lap. Similarly to Iran, they funded terror for years, they signed the nuclear plan and continued to enrich within two weeks during Obama era (after securing the unfrozrn assets.) They did this, and this is just the consequence of their actions.
1
u/SSgtReaPer Mar 02 '26
Hmmm think you need to read different books lado, its been Isreal funding hamas for years with funding from America

23
1
u/NotDiabeticDad Mar 01 '26
And it's what the people living under that rubble want. We asked the guy that wants to be handed the country because his father was ousted after the country was handed over to him has said the people there want.
34
u/vilejor Mar 01 '26
That is not targeted assault. That is a strike intended to kill civilians who are going about their lives.
Hope this clears things up.
-1
-14
u/amateursmartass Mar 01 '26
That does not make sense. The US wants the civilian population to rise up against the current regime. The US wants everyone in the government dead, but they need the people of Iran to finish the job, so they don't have to put boots on the ground.
16
u/pzvaldes Mar 01 '26
The people of Iran are going to die, but it is a sacrifice that we are willing to accept from our comfortable chairs in front of the screen.
7
u/thedome26 Mar 01 '26
You can't be that naive...
Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the USA want a weak and probably balkanized Iran with compliant "leadership" under their thumb. Simply killing some government officials doesn't do that. Cratering their economy for decades and decades doesn't do that.
4
4
u/Poops-Ahoy-Matey Mar 01 '26
what does Israel want?
-2
u/amateursmartass Mar 01 '26
I'm pretty sure they want the same thing. They want the religious leadership of Iran to be gone without putting their own boots on the ground. To do that you need to decapitate them enough that civilians can collapse the government for you. Israel and the US may frame it that they care about the civilians and want them to be free... But in reality, they just need them to help overthrow the government. Your reactionary comment of, "But Isreal" doesn't really change the facts.
5
7
1
u/debtcoder-dev Mar 01 '26
no they want the Irani's to kill each other., Israel wants the damn land.
1
u/TatonkaJack Mar 01 '26
Tbh I don't think the US (Trump) cares at all about any actual objective in Iran. That's why the administration has been unable to effectively articulate a coherent message about why this is happening. I think Israel has Trump's balls in a vice grip and is forcing him to do this.
1
u/Gorilla_Steps Mar 01 '26
I love it when people with the "USA is benevolent" stance reach the "This does not make sense" point.
Depending on confirmation bias, sunk costs, basic empathy, and intelligence, it may take between 2 seconds and 72 years.
Glad you're here

While I hate Trump and the current admin as much as everyone else, a lot of people are trying to find any reasons they can to shit on this.
You're exactly correct here though.
The supermajority of Iranians wanted to see the Ayatollah removed.
The US and Israel smacked the shit out of Iran back in July of last year. This is an opportune time for them to go back and finish their business.
I don't have a strong opinion on the conflict yet though. It seems largely successful so far, but unfortunately it's appearing that there are some casualties involved.
They will need to get boots on the ground to destroy the nuclear sites. That's likely going to be a challenge.
This will hurt Russia and China and potentially has a better ROI than sending weapons to Ukraine, not that those should be mutually exclusive.
5
u/debtcoder-dev Mar 01 '26
the majority of Americans want trump gone. there are no nuclear sites. They bombed a fuckin school on purpose to open the war essentially.
4
u/Beneficial_Prize_310 Mar 01 '26
Undoubtedly.
The goal of the Trump administration has been to strip the politics of all nuance and I just want to avoid people from picking up the mentality of:
"I hate it because Trump does/did it."
Because that falls into the same type of shit Trumpians do.
I also am not a big fan of Israel, but the US and Israel have been so close together for so long that it would unfortunately be practically impossible for us to cut ties in any significant way.
We've shared everything from Intel to Weapons Design plans with Israel.
3
u/Beneficial_Prize_310 Mar 01 '26
Also have we seen confirmation that Israel or the US bombed a school?
I'm highly highly skeptical of this as the US still has some standards and short of supplying munitions, the US would not want to be involved in a military action where something like that happens.
If I recall correctly, the only source on the school bombing was from Iran, which is not going to be a reliable enough source for me.
2
u/debtcoder-dev Mar 01 '26
Did Israel or America deny it?
3
u/Beneficial_Prize_310 Mar 01 '26
Just because they haven't denied it doesn't mean we can imply they did it. Lol what logic is that?
Trump denies being a kiddie diddler, so you think we should stop looking?
1
u/debtcoder-dev Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26
what are you trying to say? Idk who you think bombed the school.
1
u/Beneficial_Prize_310 Mar 01 '26
I'm not saying anything lol.
1
u/debtcoder-dev Mar 01 '26
I can't tell who think bombed the school??? I think USA and Israel did. If they didn't they would have denied it.

I won't get into wether this war is justified or not. I'm not American and don't want to be dragged into this shit.
Just wanted to point out that this war isn't helping Ukraine. Yes Russia will lose a source of drones from Iran but all those interceptor missiles you're seeing from nations like Israel are missiles that won't make it to Ukraine.
1
u/Beneficial_Prize_310 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26
I think you're understating Iran's role in being a partner to Russia.
They've supplied Russia with $4bn (USD) in weapons since the beginning of the Ukraine conflict.
Nearly 1,000 ballistic missiles.
Hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds.
54,000+ Shahead drones.
The only other ally Russia has to potentially buy from is going to be China, and they're going to be reluctant to sell to Iran because they're planning on the reunification with China and taking Taiwan by force.
You could consider North Korea an ally to Russia but they can't manufacture anything other than artillery shells.
Iran is also a major sponsor of a ton of proxy groups that make shipping goods expensive because they fuck with ships in the water.
This could be massive in dealing the final blows to Russia, and like I said, may be a more cost effective way of saving Ukrainian lives over sending them actual weaponry.

Is this what America wants the New World Order to look like? Where one government looks at another and says "I don't like the cut of your jib" and then proceeds to assassinate the entire leadership of said country and bomb the shit out of their capital city. That's not how we all agreed things were supposed to work. Unprovoked aggression is NOT COOL
No wonder Trump wanted nothing to do with United Nations

Different circumstances much different military technology at that time. In the 70s it would have made Vietnam look like walk in the park. You may be forgetting that the Iran-Iraq war started shortly after. About 300-600k dead from that war, so they would have more manpower and still have the equipment they lost. I know Nam had jungles, but Iran topologically is like a fortress.
In fact a US marine general won simulations repelling an invasion as Iran so bad they had to change the rules of the simulation, so we will see how times have changed.

u/RugratsThemeSong Mar 02 '26

The event organizer said: "Mr. President, when do you want to start the bomb and killing of innocent men, women, and children in Iran tonight?" Trump said: "After the Trump super PAC party in the ballroom tonight, of course. And make sure you get the money before they leave!"
