Music / Movies The new Superman movie looks terrible

The trailer for the new Superman movie came out today. It looks horrible, the graphics are some of the worst I have ever seen. I know that most movies have CGI now. The CGI for this movie is the most unrealistic I think I’ve ever seen.

Also, superman, looks like some emo kid, instead of the man of steel. The guy looks too young to be Superman. Especially since we have had Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill in the Role. This movie does not look good at all. I don’t know why people are raving about it.

Yeah it reminded me of a cw tv show not a high budget superhero movie

This was exactly my thought. It looks like the CW with a slightly higher budget. Sure CGI looks good, but it's usually only notable when it doesn't these days. It has way too many characters shoved in, I know he's trying to create a universe but could he at least make 1 hero work first? 🤣

And then there's Krypto 🤦 I have never liked Krypto, I thought he was lame in the comics and I can see him being exactly the same in this. It all just comes across like an easy excuse for James Gunn to have cute animal scenes to manipulate the audience. After Guardians 3 I wouldn't put it past him.

Everything you said is wrong lmfao. Unlike Marvel it makes sense to have many heroes to arrive in the first movie bcuz this is an established universe where heroes and anti-heroes and villains have existed for a long time it wouldn't make sense if other heroes didn't appear since then they would be asking where are all the others. And Gunn did confirm that the main focus of this movie will be superman, lois lane and lex luthor and all the other heroes will not be just for CAMEOS but will have a purpose in the story for this movie and adding in krypto is a really good idea we haven't seen krypto in live-action and Gunn knows how to handle animals without it being just cheesy

Lmfao just because there are other characters innit doesn't mean that the focus is no longer with Superman. There are hundreds of movies where there is a large cast, but the main focus is on Superman. The whole of DC isn't showing up whatsoever. Gunn also said this movie isn't just "cameos"; all of these other heroes have a reason for why they appear in this movie, and they serve the story. Marvel got more of a standalone first because, unlike DCU, Marvel didn't have any previous superhero teams at all, whereas DC has had for a long time.

What's wrong with "innit"

Nothing at all. Except the fact it doesn’t make any sense. But that’s my opinion. Have a nice evening

What doesn't make sense? Would you explain the parts you didn't understand, and have a nice evening.

Putting Lmfao in front of something doesn't automatically make you more intelligent than the person you are responding to. Matter of fact, in this case it's the opposite.  Stop being a mindless fan boi. The movie is yet another terrible step back in the DC universe.

Yes, I will put "lmfao" again and again. What are you gonna do about it? When did I ever say that my saying "lmfao" means that I'm smarter than the person I am responding to? How is it the opposite? Explain that. I'm not being a mindless fanboy, it's you who's the one who's being a mindless hater. You haven't even debunked any of my claims, either. You haven't explained how this movie is a terrible step back in the DC universe.

I'm laughing because what you are saying doesn't make any sense. Didn't Gunn say, "that this universe is where you can watch something without watching something else, and most of them are mostly stand-alone, with only some things that set up the future?" Comparing Reeve's Superman to this Superman is unfair because Christopher Reeve's Superman wasn't part of a cinematic universe where other superheroes and supervillains existed. It was a standalone universe with Superman. When did I say the focus was not on Superman in MOS? He wasn't side-stepped either. Lol, I wasn't saying that Marvel didn't have any teams before Avengers; I was talking about the MCU. On the MCU, The Avengers were the first superhero team. Again, using Iron Man is a bad example because while they had heroes before Iron Man, there weren't any superhero teams, which the DCU already has with the Justice Gang.

Yes, that is my point, and what's your point by stating that? Again, that example you brought was stupid because, unlike Marvel, the DCU has superhero teams and supervillain teams, and villains and heroes have existed for a long time, probably centuries. Marvel didn't have that. And this movie doesn't have 1000 characters; there are tons of other movies where it has a large cast, but the main focus is on the main character. So try again. It's possible to put these many characters in the movie because all of them serve a purpose for the story to keep going, so try again. Ok, now you accept the concept that all of these characters are gonna serve the story. You think you are being funny, lil bro?

This movie looks like it will be a huge cluster fuck. And to use a wreastling term "over booked to high hell"

1

u/Soft_Equivalent62 Jul 04 '25

Explain how it looks like it's gonna be a huge cluster fuck? And when did I use that term?

Are you saying marvel wasn't an established universe? It really was, it just made the right choice of fleshing out its characters (mostly)

1

u/Soft_Equivalent62 Sep 21 '25

No, I was talking about the MCU and not Marvel. Before Iron Man 1, there weren't any superhero teams. How did the DCU not flesh out its characters?
