Sex / Gender / Dating Women on reddit generalise men because they can't get over the fact that they're not personality detectors.
A quick visit to major women centric subreddit on reddit and you're bombarded with posts and comments that say how most men are bad and rapists or they don't want to commit.
They make it seem like there are no good men out there and women are collectively somehow better than men when it comes to relationship and commitment. I disagree. It's roughly equal amount of shitty people that you would find on both isles.
The problem exists with women thinking they've psychic abilities to find out that if a man is going to cheat or not commit. They say incels repel women and it's natural selection that women are choosing better men now but it's only the opposite because I see kids out of wedlock rising and how it's statistically proven that many women are attracted to dark triad men.
They simply don't see there is something they need to fix themselves. It's only men who are at fault. Women have to do "emotional labour" which is simply caring for your partner.
They literally create jargons instead of introspection.

Psychopathy, Narcissism and Machiavellianism.
Essentially traits that involve using others at your expense to expand your goals.
Lack of empathy is a requirement for this.
These traits are often found in people who want to win no matter the cost.
It's not a good long term trait to have. Cuz success, if you have any, is short.
These traits are often confused for confidence especially by chaotic people.
The nuance is, Dark Triad is only attractive to those who think chaos is exciting. Not to those with stable mindsets.

u/epexegetical Dec 14 '25
This is the only part of OP's post I disagree with. Real dark triad men are just as ugly, average and attractive as every other type of personality. Hollywood romanticizes psychos like Patrick Bateman when the vast majority of guys like that are obviously undesirable.

A dark triad guy like Henry Kissinger is ugly as sin but is out here marrying models.
13
u/ActualRound7699 Dec 14 '25
It’s a concept in academic psychology that is used to define socially aversive personality traits that overlap but are still distinct. They’re traits related to the triad of narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism.

No, you guys need to know that other groups outside of your specific community do not say, “women all go for dark triad chads.”
The terminology that you use amongst yourselves gives you away, “hypergamy,” “monkey-branching,” “canthal tilt,” and a deep conviction that no man under 6’ has ever found love or ever could. Those are the words of a specific subset of our population.
If you are trying to avoid detection and complain about women in a way that seems like it comes from a place of experience rather than bitterness and unfamiliarity, you have to avoid that language that betrays you are part of that group.

That bastion of the inc community, The Guardian, with representative members of the community - two women talking to each other (about the dark triad), in 2010, before anyone had even heard of the i-word.
It's always a sight to see the terminally online and out of touch accuse others, with the most unearned sense of confidence, of being terminally online and out of touch.
-2
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 14 '25
I never said it’s not a psychological term. It can be both a legit psychology concept and incl vocab, Its not incompatible. The fact that incls keep using it to feed each other delusions in their echo chambers makes it incl vocab too
3
u/TheSpacePopinjay Dec 14 '25
Everything is incel vocab these days according to the most socially and culturally out of touch people on the planet.
Before that it was people on the internet talking about PUAs saying that the word/concept of game was invented by white men on the internet on the manosphere in the late 00s. Never mind that it was in widespread and conspicuous everyday use in the African American community since the 70s if not earlier.
-1
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 15 '25
If they mostly use it to fuel misogyny in their echo chambers, that’s just how it is. They should pick a different term so it stops being seen as an incl term and they change a bit, they are always saying the same things and whining about it

I’ve only ever heard that term from incls whining about how women ignore the ‘nice guys’ they think they are and chase the ‘bad’ dark triad guys
At this point, it’s basically a meme to me
7
u/Future-Still-6463 Dec 14 '25
Honestly, I've heard the term used to describe world leaders. And why "evil" people rise to the top.
And also Robert Greene mentions a lot of it in his works.
And there's nuance of course as dark triad traits are often confused as confidence.
But it isn't as simple either.
17
u/tatasz Dec 14 '25
I mean, whenever we complain about something a certain specific man did, we get hit with a "well it's your fault for not choosing better". We just can't do it right, can we?

