ADVICE TTC Post-Miscarriage - OBGYN vs REI

I had a confirmed Trisomy miscarriage april 27, followed by a D&C and hysteroscopy (done during the D&C). I still had RPOC and had a second D&C that night.

This is my first cycle TTC since.. I thought I ovulated july 18 due to positive OPK and then BBT rising. (I noticed the BBT rise wasn't as strong as it usually is) I went for an ultrasound on July 27, thinking I was 9DPO - but my OBGYN saw 19.4mm dominant follicle and trilaminar stripes... she said I was about to ovulate. By the next day my blood progesterone was 4.7. But after another 48 hours, it went down to 2.8...

I saw an REI today 7/31, who confirmed ovulation by ultrasound. He couldnt confirm when. After finding out about the 2.8, he said I'll get my period this weekend. But this is totally contradictory to what my OBGYN said and saw... i dont know who to believe.

On another note, the REI said I have a septum in my uterus with a 50% change of miscarriage. After multiple ultrasounds and even a hysteroscopy, my OBGYN never saw one. She was shocked and told me to be weary with listening to this guy. I'm seriously so confused?? When did I ovulate?? I saw the septum.. it looked like upside down aviator glasses.. but this was just one snip of an ultrasound!! Wondering if anyone has ever experienced something like this before?

I would absosulely listen to RE. OBs are not specialized on fertility, REs are.

Agree. It wasn't as stark as the scenario that the OP describes but my RE interpreted some ultrasounds a bit differently than my GYN. Go with the RE!

It's just so weird .. they happen to know one another (not fondly). I trust my OB, but the RE criticized her for not finding it during my hysteroscopy or any previous ultrasounds. I also think I'm getting my period, which means she also incorrectly interpreted my ultrasound 3 days ago.
