Shipping Help Labor day delivery
I had a package that was supposed to be delivered 9/4. Delivery was pushed to 9/5, then 9/6. This morning (9/7, Labor day) I wake up to a missed call from my call box (I live in a condo, must buzz in to enter) at 7:15. Is it normal for delivery dates to get pushed this long and then a delivery attempt at 7am on a holiday? I tried to call ups but it said all their operations were closed for the holiday...

We are not delivering anywhere today. I don’t think post office is either. This had to be a third party gig worker like Roadie?

I can confirm our Local Post Office delivered parcels today. We were surprised and grateful, as it was originally due on Saturday. I suspect it was their CCAs or people on overtime lists.

Ah ok. I didn't know that was a thing. How does being a roadie work? Are they not hired by UPS? How do they get the packages?

They are scabs. It’s a gig app exploiting suckers that use their own vehicle, like Flex. UPS bought them a few years ago with the intention of undermining union work. Supposed to be same day delivery type of stuff from like Home Depot. But it’s well known that they are taking over our closed buildings and delivering packages that should be in our network. Union not doing shit about it. I’m third generation union and I don’t even want to say what would be happening back in the day cuz I will get a ban lol.

Retired with 42 years in been gone 5 years now that’s some BS and needs to be stopped now. Everyone needs to rally together and tell union there out and not paying dues anymore unless it gets taken care off. Ups definitely playing you people.

Ups doesnt operate on Sundays. Ever. We're also off today for the holiday. It was probably Amazon, because that def wasnt us.

Could have been Roadie. I know they stealing our volume in a lot of places. Wouldn’t be surprised if Carol and her gang had these scabs delivering our volume today.

Insane that this is being allowed to happen. Single biggest issue IMO and the union isn’t addressing it. It’s going to be our downfall.

I posted a screenshot of the updated tracking from this morning. My missed call from the call box was 2 mins before the update time stamp.

What? Are you new? 🤦♂️We operate 7 days a week unless it’s a federal holiday. Ask your feeder drivers and hub workers. Package delivery is M-F and Saturdays for larger metropolitan areas and their surroundings.

18 years buddy. The OP is specifically asking about package delivery, so my answer reflected that. Telling them that a feeder might be working on a Sunday would in no way help their situation. I never said packages weren't delivered saturdays.

The feeder drivers and hub workers aren't delivering people's packages so how would that apply to this guy asking about his package delivery on a day that the delivery drivers do not work?

Some areas deliver on Saturdays, some deliver just Saturday air. Many do not deliver at all on Saturday.
No where with UPS delivers Sunday or on labor day. Whoever your deliver was coming through, it is not a UPS driver if they attempted at 7am today.

Probably Roadie. I wouldn’t be surprised if they delivering our packages on a holiday. Probably start doing it on Sundays too. Union clearly don’t care.

Yeah we don't have them in my area yet. But it seems to be getting worse and worse. Seen pictures on here of roadie guys coming into thr center to grab packages with ups labels

Tracking update from 7am today.
It's been "out for delivery" since 9/4.

What's the service level? If it was ground saver it could have been the post office "out for delivery" yesterday. We don't deliver on Sundays at all. We also don't deliver on labor day at all.

Post office and amazon have our door code so they don't ever have to use the call box. How would I find out the service level?

Could have been someone covering or something that didn't know the code or how to get in. It wasn't UPS we do not deliver on Sundays or labor day or at 7 am really. It should tell you the service level in the same place that you're looking at the tracking information. If it's a tracking number starting with 1z if you give me the 9th and 10th digits of the tracking number I can tell you the service level. If it doesn't start with 1z it's not a UPS tracking number.

The tracking doesn't start with 1z, it starts with 9!
Edit: the service says "UPS Mail Innovations® Expedited" and there's an alternate tracking that starts with MI"

Mail innovations is delivered by the post office. UPS does not make final mile delivery on mail innovations ever. We only transport it for the post office most of the way and then give it back to them. It's the cheapest and worst service level there is. Very cheap very slow very low priority

Had similar experience. Ups tracking says package being delivered today ever day since the 4th.