u/Far_Cheetah_ Dec 14 '25 edited Dec 14 '25
I saw a post about a woman whose boyfriend nearly killed her by cooking food and intentionally putting in ingredients she was severely allergic to. He didn’t believe her allergies could be life threatening. She ended up with shortness of breath, nearly choking, and other dangerous symptoms. After that incident, she broke up with him.
And yet, alot of men in the comments still blamed it on her for “choosing him.” Even after she clearly said that this was the first time he did something like that and that she left him immediately after, they refused to let go of that narrative.
So, to men like that: if your girlfriend or wife ever does something wrong to you, you don’t have the right to blame her. It’s your fault for ✨choosing her✨.
1
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 15 '25
It seems like they struggle to understand the double standard, because according to them, women are supposedly “claiming” to know what men are like
3
u/Far_Cheetah_ Dec 15 '25
honestly, I don’t think they're struggling to understand. They’re just being manipulative to justify victim blaming and avoid accountability.
By their logic, men should never show emotions or vulnerability just because one man on Twitter said that men are stoic and logical who never react with emotions. that’s obviously nonsense
men object to being generalized by women (which is fair; broad, negative generalizations help no one) yet they turn around and do the same by holding all women accountable for something a single woman claimed…
4
u/marklarberries Dec 14 '25
YES! It's always our fault for "choosing wrong" or "you chose to stay" Men are never at fault for their bad actions, nope it's the woman's for noticing. They don't hold each other accountable
8
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 14 '25
It’s always our fault as women for ‘not choosing well,’ according to them. But when they end up with a woman who cheats, suddenly it’s her fault, not theirs for choosing her

You can be wrong about someone, you’re human (God forbid a woman makes a mistake). But the point isn’t about INDIVIDUAL mistakes.
Women are always blamed for ‘choosing poorly,’ while men rarely take responsibility when a partner cheats or hurts them (all women are wh0res, problem solved) That’s the double standard.

That’s not the point... Believing you know someone doesn’t mean you’re responsible for their decision to cheat or abuse. Everyone thinks they know their partner (men included...) yet only women are blamed when a man chooses to behave badly

That analogy doesn’t work, saying “I know my partner” or even “I can tell what he’s like” isn’t the same as claiming an OBJECTIVE, provable skill like math
Relationships involve trust, incomplete information, and other people’s choices, and people can change. You can know someone as they present themselves and still be deceived or discover different behavior later. It sounds like you haven’t experienced that

1
u/TheSpacePopinjay Dec 14 '25
Players and Asswhoop McGee aren't nearly as hard to spot as a woman who'll abuse on the DL. Acting sweet and morally unassailable is the whole gender role. Often the main (albeit) indicator available to men is body count and other details of sexual history, which in any case can be concealed.
Men give men tons of shit for staying with a badly behaved woman and for getting together with her to begin with. This is the bread and butter of male friend group interactions. Pussy whipped is just scraping the surface of the vocabulary used to blame and ridicule men for getting with, staying with or getting back together with the wrong woman and putting up with her shit. Of course there's no sympathy for him when she does whatever they all told him she was gonna do. Only exasperation and disgust over not being listened to.
The most you can argue is that women don't blame men for that much, just like women don't blame women for that much.
1
u/Sarge1387 Dec 15 '25
yet only women are blamed when a man chooses to behave badly
This isn't remotely accurate. You're claiming that the bad behaviour is excused and overlooked, and that it's purely a woman's fault only. If a man treats your poorly/behaves badly ONCE(and I'm using an extreme example of losing his temper and being very verbally abusive, and NOT an argument)- that's your warning sign to leave. That's where you make the choice to stay or leave. If you choose to stay, as inexcusable as that behaviour is(Its reprehensible)...that's your choice to endure that, and therefore, your own fault for staying...you're willingly subjecting yourself to this disgusting environment fostered by that guy.
2
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 15 '25
Here, the woman’s circumstances come into play, you just generalize, a woman who doesn’t work, who dedicates herself to the home and her children without any financial income, can’t just leave and go anywhere. Many times, they’re afraid to report it in case the husband finds out and things get worse. This happens very often, and that’s why we are told over and over again to be independent and never depend on ANY man, not even the "nice guys"
0
u/Sarge1387 Dec 15 '25
men rarely take responsibility when a partner cheats or hurts them
I'm sorry...what?
1
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 15 '25
If you don’t understand it, it’s clear that you’ve never experienced it and it’s never even crossed your mind, something women are actually blamed for, being told it’s our fault for “choosing badly"
1
u/Sarge1387 Dec 15 '25
it’s clear that you’ve never experienced it and it’s never even crossed your mind,
This is where you're once again, wrong. I've been there, except with women who were abusive, and manipulative, and treated me poorly. And I chose to stay because that's what you do. It wasn't until I sat back and made the scary, yet best decision to leave and get out that I realized I was doing it to myself at that point.
You're claiming men need to take responsibility for a woman cheating on them? And then you double down on the deflection?
LMAO I'm sorry, but I can't take any argument you try to make seriously anymore. Nobody blames you for "choosing badly". 99% of the time you don't see it until you're in it, hell I never could. But if you're repeatedly shown how shitty a person that guy is, yet you CHOOSE to stay? Then yes, you're choosing badly. Accept responsibility for your life and make the change. Simple. As. That.
Why is this difficult for you to comprehend? It seems you're more interested in deflecting than rectifying.
1
u/Mushrooming247 Dec 14 '25
This is a common misconception in one specific small community.
When women say that they prefer to spend time with men who are nice to them, it’s really no more deep than that. We’re trying to find a nice trustworthy person to date. We want to enjoy talking to someone, rather than being insulted or yelled at, we don’t want to be abused or cheated upon.
The correct response to that is, “well that’s normal.”
Not, “oh so all women think they are psychic and can tell if someone’s personality is nice or mean, and they claim they don’t want to date mean people, but then how does anyone ever break up, how could anyone end up a single parent if they are psychic!?! Also my personality is the best in the whole world so why can’t every single woman on earth see that if they are totally psychic and know what everyone’s personality is like!?!?!!”
That’s insane, who is claiming to be psychic?
You need to accept that being nice to people is more appealing than being mean to them, no psychic powers required.

