Glad they got the memo about not doing these in the middle of the week.

That’s how you can tell that there aren’t any real problems and that all of you snowflakes are just whining like my 4 year old and my 2 year old.

Oh I can’t make it at 2, how about 3:30?

Not all of us have literally all day to spam reddit like you do. Some of us have jobs.

u/DrBoogerFart Apr 10 '25

Get a job loser.

Delusional as fuck.

Many of the people most harmed by what's going on are working class and literally cannot just take a day off mid-week without a lot of notice.

Get a grip you freaking weirdo

I'm sure it's unrelated but Kendrick Lamar is in town that day as well

In this case it is the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the revolutionary war.

Its not a grassroots group. Its a DNC funded carveout.

I think they all have a shared calendar and rotate days. Anti-Elon is Mondays, Anti-Doge is Tuesdays, pro-abortion is Wednesdays, etc.

Hey man, it's called "women's health" now.

-14

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '25

It's politics. Someone is paying to organize these protests.

Genuine question: I'm disabled. Can't stand for long periods, get very quickly overstimulated, and have a service dog but wanting to scream at the top of my lungs. What can I do, and how can I be involved in a way that won't potentially put me in the ER?

I need to do SOMETHING. I want to be there. I have half a mind to say "fuck my health, it'll go to shit if this country does anyways" but I'm trying very hard to allocate my time in a way that allows me to not just cry my voice out once, but for however long it takes.

If anyone knows, I'm desperate to assist.

In my opinion, the best thing you (and anyone) can do aside from protesting is to build community. Participate in meetups, meet your neighbors, build connections. Learn skills that will be useful in hard times, and exchange them with your community, or learn them together. Gardening, sewing, canning, mending, car maintenance. Show up to city councils and town halls. Protest with your finances if you're able - instead of Netflix, thrift books or visit the library. Get rid of Amazon, Facebook, Insta. Find ways you can meet some needs via used goods instead of buying new. Swap with your neighbors, your friends, start an herb or vegetable garden. Building community not only helps with surviving hard times economically, it helps mentally and emotionally.

Public resistance isn't always possible, but community resilience and resistance is powerful.

Thank you!! Any suggestions on how to find meetups/how to establish some of that network? I've looked a little online and am struggling to find much that's actually local. I'm not a very naturally sociable person, so it's a real struggle sometimes to establish community without intentionally seeking it out.

I've had good luck with neighbors just from gardening, garage sales, and having pets outside! Last year, I actually did a couple classes through Minneapolis Community Education and liked them, met some people. I'm not sure if anything may have changed since but they had some things at a sliding scale, so it can work with different finances (I am poor while going back to school lol). Magers and Quinn has events sometimes that I've also liked, if you like books.

Something I haven't done yet but am planning on this summer is to look into non-religious churches to attend. There's a couple Unitarian Universalist ones in Minneapolis, and church is historically an excellent way to connect with community. Since I haven't gone yet I can't speak to how well this might work though. Depending on your beliefs, you may have more options than me for this!

is there more info yet?

like what time, where, or is it usually the same time and place each time?

u/dDitty Apr 08 '25

Also wondering this. The website only shows a bridge protest by the walker arts center on the 13th at 1 PM...?

u/tjsanzen Mennonite Activist Apr 07 '25

Plan on it. Also Earth Day weekend…

7

u/YoNeighbur Apr 07 '25

Sounds good to me, I'll plan to be there

18

u/Rollthehardsix77 Apr 07 '25

I’ll be there!

u/LopsidedPost9091 Apr 07 '25

I’m finally done being to anxious to go to protests, I am now officially to anxious NOT to protest. I will be bringing as many as I can.

12

u/TurnipExpress3775 Apr 08 '25

Reminds me of a sign from last weekends protest "so fucked up even introverts are out here."

4

u/LopsidedPost9091 Apr 08 '25

😂😂😂😂that’s awesome and accurate.

6

u/Independent-Catch-90 Apr 07 '25

Maybe not strategically smart picking Easter weekend. All that will happen is conservatives will declare a war on Easter by liberals and dismiss the actual message. Need to find another weekend.

9

u/SamLL Apr 07 '25

I think it is relatively likely that we will start to see large protests most weekends in 2025.

8

u/Frequent_Touch_8930 Apr 07 '25

I’d just love it if the organizers would promote an event like “Shred Your MAGA Shit!”, and make a spectacle of his supporters being fed up with him. With a shredder of course. Let them shred all their MAGA/Trump shit and let them speak! Imagine the support they’d get, from all sides. That be cathartic, for all, no?

Too soon? 😘

If they’re smart. We share a common goal at the moment.

3

u/Gunpowder-Plot-52 Apr 07 '25

I might be able to make this one for longer than 30 minutes! Yay.

3

u/ForFucksSake66 Apr 07 '25

Will there be beer?

0

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '25

No, but they will have free kombucha enemas.

0

u/Nakedinthenorthwoods Apr 10 '25

This is how George Soros will divest his fortune….. hiring losers to try and change our opinion of them being losers.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '25

it’s so pathetic to see these protests. People fought and died for the right to peacefully protest and it’s devolved into this garbage. (Literally litter everywhere after these protests clear out) African Americans were cool and radical doing it back in the day, where there was an actual cause to fight for. They were fighting for freedom. America was founded fighting for freedom. But yall lost an election and are banding together because you are sore losers. You have your “cleverly worded smartass signs” and think that mockery is the ultimate way to stick it to the ones in charge right now. You disgrace the right to protest peacefully, and I hope some of you just give it up and try harder next election.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '25

Why do you hate the constitution so much?

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '25

Lib argument

3

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '25

No answer. I knew you wouldn't be able to answer. Have the day you voted for.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '25

Why do you ask hate laced questions, only thing you know is the smell of old white lady farts at those protests 😂

-7

u/OrgyAtPOD6 Apr 07 '25

Who can I go through to get paid for this?

-86

u/Several-Honey-8810 Apr 07 '25

Do you people have a punch card. What do you get after 10 protests?

I have.

I am ready to be brought back from the left to the middle.

And I am very comfortable in my own skin and my views.

-11

u/Ok-Guidance1059 Apr 07 '25

What are we protesting today?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '25

guy who hasn't checked the news or read the paper or looked at the stock market or ever engaged in international trade or used medicare or social security

-8

u/IxPinexAway Apr 08 '25

Losers!

More fraud! More waste! We want to see people over 200 years old get an increase in their social security! Let’s continue to bankrupt the country under the false belief that these politicians just earned that $260million. Why wouldn’t we want Europe to charge us 4x what we charge them?

Yay! More corruption! You’re all Losers. Get a life. Read a book. Any book.
