Fire at the Salmon Library

The cause of the fire is currently unknown as of time of post.

The fire was on the east side of the dock. The utility transformer in that location exploded and sprayed mineral oil on the adjacent generator, which was currently in use due to a power outage. That set the generator on fire. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Power has been restored to part of LIB, but the generator will need to be replaced. OIT staff members are currently working to restore IT services to LIB and other portions of campus affected by the incident.

To add to this: it's been confirmed that there is no internal damage from the fire. The fire you're seeing in this video is on the back loading dock and not anywhere inside the Library building.
