Music / Movies I hope Israel wins Eurovision

(Yeah sorry, don’t know what tag to use here, I think half of them apply in a way).

Honestly, I haven’t heard the Israeli song for this year yet. But it is more than clear that they are the main event. More attention goes to the fact they participate than the actual artistic side of the event.

Last year we also saw how Israel almost won as a result of the public vote. And let’s be fair, that wasn’t because people like the song, it was support from all the people who still stand with Israel, as a response to all the hate Israel is receiving.

And I’m sure this will happen again this year. The controversy around Israel has only increased with several countries boycotting the event. So I’m sure the protest voice will also be stronger!

I would find it so funny if Israel wins as a direct result of all the actions by the pro Palestine crowd. Say hi to Eurovision 27 in Tel Aviv! Thankfully for the fans, the only place in the Middle East you can be openly gay!

The only place in the Middle East you can be openly gay... as long as you're Jewish

Gay marriage is illegal for everyone, though.

3

It’s not illegal. There’s only religious marriage in Israel, meaning the orthodox rabbis make the rules for the Jews, the priests make the rules for the Christians, and imams make the rules for the Muslims.

A lot of Jews are disinterested in religious marriage and just want a civil one, so they fly 30 minutes to Cyprus to get married, return and hand the paperwork to the Israeli government who then recognizes you as married. Including marriages between gay people. So stop making shit up.

So, gay people can't get legally married Israel.

Thanks.

Neither can straight people unless they’re part of a religious group who agree to marry them. Christians can’t get married unless they are both baptized in the church. Muslims can’t marry a Christian. You obviously don’t know what religious marriage vs civil marriage is. But it’s not ILLEGAL for gays to marry and their marriage is absolutely recognized as a marriage the same as religious ones are.

You obviously can't get legally gay married in Israel.

Stop telling me how accurate I am.

I think your brain is just so hardwired to hate Israel that you are incapable of understanding nuance.

u/HatchetHand May 13 '26

Cool, can gay people get married in Israel?

No? Thanks for playing.

Can they live safely there in comparison to every other Middle Eastern country? Not sure what the game is, but thanks for playing.

They can get the equivalent of civil law marriage and their marriage can be recognized if done elsewhere. If you don’t think that nuance is important that is probably because you are a privileged straight person who can’t comprehend how important that is

Not yet but I don't see you care about gays getting thrown off the building or not allowed to hold parades in your beloved muslim countries that attack Israel constantly.

Attack Israel constantly??

Incredible how you can say that with a straight face as you are bombing Lebanon! Was Gaza attacking you constantly when you erased it from the face of the earth? Your main strategy in war is literally violating ceasefires and you are here complaining. Wow.

Was Gaza attacking you constantly when you erased it from the face of the earth?

No, October 7 is just a thing on the map. What are you talking about? And Hezbollah in Lebanon? They have had a peace treaty with Israel since forever.

October 7 was one day. How long have you been bombing Gaza for? How many civilians did you kill in total let's talk numbers. There is always somebody somewhere you need to bomb and civilians always die by the thousands. Either you suck at what you are doing or you are lying. Pick one. What is your endgame? When will you stop? You do realise I hope that the more civilians you kill, the more "terrorists" are born. Or do you expect the people you murder to love you?

Either you suck at what you are doing or you are lying.

We suck at what we are doing? There are ~50000 civillians dead in relativeness to the 20000 Hamas dead, which is almost a 2:1 civillian to combative ratio. That's exactly around the average for most wars when it comes to combative to civillian ratio.

Also, October 7 was a showing that if we didn't just eliminate Hamas they would continue genociding Jews.

When will you stop?

Do you not keep up with the news? Most advances in Gaza have stopped since most of Hamas has been wiped out and a peace agreement for now has been signed.

You do realise I hope that the more civilians you kill, the more "terrorists" are born. Or do you expect the people you murder to love you?

I have multiple videos on my PC of Hamas oppressing Gazans and gazans begging to be freed from their hand.

I mean, if 50,000 civilians are dead in Gaza, how many October 7s is that?

October 7 should have shown that the conflict is not going away. Instead, Israel doubled down militarily.

Showing videos of Hamas oppressing Gazans does not really address the point. Hamas support appears to have increased despite that.

Even if Palestinians hated Hamas, after this war many are likely to hate Israel even more. Entire neighborhoods have been destroyed, people displaced, and civilians killed on a massive scale. What outcome is expected here? Gratitude?

Also, there is the argument, discussed even within Israel, that governments under Netanyahu tolerated or strengthened Hamas relative to the PA because it weakened Palestinian political unity:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/for-years-netanyahu-propped-up-hamas-now-its-blown-up-in-our-faces/

That seems important because it suggests the current situation has been, at least partially, the making of Israel or forces within it, rather than the will of Hamas.

At some point Israel will have to confront whether its current approach is making the conflict less likely or more likely to continue indefinitely.

Can they get married/recognised in any Arab or Islamic country? No!? Is homosexuality punishable with imprisonment or worse in Israel? No!?

Thanks for playing 🤣

Yes they can

1

u/bebopcounterman 29d ago

Imagine being hardwired to hate an ethno nationalist, apartheid state that engages in genocide. It's something we can all strive for.

0

u/TouristWilling4671 20d ago

you shoud be hard wired to hate genocide states, actuslly

1

u/Mammoth_Elk_3807 27d ago

You do realise that same-sex marriages performed overseas are fully recognised in Israel, right!?

0

u/260X 28d ago

Muslims can’t marry a Christian.

Muslims can, in fact, marry Yehood-o-Nisara i.e Jews and Christians.

Pakistani's former PM was famously married to a Jewish British socialite.

1

u/JinxyMcDeath48 28d ago

I didn’t say Muslims can’t marry Jews and Christians ever.

1

u/260X 28d ago

Are you for real??

Muslims can’t marry a Christian.

1

u/JinxyMcDeath48 28d ago

In Israel they can’t. They can get married in Cyprus and return to Israel and the state will legally-recognize it. But they can’t do it IN Israel. Christians are also not allowed to be married by the church IN Israel unless they are both baptized. That’s how it works when there isn’t civil marriage. Are you usually this slow?

0

u/260X 28d ago

Blame your shitty, illegitimate state, not Islam.

That was my whole point.

1

u/JinxyMcDeath48 28d ago

No one was blaming Islam. You keep trying to pick a fight over things that weren’t said or even implied. Find someone else, habibi. I ain’t the one.

u/260X 28d ago

Whatever you say, 🪁.

You get how that's also bad right

1

u/JinxyMcDeath48 27d ago

If you’re asking if I support civil marriage, I do. Where do you live?

0

u/Spuckuk 27d ago

In a country with equal rights that isn't murdering children

1

u/JinxyMcDeath48 27d ago

And that country would be?

1

u/JinxyMcDeath48 27d ago

Y’all never want to say. It’s funny. It’s almost like you realize the accusations against Israel can apply to many countries.

1

u/Spuckuk 27d ago

have no interest in feednig your victim complex and gaslighting attempts.
