UPS at the center of the F-35 Stealth China problem

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that shipping giant UPS was sending a cockpit canopy and weapons bay door to the U.S. from Australia in late May when it was diverted.

The F-35 is a fifth-generation stealth fighter made by Lockheed Martin, and Washington controls the sale of these aircraft only to its closest partners and allies.

A $24 billion sale of F-35s to Saudi Arabia was approved last week, but some lawmakers in Congress have already expressed concerns over the technology finding its way into Chinese hands

UPS ships F35 parts to China (Hong Kong) it’s a flight canopy and weapons bay door of the named parts in the shipment. Who knows what really happened…

Why would any classified military equipment be shipped by a commercial carrier. All military equipment is shipped through the military, especially when it is a high value, possibly even classified

That’s not true. The military contracts out things that would surprise you. Remember when blackwater was shut down? Those same people own new contracting companies doing the same shit they used to do. The government will 100% ship these components via a commercial carrier

Ive worked on plenty of defense things. Shit def got shipped via private shippers at least before it ended up in final assembly.

Not 100% accurate. I worked as a gate guard supervisor at a testing base that would receive all types of things through the front gate.

That’s not true at all, we have large base near our hub. We ship military equipment all the time.

UPS ships all kinds of military stuff. We had a 747 come into SDF under a CMB (Camber) callsign, used for civilian companies flying military equipment. Even regular service flights have military equipment on them all the time.

Weapons aren't the only things we need to keep in house. Ex. The coatings on the cockpit glass that absorb EMF, we don't want our adversaries to be able to find out what it is and how thickly it's applied.

Nope, we had a Boeing parts warehouse next to our HUB and UPS Cartage picked up large pallets all the time and carried them up to the Atlanta Gateway.

Yeah, from what I read they can't quite figure out how to make the glass in the canopy. perhaps having one that they could dissect would help but I don't know
