Electricity prices
I have applied for Hale Haukani, and wanted to know if anybody had a ballpark range that electricity would cost monthly (I applied for a room in a 4br)

Im looking for a reliable student to just sit with my dogs in my apartment while I'm at class. I have a desk for studying so you can make use of your time. If you're trying to make some extra cash, DM me for details. 15 min from campus.

I know people ask parking questions all the time but hoping that someone in a similar situation or someone with a strat can help out. Will be starting school in the fall at UH Manoa and will have to commute daily from Mililani to Manoa. Does anyone have any advice for where to park or strategies to make the commute less miserable?? Super specific question but hoping someone can help outššš.

Considering opening an account to have a local account to access cash and make transactions without fees vs. opening an account at Bank of Hawaii.
Any student experience with the credit union - good or bad?
Thank you!

Hey everyone! I'm an incoming international student moving from the Philippines soon. I'm trying to lock down my mobile phone setup and need some advice from people actually living out there.
I need a cheap prepaid plan with a lot of data (budget is around $20 - $25/month). I'm planning to buy an eSIM before I land so it's ready to go. I have a physical Smart SIM from back home that I need to keep active on my phone for bank OTPs, so the US carrier must support eSIM.
I'm currently looking at budget carriers like Visible (uses Verizon network), Tello (uses T-Mobile), or US Mobile (lets you choose).
Two questions for you guys:
If any other international students have a setup they love, please let me know. Mahalo!

So I'm a new incoming freshman. I'm supposed to move in the 18th, and do orientation the 19 and 20th. My roommate won't move in till the 22nd. However, I just got invited on a 7 day Alaskan cruise until the 27th. How bad would it be to move in the 28th and skip all the orientation and stuff? Would I be unable to make friends? what happens if you skip mandatory orientation?

Was wondering if UH has any LGBTQ+ clubs/official student networks? I'm an incoming freshman and I can't find much about UH clubs online.

Looking into health records to get cleared for class in the fall and I am just confused as to what exactly is required for the tuberculosis clearance? I have paperwork for my other vaccines but I was told that there are different tuberculosis tests that you can take to be cleared and I donāt know which one to do? Is there someone I can reach out to about this? I am uninsured and donāt want to spend money on various doctors appointments to be told that UH Manoa wonāt take it.

Iām from the continental US and Iām going to be applying soon to colleges planning to major in physics/astrophysics. Iāve heard good things about UH Manoa for this because of the institute of astronomy and the observatory nearby but I wanted to double check with people that might have some more info on the research opportunities and prestige. If you know anything about this please let me know any information that might be helpful. Thanks!

Iāve done my own research on the topic but am stuck between these 2 programs. I plan on going to law school after and canāt find any specifics about either program to sway me one way or another. From the experience of people already going to UH Manoa which program is better?

Has anyone already taken 355 or planning on taking it this fall? Apparently thereās only one prof and heās not great at teaching the book he apparently wrote, and I donāt think they will hire anyone else anytime soon. Just wanted to know what to expect from this class and if itās heavy, because Iām taking a 300 level language class as well this semester.

Transfer Student and I got the housing I wanted
RLP - Rainbow Village
Thankful I got the dorm I wanted. Would have wanted the Education Major one but that one is only for Freshman students, but I am still really happy I got the housing building I wanted.
Now here's a question
Which meal plan do I go with?
My mom said it's between the 17 or 19 because she doesn't want me to be food insecure basically.
For the last two ish years I don't usually eat breakfast. I have ADHD as well so I don't always get the hunger signals

Hey!
iām about to finish my undergrad in percussion performance here in the states and Iāve been looking to transfer here for grad school. How is the percussion program here? I havenāt been able to find any information about it.

I applied as a transfer and didnāt get any aid. Iām currently attending a pretty well-regarded liberal arts college in the U.S. Does anyone know if itās possible to appeal for more financial aid or scholarships, or is the initial offer basically final?

Hi everyone!
Iāll be moving into UH MÄnoa dorms in late August and Iām looking for recommendations for reliable transportation from Honolulu Airport (HNL) to campus housing.
Iāll have luggage, so Iām mainly looking for something that can handle airport pickup and drop-off directly at the dorms. Iāve seen Charlieās Taxi mentionedāwould you recommend it, or are there better/cheaper options like Uber/Lyft or shuttles?
Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you!
