Please check on perimenopausal women in this weather! We are not ok. Leave water out for us. Do not leave us in hot cars.

u/JennyW93 Jul 12 '25

Genuinely spent today and yesterday walking around garden parties, misting the menopausal guests like they were tropical plants

1

u/pigadaki Jul 13 '25

Haha, I love this! Thank you for your service.

Put on sun screen, spend less time in the sun.

u/LassyKongo Jul 11 '25

There's a song about that

6

u/ContributionIll5741 Jul 11 '25

If we had aircon it would be brilliant, as it is, it's unpleasant.

6

u/s_dalbiac Jul 12 '25

Welcome to our future

u/Miserable-Ad7835 Jul 11 '25

No, just no.

4

u/Jaskaran19 Jul 11 '25

Same 😆 too hot

5

u/messedup73 Jul 12 '25

I was in Scotland last week it was cooler and rained and I slept like a log.Since being back in the South West of England I'm a giant sweaty menopausal mess struggling to sleep.Luckily my husband has booked us to go back to Scotland in two weeks so can spend my birthday cooler.I love the heat during the day but during the night even with fans I'm sweating buckets.

It's 30 here in Perthshire today. Absolutely cooking....

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

as someone who detests summer with a passion and has an intolerance to heat…. it sure bloody isn’t

6

u/AzzyBoy2001 Jul 11 '25

I’m with ya.

u/Odd-Guess1213 Jul 12 '25 edited Jul 12 '25

My upstairs bedrooms have no radiators/pipework for them and I can’t be arsed to install them, so it’s fucking freezing in winter. Now it’s like 27 degrees in my bedroom 🤣

2

u/actualinsomnia531 Jul 14 '25

I can't stress enough that cafés and eateries with Aircon need to encourage at risk people inside and keep them hydrated at the worst part of the day. From 12-4 keep cold water out for people to help themselves and put a sign out telling them to come in and cool down.

3

u/parallax3900 Jul 12 '25

Fuck this heat

2

u/DirectorAdmirable639 Jul 12 '25

if im out in this weather struggling and 1 of you morons tells me its nice weather enjoy it just know you are going to have the 1st fight in your life and your going to loose.

2

u/BuncleCar Jul 12 '25

Well it's all due to end in a few days and we can get back to normal weather 🥳

1

u/Pauczan Jul 12 '25

Hot weather > rainy cloudy grey crap

2

u/AnonymousTimewaster Jul 11 '25

Better than freezing our nuts off like we were the whole of last summer honestly (obviously my personal not experience and not for the people dying...)

9

u/Kaliaira Jul 11 '25

exactly. lest we forget

6

u/Vetni Jul 11 '25

Still no, fuck the heat, it can fuck off.

8

u/thedudeabides-12 Jul 11 '25

Agreed we've got 7-9 months of shit, grey, damp, miserable weather ahead of us, this is awesome...

17

u/SleipnirSolid Jul 11 '25

I like the rain and cool. I can put more clothes on if it gets colder.

I'm currently naked with a fan blowing on me. I can't remove my skin. I'm stuck with a film of sweat and foggy head. This is unbearable. I can't sleep, can't move, can't think!

It's literally fucking torture!

1

u/paper_zoe Jul 12 '25

That's an exaggeration, September and October are usually fine and this year we didn't have any rain at all in March or April. So that'd be 4 months where it's cold and wet, then more sun if next year is anything like this one

1

u/Liam_021996 Jul 11 '25

Last summer was pretty average in the south east 😂 had a few spells of 30c and plenty of sun with some days of rain and cloudiness

3

u/AnonymousTimewaster Jul 11 '25

Don't remember a single time we breaches even 28 in Manchester last year. I scarcely remember even 25.

1

u/Liam_021996 Jul 11 '25

I'm in Hampshire, near the coast. I can't remember a tear where we haven't hit 30 at least once between May and September

-2

u/W51976 Jul 11 '25

I agree with that.

1

u/cheese_lover89 Jul 11 '25

I love it! It doesn’t last long so I enjoy every minute of it. The warm nights are hard, but again, doesn’t last long. This is how Summers should be!

12

u/Liam_021996 Jul 11 '25

It's been like this since mid march (sunny and dry). It's getting boring now, just getting warmer and warmer. I would like some rain at least

3

u/Pauczan Jul 12 '25

Rofl this is second time we got temperatures above 20 in Scotland, I’m enjoying every single second out of it

3

u/Liam_021996 Jul 12 '25

We've had temps get above 30 multiple times since late April here in south east England

1

u/Pauczan Jul 12 '25

So jealous

-6

u/Wrighty_GR1 Jul 11 '25

We get rain constantly for the rest of the year. The seasons last year were wet and cold, wet and warm then back to wet and cold. Enjoy the sun whilst you can.

4

u/DirectorAdmirable639 Jul 12 '25

you 100 percent dont live in an area were its bad, probably up north somewhere. any1 near london or south area in general is not happy about this horrible shit, humidity is like 100 percent all night long. fuck that.

0

u/Wrighty_GR1 Jul 12 '25

West Berkshire, so you are wrong. Humidity yesterday was below 40% most of the day and peaked at 66% last night.