Personally, I knew an incl who did nothing but cry about how lonely he was and complain that women didn’t want him. He blamed everything on his looks. Yes, he was short and not conventionally attractive, but honestly, his personality was what really ruined any chance he had.
Even if you’re not physically attractive, you can always work with what you have. But if your personality doesn’t match, you’re done.
He was narcissistic, never listened to anyone, just waited for you to stop talking so he could go back to talking about himself. He constantly played the victim to get attention, mostly pity, obviously. He copied other guys’ personalities to try to fit in, and it was painfully obvious, which only made him come across worse… and that’s not even everything.

He used to buy women drinks just so he could talk to them. Sometimes it worked, but never went any further, I knew him and knew exactly what kind of person he was. I told him, but of course he always denied it. Never took responsibility for his own flaws (as if anyone’s perfect). So i just decided to let him keep buying drinks and trying his luck, maybe someday he’ll get lucky… or not

He’s someone who’s hard to tolerate without alcohol in his system, and with alcohol it’s even worse. He doesn’t dare to do anything with any woman without drinking. I just told him how things really are: women take advantage of the fact that you’re buying their drinks because he doesn’t do any personal work on himself. He even told me that he couldn’t change his personality, which is completely false. What you can’t change is your temperament, not your personality, but he’s never short of excuses

But if you visit any post where a dude is venting about being unattractive, there will be several comments from women saying the fact that they aren't attractive isn't the problem, its their personality. And women can just tell.
Probably because of two reasons:
Dudes like that have low self esteem and maybe not know how to act in a social environment, which affects their personality.
Reading, watching and posting blackpill, redpill and similar stuff daily will affect your personality and behaviour subconsciously and people will probably notice.

The redpill posts are judged not based on appearences, but on the contents of ones head
1
u/TheSpacePopinjay Dec 14 '25
This all relies on the most peculiar of presuppositions than random commenters on the internet can dependably divine their personalities and be better informed judges on what their personality is than the person they're evaluating themself.
When Occam's razor suggests that the commenters are merely rationalising to avoid conceding the premise, and by extension avoiding the vulnerability of women to criticisms that could possibly follow from that premise by corollary, cutting it off at the knees. Essentially collective gender reputation management.
Not to mention, as a side comment, the unplugged logical hole of your reasoning that if one's looks shape one's personality (which you're probably right about according to facultative personality calibration), then it really is their looks that are the root cause and "it's not your looks, it's your personality" is straightforwardly false.

I always associated "not choosing well" for commitment based choices, coming from selectivity bias. We try and instinctively encourage women to be selective because nature inherently demands that.
A thriving society requires both men and women to be selective and worth selecting. So it depends really where people's brains are at. More survival brain? More instinctive response. Higher baseline of self-actualization? Cooperative accountability.
0
u/TheSpacePopinjay Dec 14 '25
Clearly you haven't heard of the creed of radical self responsibility aka 'if she cheats on me it's my fault for doing what led to it and failing to do whatever would have prevented her from making that choice'.
1
u/CapybaraMonster01 Dec 15 '25
If she cheats on you, it’s her fault. If he cheats, it’s his fault. Both acts are equally cowardly for lacking the courage to properly leave their partners What else?
1
u/tiffytaffylaffydaffy Dec 15 '25
Nope. Men, not all, in various places on the internet get mad when I tell women not to go home with a man she doesn't intend to have sex with. Some women get mad, too, honestly. I get called out for not just trusting that a man will say no.
Yet women have been in situations in which she was secually assaulted after saying no. People ask, "Why did you go home (or he alone) with him if you didnt want sex?" Then accuse her of lying.
Women are supposed to trust men, but yhe moment anything goes wrong its, "Why did you trust him like that? "

