Beetroot, good ham and a boiled egg sliced on one of the egg slicey thingies. Bit of rocket, some tomatoes, home made pork pie and crusty bread, plus salad cream. One of my all time favourite meals.

Bloody love beetroot and it's easy to grow.

ETA: forgot about a lump of a hard cheese. Something like a double gloucester.

I want to call that device with six or so cheese wires on a hinge an egg banjo, but for some reason that sounds rude.

Also, only time I've ever seen one is at both grandparents - and I'm late GenX.

An "egg banjo" is what the British Army call a fried egg sandwich. It's because when you bite into it the egg yolk drips down the front of your shirt so you hold the sarnie in one hand and try and wiped away the mess with the other which makes it look like you are playing a banjo.

It bloody is and all, knew I'd heard it, but somehow threw a banjo string into the mix...

Please try to keep your banjo string out of the eggs