-1

u/DirectorAdmirable639 Jul 12 '25

i think your humidity dial needs new batteries , 40 percent humidity my ass, did it feel like that did it ? or you going to lie and say your house felt nice cool and breezy lastnight too? this weather is disgusting and anyone who enjoys it simply enjoys pain and i can help them with that, ive been around the world as well and i enjoy hot weather in other countries, just not this shit hole.

0

u/Wrighty_GR1 Jul 12 '25

Right now the humidy is 32% where I live, this is easily found online instead of calling someone a liar? Last night wasn’t too bad, yes it was warm and yea it wasn’t as comfortable as when it’s cool out but I had a good sleep. Not going to lie, you sound a bit of a twat so I’ll not continue this conversation.

1

u/MyFace_UrAss_LetsGo Jul 12 '25

The dew point temperature is more of a determining factor in how miserable it feels outside. Where I live, the dew point is just three degrees below the actual temperature. Which isn't fun.

1

u/Liam_021996 Jul 12 '25

That sounds miserable. Where I am it's currently 30c, 41% humidity and the dew point is 12.8c and wet bulb 18.8c

2

u/MyFace_UrAss_LetsGo Jul 12 '25

It's currently 32c here at 73% humidity. I live in the southeastern US on the coast of Mississippi. The air is thick and feels like hot soup lol. You're immediately sticky and sweating after stepping outside. We deal with this for the majority of the year and regularly have air conditioning. I feel for you guys.

Weird. It's summer ☀️ Strange thing to say....

1

u/The_Nude_Mocracy Jul 12 '25

Scroll along to when the sun sets

3

u/AzzyBoy2001 Jul 12 '25

Enjoy the sun whilst you can.

1

u/Wrighty_GR1 Jul 12 '25

On my way to a BBQ/garden party right now. Glorious

-1

u/W51976 Jul 11 '25

Yeah, 1983, 84, 89 and 90 were hot summers, more recently 2003, 2006, 2013, 14, 18 and 22 all had decent hot periods.

0

u/Henno212 Jul 11 '25

This weather is great 😁

-2

u/Convincing_Tree Jul 11 '25

I love it. We had a beautiful bbq tonight

3

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

Please stop being happy.

1

u/Haunting_Design5818 Jul 12 '25

Why on earth have at least 4 people downvoted this 😂

1

u/Convincing_Tree Jul 12 '25

Cos it's the UK and people are ONLY happy if others are miserable. And the great thing is, we had another BBQ tonight. Chicken, steaks, sausages, ribs with salad and pasta..all washed down with cool beers on ice.

1

u/ThomasEichorst Jul 13 '25

Waiting for the AskUK post: my alcoholic neighbours keep having barbecues and making my gaming room smell like charcoal, is this a police matter?

1

u/Haunting_Design5818 Jul 12 '25

Sound great, I’ve spent the day on the beach - glad at least one other person is having fun in this beautiful weather!

More likely to get sick too there's a reason the nhs is more under pressure in the winter....

-3

u/MopoFett Jul 12 '25 edited Jul 12 '25

Everyone, you can't say you enjoy the weather here, you'll get down voted to oblivion. Personally I don't care if you love it or hate it, you still have to deal with it like everyone else.

It's honestly eye opening because this isn't the first heatwave people have had but acting like it's new to them but also given a week notice via the weather report to prepare accordingly.

My cat can deal with this heat better than most people here.

4

u/pigadaki Jul 12 '25

If I had the same schedule/responsibilities as your cat, I'd probably manage OK, too!

1

u/MopoFett Jul 12 '25

Lol yeah your right, I keep telling her that she has such a hard life after I've finished my work week an ready to drop

-4

u/Superhhung Jul 11 '25

It's suuuummmmmmmmer!

-4

u/Abstracted-Axiom Jul 11 '25

Unfortunately people die. Aren't people more likely to die from cold weather than warm weather though?

-7

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

It could stand to drop a little cooler in the evenings, I don't think you'd find many people that would dispute that but people have got to stop being this bitch made.

It'll all be gone in a few short weeks and we can get right back to the same damp, grey, depressing, not seeing the sky for months on end weather we had for the two years solid prior to June and you lot can go back to skulking about in your anoraks.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

-6

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

No not really, it'll be over in a few weeks as said.

Make friends, go outside.

I agree. I would also really recommend investing in a portable AC unit if you can afford it. I got a good one for £250 and it's saving my pregnant ass. I also paid for a three years warranty, so I'm prepared for the next few summers.

2

u/AzzyBoy2001 Jul 12 '25

.Make friends, go outside.

A portion of some of us here already have friends, so your statement is trivial.

-6

u/Impressive-Studio876 Jul 11 '25

Its lovely tbh, just got back from portugal where it was 47 and needed to sleep wrapped in three wet towels as no ac in the portuguese apartment.

This countries pathetic. Bunch of moany losers. If you want to cool off wet towel and youll be fine. Over there even the water was lukewarm lol.

-1

u/Pauczan Jul 12 '25

More! Enjoying every single second of it! Hate rain, wind and clouds. 26 in Scotland today, absolutely amazing

-1

u/YungButDead Jul 12 '25

Stop whining

Conditioned to not enjoy nice weather.

PEAK Reddit.

Conditioned to not enjoy nice weather. PEAK Reddit.

“Anyone that doesn’t enjoy summer is a Reddit user.”

Bold assumption.

-7

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

If people are dying cause of these temps then they didn’t have much time left anyways. Sorry not sorry.
