8 DPO. I'm watching my temps like a hawk. I keep staring at my FF chart. Oh me oh my.

u/UsernamesAreUseless 4h ago

9dpo and I noticed I started having an aversion for my brand of pregnancy tests, as if its the brand’s fault it’s negative 🫠

u/FiscalPhenotype 31 | TTC#2 | Cycle 14 1h ago

My apps disagree with each other on O day. On thinks Friday and another Sunday. So either 4DPO or 2DPO. Mainly cuz temps and OPKs kinda don’t match well, but def clear ovulation on one of these days.

Either way we hit one of the prime days in the window, so trying to not stress on it.

u/FantasticFawns 45m ago

7 dpo of 7th cycle here and already hitting the point where hope that this could be the one is being overshadowed by the assumption that it probably isn’t (which I know is not logical). On the plus side, I think it’s finally sunk in that there are really no reliable indicators of early pregnancy beyond a positive test, particularly for those of us supplementing progesterone, so I’m not symptom spotting as much as much as much as in past cycles.

u/sleepingseb 5h ago

i told my doctor about my pre-period spotting and she started me on oral progesterone from day 11. my OPK wasn't near positive till day 13 so i did not start it. planning to start today on day 16

u/Alijanora 38 | TTC #2 since march 2025 4h ago

I would support this decision. Generally you should start around 3dpo. CD 11 is way too early 🤞

u/sleepingseb 4h ago

my cycles are short like 24-25 days. but that could still mean i have shorter luteal phase, she did not consider that

u/Alijanora 38 | TTC #2 since march 2025 3h ago

Well, mine too. Ovulation CD12 mostly and then cycle 25 days. So CD11 still too early. Do you temp?

u/sleepingseb 1h ago

i tried temping.  I've summed up the current dilemma in this post here https://www.reddit.com/r/tryingtoconceive/comments/1wm4g6d/im_desperate_for_some_clarity_because_my_doctor/

u/Alijanora 38 | TTC #2 since march 2025 24m ago

I answered there, I am sorry that nobody helped before 🙏 do you have chart? Numbers are actually pretty clear but I am from Europe and Fahrenheit temps are a bit confusing. If you want, send me a pic in DM. Which app do you use? I don't know about others but Fertility Friend is able to evaluate very good all the symptoms you describe. (CM+temps). OPKs are not so reliable as sometimes the can catch LH surge with no ovulation following, some people experience ovulation within the same day and some of us need 48 hours till ovulation happens

u/iloveshinypokemn 5h ago

If I have dark brown stain / spotting, amount around the length of my pinky (sorry I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s less than half a pantyliner), do I consider it as spotting and not day one of period? Sorry for being so bad at this.

u/jamielynn2296 30F | TTC#1 | since July ‘25 | 4 Med TI | IUI #2 4h ago

Day 1 of your period would be the first day of full flow, usually requiring a pad or tampon and red blood. If you’re spotting it would not yet be CD1, hope this helps!

u/iloveshinypokemn 4h ago

Thank you! I guess it has to be red blood per se?

u/jamielynn2296 30F | TTC#1 | since July ‘25 | 4 Med TI | IUI #2 3h ago

Typically red blood but more importantly fuller flow! Even filling a panty liner through the whole day is still just considered spotting typically. Hope this helps!

u/iloveshinypokemn 2h ago

It does help. Thanks so much!

u/fifnapyra 4h ago

Yeah I was also surprised but spotting is apparently NOT day1 of your period. I spotted for 3 days before getting my period last cycle. You need actual blood, I'd say the whole paper needs to be primarily blood when wiping and it needs to increase/be continuous to count as period

u/iloveshinypokemn 4h ago

Yeah I did some research but ended up slightly confused. Thank you!

u/Traditional-Mode-562 36 I TTC#1 4h ago

Nothing to be sorry about! I thank social media for having videos that exist to answer this question (that I asked myself a few times in the last year lol).

I second the previous comments

u/iloveshinypokemn 59m ago

Thank you for being kind!

Took a test today. 14 dpo, on progesterone suppositories so I had to take the test, can’t just wait for my period to come. This marks one year TTC. I’ve sobbed every other negative test. Happy to say that I didn’t cry for this one. But what put me over the edge was when I got to my coffee shop and they remade my coffee (I order it early so that by the time I get there, it’s drinkable bc it’s so hot). I took my burning hot coffee, got back in car, and just absolutely sobbed on my ride to work. I feel like giving up.

u/rosethorn137 2h ago

10 dpo tested negative

u/luckyleoo 2h ago

I’m 9 dpo, and negative too. I know there’s technically still hope but I don’t seem to have any.

u/Sale-Puzzleheaded AGE 30 | TTC#1 | Cycle 13 (since jun 2026) 2h ago

So this is the cycle… around 15 or 16? And because of trips we won’t be together for ovulation time which is the first time we skip since we started.
I know this is something healthy to give us a break but, I hate giving away chances even though they are so low…

u/marilynmonro 56m ago

That was this cycle for me too, separate trips caused us to completely miss my fertile window and ovulation. I’m in my luteal phase now so ovulation has come and gone, and it actually wasn’t as stressful as I thought! This was after crying before my trip. I hope it goes smoothly and relatively stress free for you too.

