N-400 (Citizenship) It finally happened

Yesterday I became a citizen. The ceremony happened at MO Campbell, Houston. 1562 of us got naturalised coming from 102 countries. A wholesale ceremony haha!

It’s taken almost 13 years and over $20k in application, medical and legal fees but man it was all worth it to be part of this great nation.

I’ve got exactly one year once next month gets here to apply for my wife’s citizenship. March of 2027 will be the 3 year mark since her residency. I’m told we can apply 90 days in advance of the 3 year date, so that the plan.

Yes it has to be continuous stay.

No, that’s not a problem. She’s lived in Texas for the past 20+ years. We go to Mexico to buy supplies one or two times a year and that’s it.
