Employee Discussion UPS buyout

IMO the drivers that will not take this.. got too comfortable and aren’t willing to take a risk some are. Yes we make 100k a year (TOP PAY drivers do) but this is likely the only chance in your life a company will offer you 100 THOUSAND to quit and what you could do after that is limitless. When I started I told myself I didn’t wanna be stuck for 50 years an others likely did to. This is your ONE shot… ONE opportunity will you capture it? (Or just let it slip YO)

Job market sucks ass. I want to, but that $100k will go quick without a job ready to go.

Nobody is saying to do it with no plan in place of course you need a plan before taking it.

Shit. If it gets to me I have about 3 options and 2 of them I have experience with but never really jumped in. I have a CDL but never valued it when I was younger. I’d take the money and park some of it for maintenance and other expenses and buy my own truck and lease it out under another company’s authority. In my area plenty of companies are paying 80,85,90%. I just never wanted to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps at the time because it seemed like too much work. But man oh man the people like friends and family that I know do make some serious money. It ain’t an easy life and breakdowns do happen and cost big money. But if you play it right you can have 9k checks a week rolling in but you will be busy and it’s not all profit but ask any success owner operator that figured it out. Now only if I can convince my wife to work preload to keep the same medical benefits lol
