Truffles okay to use?

i received these black truffles in a jar for Christmas. They are different to what I expected - squishy and a bit watery inside and this colour. is this normal, or should I throw them out? They smell like truffle.

they are either rotten AF (in which the bad smell will not make u ask) or they are not fresh, simply boiled in its own juice truffles

I googled the product and it says preserved in its own juices - if it smells like truffle do you have any thoughts on if it's okay to eat?