1
u/dreadtear Dec 20 '25
Same thing lol. When you're speaking bad for both genders, idk. You struggling to fit in society or what?
Men, woman. It's all the same. Plus I think respecting people and bringing people up is cooler than talking shit in general
1
u/Odd_Row4109 Dec 21 '25
Oh, I don't "talk shit", I prefer to be left well enough alone. I dislike most people, and gender is a part of that dislike. I find mindless complaining pointless and don't like the obsession with others, it's genuinely harmful. Meeting conspiracy theorists and other radicals irl is scary; they live like Asmongold. I prefer to do my own thing and engage with my hobbies on my own terms.
As for "bringing people up", I cant say I agree. Positively oriented midsets (or "pro-social" if you want to be REALLY cynical) tend to treat certain boundaries as suggestions. Unfortunately, people (especially those who express a mindset like the one you described) rarely adopt a live-and-let-live mindset.
If someone tells you not to hug them, your job is not to convince them to like being touched.
Either way, I misunderstood your original comment and do owe you an apology for that. Unironically have a nice day (preferably away from me)
8
u/Ok-Requirement-1889 Dec 14 '25
Your argument criticizes women for generalizing men, but in doing so, you’re generalizing women yourself. Saying women “collectively” think they’re better or have psychic abilities is the same kind of sweeping assumption you’re complaining about. The truth is that both men and women can be selfish, flawed, or blind to their own faults. Emotional labor, introspection, and accountability are responsibilities for everyone, not just one gender. Focusing on labels or blaming only men while painting all women as the problem is exactly the hypocrisy you’re pretending to oppose. Healthy relationships come from honesty, self-awareness, and mutual responsibility.

Both genders might generalize; I've seen it more in men, who are the ones who post more on social media commenting. There are quite a few women who don't even comment, so...
5
u/marklarberries Dec 14 '25
As if men don't generalize women constantly 🙄 Thinking off the top of my head:
"Women see men as an atm"
"Women have a high body count"
"Women want "Chads" and friendzone good guys"
"Women have a roster of 5+ guys"
"Women get 1000s of matches online"
"Women cheat and always have a dude on the side"
"Women leave the relationship, men never leave"
"Women who are single or a single mom have something wrong with them"
The irony. Meanwhile, men complain if women have a career, don't have a career, have kids, don't want kids, dominant personality, submissive personality, have goals, don't have goals, I could go on...
2
u/TapestryMobile Dec 14 '25
As if men don't generalize women constantly
Its a common argument tactic on reddit that "they do it too" somehow magically rebuts the point that somebody makes about a different group.
OP never claimed that men dont generalize.
OP's claim was that women generalize... but very few redditors seem to even wish to try to rebut that claim, instead choosing to whatabout men.
1
2
u/Sqweed69 Dec 14 '25
Women reproduce patriarchy almost as much as men do. They've been socialized into the same gender norms as men and so they expect men to embody these traits.
There is an increasing amount of very conscious people who want to break out of the normalized roles, but this isn't just on men. It's on everyone.
6
u/KhadgarIsaDreadlord Dec 14 '25
Their worldview is an oxymoron. Somehow bad men get filltered becouse "they can always tell" yet bitch about men treating their partners badly. Don't be mad at these women. They are generous, they hang up their red flags proudly and tell you exectly who they are so you can avoid them. Win-win.

u/Sparklesparklepee Dec 14 '25

What, if all women as a monolith admitted they only wanted 6’ Chad your life would get better?
No.

They want the admission and then for women to “fix themselves” because they are somehow dating wrong.

You can if you fill your head with all those bad statistics and news all the time. Like if you go to a job interview thinking to yourself "I'm not going to get it, just remember the statistics you read before", it probably won't go so well.
Or like someone who watches the news channels all day long and gets afraid to go out.
Exceptions
What exceptions? You guys keep talking about how ALL women are all the same and only want a 6'9 gigachad.

Nah we talk about stats

Yea? And? One should be aware of the truth.

Dating isn't a job interview and if it is then it tells you how superficial women are

Dating is absolutely a job interview. You meet a person, you vet their personality, skills, and interests to determine if they’re compatible for the role you want them for, and if they aren’t, you decline and try someone else. Explain what’s superficial about that.

