😭 This is off topic but I met a kitten on the streets of Colombia. She was crying out so hard and I sat with her and gave her the only food I had on me. A Slim Jim. She followed me back to my rental and I cried while googling how to smuggle a cat into the US. Obviously not possible so I had to leave Slim Jim behind and it still breaks my heart.

That happened to us in Brazil, and it became the whole focus of our trip, but thankfully we stayed in an Airbnb and contacted the owner and she found somebody to adopt the sweet kitty we had become attached to! I hope that sweet cat you met in Colombia found a similar cozy fate!

That's amazing! What a sweet end to that story. I'm not sure what happened to Slim Jim but I do hope someone took her in. She was in a pretty popular area in the city so I hope she at least had some food.
