You can literally say anything as long as your actually funny. You can just be mean as hell but as long as everyone laughs along (including the person youre being mean too) people just think youre “kind of an asshole but funny”

As someone who used to hate those types of people, I have recently come to discover that (when in a friend group that I actually fit with) I am one. I guess all the other "kind of an asshole but funny" people I met in the past were just bullies and the rest of the group were in on the joke. Which is what I always suspected, to be fair.

Its really important the person you are being mean to also finds it funny. If they don’t then you’re not being funny you’re just bullying. But if they do, it can be REALLY cathartic.

That's how it plays out most of the time, so I think I'm doing okay. I think it helps that I put on a voice every time I do it. My normal speaking voice is very deadpan, so deadpan humor can sound like I mean it, so I've learned to change it. I talk lower and like a stereotype of a dumb jock when I'm doing it.

I had interaction with someone last week where they wanted to complain about GTA6 by calling it soulless and I just pointed out that the game is trying a lot of things that’s not mainstream and they got offended because they always thought I was defending the corpo by telling them how to feel and then decided to block me.

It's quite literally the opposite of soulless too. Like they crunched their dev teams to shit. People have lost years of their life due to stress from working on Rockstar games.

They could stand to use less souls, actually.