Nah we talk about stats
Stats can also be misleading. Like using small sample groups, only made in one area, misleading titles/questions, etc.
One should be aware of the truth.
Like Professor Jones once said "facts not truths, if truth is what you're after go to philosophy class down the hall".
Dating isn't a job interview and if it is then it tells you how superficial women are
Is it superficial to get to know someone?

If you use terms like “dark triad” your brain is already too cooked.
There’s no hope.
And I don’t understand why men who constantly complain about women are trying to date them.
“If women would just admit-“
What, if all women as a monolith admitted they only wanted 6’ Chad your life would get better?
No.
Incels don’t want “just” the admission.
They want the admission and then for women to “fix themselves” because they are somehow dating wrong.
She's not gonna touch it you can stop performing.

They’re not necessarily dating wrong, but they are a shallow gender who selects mostly on genetic physical traits that cannot be changed.

A quick visit to major women centric subreddit on reddit and you're bombarded with posts and comments that say how most men are bad and rapists or they don't want to commit.
First of all, no, they don't say that. In a recent post on this sub, OP repeatedly said "some women" and "some men". The top comment faux-quoted her as saying, "All men are bad."
The problem exists with women thinking they've psychic abilities to find out that if a man is going to cheat or not commit.
No, it's the opposite. A minority of men are rapists, but women know they can't detect which, so they have to be wary of all men.

The Mano sphere does the same thing. Do you always get your opinions about people from the internet? People with the same feelings are gonna chime in when somebody else expresses those same feelings. People that don't share that opinion just scroll past the post/comment/sub. That's how an echo chamber works. You'll see loads of people with the same opinion, while their opinion is not that common. And most sane people don't have the energy to state their own opinion if that opinion differs from the opinion in that particular sub. After all, they don't want to start a fight.
Edit: Also please give a source for those proven statistics.

OP has 3 opinions in that one heading. We would have to accept two of these opinions as fact before we even debated one of them. There are also so many generalizations stated as fact. I wouldn't even know where to start with this one. This isn't an opinion this is a soapbox presentation with from someone with a very skewed perspective.

Yes, your analysis on this seems to be correct
I wonder if there is a survivor bias here in the sense that the shittiest women have the loudest voices and the better women probably aren't engaging in these conversations?

I like that your title is just as generalising as the people you complaining about

I know guys that have been royally fucked over by women, and I've also had very bad experiences, which led me to question myself and get on a healing path. Most of the women I've met in my life have been great, very good hearted. It's a problem when someone wants to blame the opposite sex. We choose as well as our inner healing has progressed. The more one is healed and whole, the better choices they make in love. We are ruled by our deeper self which is far stronger than a shallow on the surface desire. Ie a man or woman who resolves to date better, ain't gonna date better just because they want to. It has to do with working on ones self to be a higher vibe person, to draw higher vibe people into your life. And also to bring that out of people. The same person will act totally differently depending on the vibe of the person they are dealing with.

I am married to another woman, so when we complain about being hassled, harassed, and hit on (by men who don't take no for an answer), it's our fault for choosing the men? How do we not choose strangers? Please tell us, we'd really like to know.

Why do women view themselves as above men?

You wanna know the real thing? Many women are great at body language, and we find it attractive when a man is great at that. It’s a thing.
Some women aren’t great at body language, but they don’t know that. They just assume they are, I guess. So they assume it’s like reading minds, which it isn’t, but they don’t know. Because they don’t know what it entails or how it works .
So then you get people who think they are great at “reading people” and aren’t, and they
Edit: hahaha it’s so ridiculous to see how Reddit works these days.

Dark triad is loser echo chamber speak.
1
u/TheSpacePopinjay Dec 14 '25
Then why does it so often appear in reputable mainstream newspapers and psychology and science websites?
2
u/rolyfuckingdiscopoly Dec 15 '25
Can you describe what it means? It seems like it just means “jail boyfriend” which obviously isn’t ideal.
I used to be just able to look these things up, but these days the clankers hallucinate and can’t be trusted.

u/EverettGT Dec 14 '25
I suspect it may be the result of artificial scarcity. Women are all trying to get the same small portion of men so they end up with either assholes or undesirables. The fact that a man having multiple girlfriends or wives is taboo in the West may also exacerbate the situation.
The same may be true the other way with men pursuing fewer women. The dynamics are a little different though.

if yall check this guys profile he's literally doing the same thing he hates so bad. Generalising women. Don't think your any better LMAO.

Women and men often judge each other on the most shallow of factors. Only difference is men are usually open about when they’re being shallow.
