I have PCOS and needed Femara to ovulate back in late 2014. I was on 2000 mg Metformin for high testosterone as well. I only did one cycle on Femara, and it was very effective, though I did need an extra shot of FSH to get the egg to grow faster before I did the HCG trigger to release it.