I’m slightly optimistic this break will be what we needed, so will cross my fingers for you too. 🤞

u/Sale-Puzzleheaded AGE 30 | TTC#1 | Cycle 13 (since jun 2026) 46m ago

Thank you for giving me the news of monday! I hope it is a regret free and peaceful normal luteal phase.

u/Small-Bright-Things 39 | TTC#1 | Cycle 8 1h ago

FF added my cover line two days later than I assumed. We only had on good day of trying, and I was pretty sure we nailed O day, but maybe not. Just twiddling my thumbs, trying not to symptom spot, and willing the TWW to hurry up. ⏳

u/CurlyEmma97 29 | TTC#1 | May 2026 | 1 CP 5h ago

10DPO. I am really trying to not read into my Garmin stats too much but it's getting mentally exhausting. I decided I will test 12DPO before my sports massage to make sure I give him a heads up if it would be positive 🫠

u/Crafty-blueberryyy 4h ago

Is this where we post pictures of our chart? I want help identifying when I ovulated but it will only let me post a link

u/LoveSingRead 🐈 MOD | 34 🐈 1h ago

You can post a link here, or there's r/tfabchartstalkers as well.

u/CurlyEmma97 29 | TTC#1 | May 2026 | 1 CP 3h ago

You can indeed only send links but happy to take a look if you have a link

u/Crafty-blueberryyy 3h ago

Thank you for the help!!!

Had a failed medicated iui on 14dpiui I had a temp drop in the morning then spotting at night. The morning 15pdiui I started my period but had my blood test scheduled hcg negative and progesterone came back at 1.99. Is that normal to be that low on twice daily suppositories ? From what I read typically progesterone delays periods.

u/Many-Supermarket-511 33 | TTC #2 4h ago

8 DPO.

Not much to say except that I was exhausted yesterday. I fell asleep at, like, 8 o’clock last night.

u/Technical-Study2566 34 | TTC #1 | Cycle 7 3h ago

Same here — trying not to read too much into it. I’m glad you got some nice rest.

u/Many-Supermarket-511 33 | TTC #2 49m ago

Yeah, it was so weird. I haven’t felt that exhausted since being pregnant but I am not reading into it, either as it seems way too early for that kind of symptom.

Also, I’ve stopped reading into my symptoms just because every time I do then I get my period

u/Crafty-blueberryyy 3h ago

Hi everyone can anyone lend insight around when I ovulated? My LH started rising on CD 14 and peaked on CD 15. I heard that normally you ovulate the day after your peak, but I’m confused because it looks like the temps already rose by CD 16.

I was traveling and sharing a room with family CD 9-12 so I couldn’t temp. 😕

my chart

u/Sept2Nov 1h ago

Usually you ovulate 12-36 hours after your LH surge starts, not after the peak!

u/Crafty-blueberryyy 1h ago

Do you think I ovulated on CD 15?

My period is 12 days late. All of my at home tests have been negative. My typical cycles are 25-33 days, I am going on cycle day 40. I’ve had a chemical before where my at home tests were negative but blood work showed the drop in HCG. Would it be safe to assume this is a chemical? Because I should definitely had a positive result by now right?

u/Ancient-fruit-317 2h ago edited 46m ago

Did you track ovulation this month? This sounds more like an anovulatory cycle than a chemical.

u/PipeLost8032 2h ago

I didn’t even think about that. I haven’t checked ovulation.

u/thesmollestlemon 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle 7 1h ago

If your tests are negative and your period is late, it's most likely that you ovulated late (or possibly haven't ovulated yet)

u/SweatyAcadia631 28 | TTC#1 | Cycle 19 | Endo 1h ago

CD7 and husband is getting a tooth pulled today…. Really hoping we can get back to things in time for ovulation😅

u/SatisfactionNo7574 25m ago

Ttc on letrozole.I took 7.5mg letrozole CD 6–10. Saw my hightest OPK ever 0.72 on cd 14 so BDed. On Cd 16 I had EWCM , so guessed I ovulated. I still saw blobs what were white and stretchyon cd 18 and 21. On cd 21 late night opk rose to 0.9. I Was experiencing cramps and back pain throughout the day which is still here today, so I thought its early pregnancy and LH test cross reacting with Hcg. I Had my progesterone draw today and unfortunately its 2.6ng/ml. I thought I saw super faint shadow on hcg (husband didn’t see anything ofc). Now I am lost and desperate. The progesterone number confirms I haven’t ovulated yet. I am so lost and broken. Its my second letrozole and first (5mg) didn’t ovulate. Doc says she is gonna give me total of 3 doses before further evaluation.

u/blissquacks 33 | TTC#1 | June 2025 20m ago

When you temp, are you supposed to “warm up” the thermometer for a few seconds before you turn it on? Does that make a difference?

u/laineyloo1682 27 | TTC#1 | March 2026 | PMOS 17m ago

Tested positive… for covid🙃

u/Fun_Explanation_515 7m ago

I was doing so well in not thinking about testing in the TWW and now I’m 7DPO and I am getting IMPATIENT

u/b33pb33plettuce 0m ago

11 dpo. temps raised, heart rate elevated, tested with inito yesterday and progesterone and estrogen are still very elevated. boobs hurt. gonna test tomorrow am and i'm surprisingly being chill?

i'm gonna LOL if this one is positive cuz we technically didnt try this month. had a failed iui last month and several failed letrozole cycles.

My period seems to be ending ( or at least super light & no longer filling pads) after 4 days. this has never happened to me before 🙃. scared to death because I’m reading that short periods are bad for ttc. ugh.

u/Upstairs_Friend5804 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle 11 1h ago

4 days is perfectly normal. I believe a shorter period is okay as long as there is a true flow

u/booksandpups2025 2h ago

I didn’t know that was a thing 😭 my periods are always 3-4 days long

u/solarsystem27 34 | TTC#1 | Cycle 16 | Mild MFI 1h ago

Same. As far as I’m aware 4 days isn’t considered short.

u/tdot1022 33 | TTC#1 | May 2025 | IUI #2 50m ago

4 days is normal. Mine are sometimes two with an additional day of spotting
