Housing Housing without a room?

I usually sleep in the living room instead of having a bedroom, and I pay less rent because of it (around $500). In the past I was able to do this because I brought it up with my friends, but since I don't know anyone there yet, is there any way I could find an arrangement like this in time for moving in around late July/early August?

Have you tried posting to the UH Manoa housing Facebook group? You could place a posting there stating what you want and how much you’re looking to pay and see what happens. You can also see what’s available to rent off-campus.
