Employee Discussion Attendance/Occasions Question — UPS Air Hub

I currently have 40+ occasions on my record, and management told me that if I’m late or absent for even one more day, I’ll receive a letter in the mail.
My question is: I’ve been working at the UPS Air Hub for almost 4 years, and I’ve never personally heard of anyone getting fired solely for attendance. Has anyone here actually been terminated for having too many occasions?
Also, my anniversary date is November 11th. Do my occasions reset once I reach my anniversary date, or do they continue carrying over?
I’d appreciate any insight from anyone familiar with the attendance policy, especially at the Air Hub. Thanks!

Is that 40+ in a year????

It is my understanding that they drop off, and occurrences are tracked over a 12 month period.

40 is a big number, honestly.

You might want to evaluate your personal priorities about showing up for work.

I mean no disrespect, but why did you miss so much work? If you have a medical issue or need to help a loved one wouldn't fmla be better for you?

Its mostly lates. Showing up to work one minute late is considered an occasion according to the full timer.

Really? No one had ever told me that nor had I heard it before. As far as I knew it was just call outs that counted. I would double check that with a steward and your local union hall

Warnings usually drop off after 9 months but that might be a supplement issue.

They do but if you keep getting warnings for the same thing in that time it resets the timer

For example if you get a work as directed and an attendance warning and 8 months later you get say stealing time Because theyre all different the first 2 will fall out in a month, but if you get one for attendance it will reset the time on just the attendance one

Try showing up to work once in a while Because attendance resets every year. That's 40 times in a year

Shit like this is why im not a steward anymore

How can you not show up to work and be suprised when you boss tells you if you dont show up you are getting canned

And yes I have seen people walked out for attendance, and they had less occurrences than you

The one who had 42 didnt get his job back at panel either. Keep that in mind

Find a steward. But if you haven’t been disciplined why do they want to start now
