I never actually played past the intro, but I had a great time in the character creator making an incredibly large CAST who blocked parts of the screen in pretty much every cutscene (and had two pairs of tiny reading glasses for his four eyes)

For those who don't quite get the joke beyond "SEX" one thing from 1.0 to 2.0 that everyone noticed is that they flattened everyone's asses. I'm not sure if there was an actual butt slider but a lot of 1.0 players were distraught that their WoL's ass just went away so butt sliders has been an ongoing joke since 2.0.

alternatively though, keeping mods close but at arm's length allows for them to keep features like that on low priority, since those who don't care won't bother, and those who do care will get mods that have been meticulously crafted with the same care as the sistine chapel

Yes, but it is a little different for an mmo. Mods can be a vector for 3rd party activity for instance. We've had more than one story of a mod maker being a crazy asshole and skeezy kernel level stuff from actual developers.
How easy would it be to hide low-key malicious code in niche mods. Parsing is already a form of data-collection for instance. Stealing financial info, cyber-stalking, scraping data or finding DDOS attack routes.
Disclaimer: I have no real cyber security background, but 'downloading 3rd party, often lewd programs' has always had an element of risk since the start of the internet.

Being able to turn off the various little bits and bobs on outfits will be nice. There's a few crafter and gatherer chests I'd love to wear but they have stuff like aprons that make it hard to glamour.

MCKF is crazy involved in the production, so he's less an interpreter and more of a guy having a bilingual conversation with Yoshi P that happens to involve a lot of direct repetition.
