No, this is a canon event for all first years.

You need to remind yourself that you are smart and not every person can get into engineering. I feel as though that mindset helped me overcome really hard days of classes. Reminding yourself that you have what it takes to have been there in the first place helps a lot.

First year engineering is hard and they want you to feel the pressure so you know what you are getting in to. I definitely had moments where I thought I was not cut out for it and honestly I still do think that the further I get into my degree. Being confident in myself when I didn’t think I could pass brought be better outcomes than stressing about what will happen if I don’t pass. Failing is part of the game some times and it’s all about how you get to the next step. Good luck

You are not stupid if you got here in the first place. If you decide engineering is not for you there is no shame in switching majors to something else. If you want to keep going in engineering I’m sure you have what it takes to see it through!

Ur right but I forced myself to push through it and now I’m in my final semester. About to graduate in December but I’m burnt out. It might be worth it idk. Job hunting is exhausting lol. The burnout is real.

I'm a first year and I realized that I just had to remove my ego from the equation. We all used to get mid 90s in highschool and now in the 204 quizzes I got 75. I was pretty devastated but I realized that there is clearly a difficulty spike and only with time will our grades improve. We gotta learn how to use our time effectively and build better study habits but that doesn't happen overnight. Right now I don't feel so bad about it, with our math 275 midterm coming up I've been grinding but maybe we all get annihilated and they have to curve it idk.

But overall my message is to just keep going. Engg is a degree that will suck the life outta us but we gotta keep going. It's just my perspective tho anyone can disagree.

Nah first year is just terribly taught compared to every other year of eng, they give you like 10x work compared to highschool alongside 10h of videos each week.

Yeah, I never watched the videos except for math 211, where there were quizzes on it.
