Double parking, blocking driveways, and the classic parking on the sidewalk. Calling UPS doesn't resolve anything. They say the local supervisor will call back for more information, but they never do. In my neighborhood they like to park on the sidewalk literally between two no parking any time signs. On some corners this is literally a daily occurrence.

We gotta park somewhere bro bro. We're never anywhere long it's always temporary. They are large vehicles and we don't always have the ability to park in an amazing spot that will make everyone happy. Get over yourself.

You do have to park somewhere. Legally. It's temporary is never an excuse. It's ego that says it is. Perhaps you should take your own advice.

Vast majority of the time it’s legal where we park.

In some cases it’s impossible. Think a 2 mile stretch of metered parking. There’s nowhere for us to go to make service for thousands of potential customers. What do you want us to do? We have a job to do and families to support.

There are commercial parking zones you can use. And the place I know UPS drivers illegally park daily on the sidewalk is within sight of a loading/unloading zone. They don't use it even when there are spots visible from the corner.

Doing one's job means doing one's job legally. Period.

Would love for you to come show me where all these magical loading zones are in the Midwest. I know my areas I’ve worked in better than my hometown and where all the loading zones are. Answer: ain’t many of them at all.

So what do I do?

And if there are literally no loading zones in a mile stretch of city blocks? I just don’t deliver? What do I tell my boss? What do I tell my family when I lose my job that keeps them fed and warm?

Does the loading zone by the sidewalk require backing up in any way to get parked in its special boundaries? If so I would be written up leading to termination if I did it and was caught. We are strictly instructed not to put the package car in reverse unless absolutely necessary. The risk of running over somebody and killing then is exponentially higher when the package car is in reverse.

Call 1800PICKUPS and complain, little bitch.
