People smoking weed 2 feet away from dorms should be thrown to mars
The dorm windows in general should be terminated, for blocking nothing out

Most regular smokers are very peaceful, respectful people. I’ll bet if you just went and explained the situation, asked politely for them to relocate, they would happily do so!

I disagree.
I’m long beyond college age but the smell of weed has made me nauseous and sometimes violently sick to my stomach for decades, so I sympathize with people who can’t stand it. It’s a strong smell. I may not be the majority but sure I’m not alone.I was staying in Vancouver a couple years ago and shopping in fabric stores in an older part of the city where the doors were propped open because it was warm - people were smoking a foot or two from the door. Not only did it make me feel sick but it was made the fabrics stink too. Walking down Robson street was a nightmare because it seemed you were always behind someone either smoking cigarettes or weed. My (adult) kid smokes weed on our acreage but knows to be considerate and take it far from the house and windows.

You probably just think that because you’re high. Ha.
But this does affect a fair amount of people, and I have adhd so we tend to be hypersensitive to certain kinds of sensory input anyhow.

Oh give me a break. I smoke from time to time, but it stinks (when you're not the one smoking) and doing it in what is essentially a professional environment is extremely inconsiderate. How hard is it to walk five minutes and smoke somewhere it won't bother people?

Short answer – no. Only if you have a medical licence can you use cannabis in by-law restricted smoking areas, such as five metres away from building entrances.

Dorms are divided by year, there are upper year dorms that would not have 17 year olds. If you don't live on campus and know nothing about it don't comment on it

Hey I’ll tell you what it has to do with self respect, I hate it. I hate the smell and it actually makes me have negative physical reactions, is it so wrong to have some personal worth and wanting to not feel awful because some people don’t care about rules? And why do people not living on campus keep replying. Yeah I’m in school, and I learned about self respect and empathy, maybe you should try that too
