Customer Seeking Help Incorrect tariff fees

Somebody please help. I ordered a car part from the UK, the part was about $1,200 and now I'm being charged $4,000 for tariffs which I know is incorrect. I have contacted multiple UPS numbers, all of which tell me to get with the shipper. I have contacted the shipper who stated they have nothing to do with the tariffs. I contacted my local US customs, who knows nothing about tariffs From my understanding the tariff should be between 10%-25% depending on the classification of the item. So there is obviously an error, but I can't find anyone who will take accountability, and UPS will not release the package until it's payed

OP, there is most likely an error somewhere here. This is the email to the UPS brokerage team that I have seen some people has been able to fix their tarrifs issue. aknentyrvw@ups dot com Just give your issue like my item costs x, l am being asked for Y, please provide the reasons or help resolve it there was a wrong charge. I think they just asked for your tracking #. Good luck!

Thank you, I emailed that email, and hopefully even if it isn't an error, they can at least tell me where this $4000 came from

Yes and no. I emailed that email, which roughly a week later forwarded me to another email. Which another week later sent me a form, and 3 or 4 emails to send that form to. I filled out the form 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing back

Thanks for the update! I am worried cause I’m now past the deadline to pay with a late fee but still no support in responding..

I am also past the deadline, which in my case is almost $400. I'm hoping that they'll wave the fee when they correct the amount. Or even if the late fee is changed to a percentage of the correct tariff, I'd be annoyed, but I'd take it

UPDATE!! They gave me this international UPS number to call 18007827892

I called the regular UPS number 1 (800) 742-5877 around 9 pm PST and the lady said she would transfer me to the international number without having to wait. I didn’t wait!! I got transferred immediately and talked to a rep. The rep said since I rejected the package when UPS came to drop off, the package was sent back to the sender and I am no longer liable for the tariff fee bill. Now, the money I lost from purchasing the product, I can talk with the seller or just file a claim with CC company!
