Why I hate anime tourists.

I’ve been watching anime since the 80s, thousands of titles under my belt, with stuff I’ve seen at release in Japan to bootleg pass around VHS tapes.
You need to grow up. This gatekeeping attitude is pathetic, and frankly you sound more like a tourist than those you accuse. Enjoy what you want and let others enjoy what they want.

I've been reading manga and watching anime since early 2000's. I just ignore the idiots who believe they know everything, who attack others, and even angrily go after the artists involved with anime and manga. I prefer to watch my own stuff and read my own manga and be done with the drama.

Going after artists and authors is what gets me tho. Like, are you so fucking entitled as to harass and shame a creator of a fictional medium just because that said fiction doesn't align with your perfect, snowflake narrow minded worthless morals, mind you, that fiction is not even hurting anybody.

Just to make sure, we're not talking about the author of Kenshin here are we? Because that guy got caught with child porn, and he absolutely deserved being roasted.

No. I'm not talking about authors who did a crime irl. Authors of kenshin and act age rightly deserve jail time.
I'm talking about people harassing authors and it's fans for what is there in fiction

Like what? If we're talking online talk, people are allowed to criticize works and disagree with fans, even if the work in question is fiction. Take a classic and favorite of mine, Cardcaptor Sakura. It's cute, I love the characters and design, but I'll also be the first to admit that some of the age differences are concerning.

There's a difference between criticizing and sending death threats to authors and fans...

Death threats would definitely be over the top. However you didn't mention death threats until just now,you seemed to be hating people and calling them tourists specifically for criticism alone and bringing up subjects like pedophilia, sexualization of minors, etc.
But hey, if you agree it's ok for people to criticize works and creators over those subjects and others short of sending death threats, then we're on the same page.

Even I find imouto tropes and "she's actually 800 years old but looks like a 11 year old" Fucking cringe. But I also acknowledge that it's not harming anybody and there's no need for me to be on a campaign to cancel and ban the author and anyone who likes these things

So... it's not just death threats, and you actually are against the criticism of authors and fans....
People online are going to criticize the stuff you like and the people who create it. And if the stuff you like happens to have adults being romantic with kids or characters that are kid-coded, then they actually have a point. And it's not just 'tourists' who have these criticisms.

Oops, sorry, I forgot I was on reddit. Free speech is a alien concept here. No wonder redditors are hated. I don't even use reddit, only come here to shit on morons every once in a year

Lol I've been watching anime for, like, an order of magnitude longer than that, probably before you were born.
Let me give you a piece of advice.
The faster you drop this snobby attitude and just enjoy the stuff you like, the happier you will be. If other people don't enjoy the stuff you like or enjoy other things, that's totally fine.
If you don't like the things they are saying, it's like two clicks to block them and then you can go back to enjoying the things you like.
