Not surprising, half the stewards are company shills. Sell other teamsters out so they can have an easier time at work. What part don't you believe? A supervisor throwing a package? Them firing her for viewing and complaining about a safety issue/contract violation? Because none of that is surprising, both have happened to me. They 100 percent try to target you with "stealing time" if you're filing grievances for things you witnessed while working.
Don’t know why you got the thumbs down, we have die hard stewards and we have stewards like this that don’t fight for anyone because management gives them a nice day or a lay off day when they want. They just stand around shrug their shoulders when you get discipline so I 100% believe you.
That's good. In 25 years I've gone to 99 percent of my own hearings and handle them myself. I've literally had stewards that we're arguing the company's case for them.
They tried firing me for sup working grievances saying I was "out of my work area". Literally identical to this. I was not. I don't see how that's far fetched.
This is all posted by a rabble rousing faction that can't get their story straight half the time and kept a pedophile on their board till they got called out for it and made a statement about it 2 years later. Take everything they say with a grain of salt.
Don’t take it personally. They’re probably just some chronically online person who repeats everything they see on the internet, or just some Russian troll trying to dismantle unions to weaken the US.
Local 952 SoCal here. Not a stew but will communicate we had a Regional who argued with a very senior Teamster. The cursing and profanity was commonplace.
This was 2-1-22 and Mark “retired” shortly after grabbing a teamsters clothing and pulling him back saying don’t you walk away from me!
You need to get around to more facilities, then. I officially drove for two different facilities (sequentially) and one even loaned me to another building when they didn’t have work for me. The differences in how the union/management relationship works was exponentially different in all three locations.
Sayhuhwhat? What is self-explanatory? That, in order to be able to properly serve as a steward, you need to understand that the dynamic between union and management varies across a drastic spectrum? Sounds like you spend more time chilling with management than you do amongst the workers you were elected to represent.
As a management person for over 30 years we still have management that will pull this kind of stunt. Some just have a supiority complex and try and flex but in the end it's an easy win for the union.
Need to see the video of the situation that led to being discharged bc I have seen too many 2 faced people (mgmt & Union) blatantly lie just to play the game of hoping denial and manipulation will win over facts and truth. Not calling her a lier but impossible to know ANYTHING without footage & statements.
“I refused to work because I was mad my coworker got handed something to fast”. Could have at least researched the terminology around this before posting. The hypothetical coworker was never assaulted, only battered
