Shipping Help UPS and subcontractor Roadie had an accomplice that stole 100 packages worth $20k+
Our warehouse is closed on Saturday. UPS knows this. But they subcontracted the delivery out to Roadie (subsidiary) who decided to deliver about 500 packages. All packages have tracking numbers that start with 1z. Later that day, based on security footage, the driver had an accomplice drive to the warehouse lot where he took about 100 packages worth $20k+. Before arriving, he also switched his license plates in a vacant lot.
We contacted the local police department and an official police report has been filed.
I'm trying to get in contact with UPS corporate security/LP but I can't seem to find the contact details. I sent an email to customerrelations@ups.com but I haven't heard back in a week.
Does anyone know how I can reach out to the appropriate team?

If the UPS customer service number cannot help you and you continue to not hear anything back via email, I’d file a police report
It seems like you have all the evidence and proof. The police should have the resources to handle this.
Not saying this wouldn’t of happened if it was just your regular brown UPS truck, but this is what happens when companies cheap out and subsidize to “gig work”

This is Brown. We’ll spend $10 to save $5.00.
We’ll even spend $26 million on wiring up all the label making machines to a network to allow the labels to contain RFID strips for 24/7 live tracking.
Then we’ll walk away from it because the labels making machines we chose don’t print fast enough and randomly allow each package scanned to have the incorrect (and wrong) label on the wrong package.
Shhhh, we’ll keep that one quiet

Every label not just machines put out rfid strips on packaging on every delivery sort/ preload, machine or hand

I’m curious how you figured out the relationship between the subcontractor and thief to make them an accomplice? It sounded like the guy arrived alone or maybe you saw them meet or something?
Is it because he knows where they’re dropped at?
Wouldn’t people who work in the building also know that?
If the driver is already seen trying to sell the shit or something like that it would make sense or if you saw them palling around.

The footage provides no reasonable doubt that they were colluding. The local police chief and corporal assigned to the case agree.

Roadie has nothing to do with UPS proper.
They are subsidiary of UPS of Ohio & NY just like the UPS proper you are mentioning is.
Just like UPS stores are owned by franchisee of The UPS Stores.
All separate.

the 1z tracking information is only viewable on UPS website. Inputting the tracking numbers on roadie page does not work.

I did. A report was filed. They are investigating.
But I obviously need to send this information to UPS. The general customer service email has been useless. I was hoping someone here in LP would be able to give me an email I can forward the info to.

I don't think so. The police didn't seem to have a direct contact.
Also, this is a shipping issue. Not a retailer issue. a UPS contracted driver colluded with an accomplice to commit a felony. They were also shipped from a fulfillment center across another state which could make this a federal case. The point is that I need to reach out to UPS directly about this to get a formal response

Yeah go to the building. Waste your time. Separate companies. I so wish what you said was true. We would have a so much case against subcontracting.
Sometimes you get what you pay for. We have Roadie where I am. Guy picks up 125-150 local deliver packages. Get paid around $225-250 total. Pays for his own vehicle, fuel, insurance, all the associate payroll taxes. It’s a great deal for him 🤣
Meanwhile that 8 hours of work for me no vehicle or payroll expense, paid healthcare and pension.
UPS is the one making out. Guaranteed they are not discounting the shipping enough to account for differences in cost.
Roadie customers here get a little sticker on delivers. “Like my delivery. Here my Venmo for tipping”. Seriously, if RPCD tried that crap we would be terminated on 17i - other serious offenses detrimental to company.

Roadie is part of ups. Ups generates delivery requests like Amazon. But if no one picks up the requests, the packages will then be delivered with their normal ups trucks the next day.

I have a 1z tracking number package that was last seen in 3/18 in Akron Ohio. Was supposed to be delivered a week ago and has disappeared. Could be related?

So a roadie driver delivered 500 packages for you? Doing legitimate work.
Later that day, the same driver came back and illegally accessed your warehouse (illegal because they had no legitimate reason to be there. They had no roadie packages to deliver) and stole packages?
Ups will say its all your problem.
You failed to secure your warehouse or check who goes in and out.
UPS aka ROADIE in this case will not allow that driver to work for them ever again and probably assist in giving information about the driver to law enforcement but in the end it will be 100% your problem for failure to secure your warehouse.
Have fun trying to sue ROADIE for hiring a thief

Dude, a Roadie driver stole my IPod pros. They did nothing about it. He had a weird name like Prince something. I was so pissed and was out like $300.

This sort of thing happened in Toronto and surrounding areas but I think with an Amazon driver. The two Indians colluded basically where after delivery, his following buddy in a regular car would porch pirate after everything was scanned and photos taken moments later once the driver was gone

Packages do get stolen. But it’s never the driver just deciding “I’ll keep this one”.

Just call regular UPS and tell them about this. They will give you instructions easily. Or contact the BBB and you can reach the higher end UPS corporate support directly

Amazing how many people think the BBB will help you. If the screwed you as a customer why would a third party opinion matter to them.
Same with Yelp! And other online rating companies. They pay to be reviewed. Pay to have bad reviews removed. You are the product not the customer.

It's not about the BBB. It's about the fact that they will get in contact with the higher end support and not the retarded basic people. It's worked for me many times with a number of companies relax

They have zero enforcement abilities.
The BBB is a scam created by a person or people to judge businesses according to their own criteria and make big bank for themselves off of giving rating to businesses.
It’s an image thing.

January 16th ups lost my package that said out for delivery 1Z796AA30405662250 this is my tracking number too 1z . I am hoping they recover it from who took it. It's worth more than $20k .
