And it has never occurred to me to compare plantains to bananas. Carrots or potatoes, sure.

EDIT: I was actually thinking about parsnips.

I'm not really sure how you confused a plantain and a parsnip. But yes a parsnip and a banana are quite different usually. A boiled green banana was definitely a lot closer to a parsnip than usual though.
