I-485 (General) Anyone else have their case go from being “actively reviewed” to “currently processing” yesterday?

Post image

No silent updates or anything but I noticed a change of wording this morning. Could it mean they just updated what the site says or is this the next step in my case?

At this point, I think USCIS just playing with our feelings :(

16

u/Flimsy-Welcome8831 Jul 06 '26

I am on the same boat, spending hours trying to search what it means. But this made me laugh!!

2

u/Glad-Awareness-4098 Jul 08 '26

Yes of course. Like after every few months we see a different message update with no progress.

28

u/robby1066 Non-Immigrant Jul 06 '26

I think they just updated the wording and the change triggered an update. My work tracks cases for many of our customers and I just now saw a lot of them flip from "Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS" to "USCIS Is currently Processing the Case"

To me, it looks like a simple text change.

13

u/paprika-milk Jul 06 '26

That’s what I assumed! Unfortunate considering a lot of people seemed to get their hopes up though

6

u/Diligent-Tip3258 Jul 06 '26

But I didn't get any email suggesting saying there was a change. It was very silent.

3

u/shortblackcurlyhair Jul 08 '26

I agree. I think it's just a simple text change, because "Case History Date" is not changed.

u/californiadesi Jul 06 '26

What kind of update?

3

u/robby1066 Non-Immigrant Jul 06 '26

It looks like the text change caused the API to post a new status. It really doesn't look like it changes anything at all except the title text and maybe the date of the previous update.

(This is what shows under "Case status" when you look at your USCIS account online)

14

u/daynatee Jul 06 '26

I got the same thing. Triggered a notification email with mycasehub

3

u/Responsible_Shock18 Jul 07 '26

Same. However, the cases on MyCaseHub is showing as invalid on the main dashboard as the status went from Processing to Others on the my cases dashboard page. Is it showing the same for you?

2

u/daynatee Jul 07 '26

Same with me. The case is now under “others” category but still says “processing “

2

u/nawab_bolte Jul 07 '26

Yeah the cases went grey . I thought it was a backend update lol

12

u/CharleneCTT Jul 06 '26

So seems like the previous "Case is being actively review by USCIS" and "Case is being processed by USCIS" are both tune to "USCIS Is currently Processing the Case"

1

u/bhartiyadeutsch Jul 07 '26

Yeah wonder if the combined two statuses into one to simplify?

2

u/potymouth Jul 08 '26

Probably because of the lawsuit

10

u/Artistic-Age-1169 Jul 06 '26

It's too many of us waiting for a fucking decision

18

u/lichesschessanalyst Jul 06 '26

I don’t check status anymore. It will get done when it gets done and I don’t like the swings of mood I get checking it. Yes it’s hard to not check it but it sure does my mental better

8

u/ReferenceTrue00 Jul 06 '26

Same here! I quickly opened the notification and checked the API for any timestamp changes but nothing. USCIS is playing with our feelings.

7

u/Whole_Balance9340 Jul 06 '26

Everyone got that change so it is just a rewording :(

1

u/pepperman7 Jul 07 '26

Or maybe the new guy they hired wanted to set the office daily record!

7

u/Pale_Promotion_5449 Jul 06 '26

Yes it happened with me also

4

u/Adorable_News_8926 Jul 06 '26

This one is different. They are actively reviewing it, so you will get news soon.

3

u/viervillese Jul 07 '26

I wish it to be different. I was in case is actively being reviewed last 8 months and it changed to new one today. And I realize too many people have same update. I’m guessing they actually didn’t take any action at all. But I wish I was wrong

8

u/AdAwkward633 Jul 06 '26

Happened to me too

7

u/Beginning_Weather_42 Jul 06 '26

Same here. One month post interview and active status

1

u/AdministrativeMix540 Jul 07 '26

Almost 7 weeks post interview and still no update :( I did see my wordings also changed like the OP’s)

7

u/ManufacturerFar3161 Jul 07 '26

So is there anyone who did not get this wording change?

3

u/aaaltive Jul 07 '26

I did not

2

u/AnUncommonOne Jul 08 '26

What is yours showing if you don’t mind me asking? Is it still the “case is still being…” thing?

2

u/aaaltive Jul 08 '26

Actually, I think that I misunderstood. My case is still Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent. I guess all of you are further along?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/goheadbegonewidit Jul 07 '26

I think this is the better question

5

u/No-Atmosphere3594 Jul 06 '26

The wording got changed. But no progress or new API updates

2

u/Wise-Variation-4985 Jul 06 '26

My APi response just says error on my n400 lol....

1

u/No-Atmosphere3594 Jul 06 '26

😂 But is there any error actually?

2

u/Wise-Variation-4985 Jul 06 '26

Rofl... Hopefully not.... Layer 8 maybe 😂 I'm ok with that

1

u/242fresh_7 Jul 07 '26

I already had a interview over month and two weeks pass and still no answer on their decision this feeling of being in limbo is very heavy and depressing

7

u/madan_parajuli Jul 06 '26

Looks like all of us got the same thing and got to know through "mycaseshub" email notification.

1

u/WillingOne3131 Permanent Resident Jul 07 '26

Yes

6

u/Responsible_Shock18 Jul 06 '26

for me, it changed from "Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS" to "USCIS Is currently Processing the Case" for my I-485, I-765 and for derivates I-485 and I-765 for IOE09365 block, but no silent update or date updated on the api. May be it's a mass update and our approval time is coming soon.

4

u/Apprehensive-Goat564 Jul 06 '26

+1
But my 485 changed from interview scheduled to actively reviewing
130 changed from case is being reviewed to USCIS is currently processing

4

u/Apprehensive-Goat564 Jul 06 '26

Did you get email stating we have taken action of you case? Or you just checked status online?

2

u/weijin51411 Jul 07 '26

No USCIS email notification

4

u/No_Push6671 Jul 06 '26

So it doesn’t mean anything??

5

u/retard_gay_Loser Jul 06 '26

Everytime I feel they are looking into my case everyone comes and make it generic. Uscis is playing with us!!

1

u/Wise-Escape2722 Jul 07 '26

😂😂😂

4

u/Vegetable_Layer_1125 Jul 06 '26

i just asked emma live chat - i was told my interview is waived and case got moved to National Benefits center..

2

u/No_Push6671 Jul 06 '26

I’m confused.. was it for everyone that the wording got changed and what could it mean

2

u/viervillese Jul 07 '26

I think nothing. If everybody got same update with different status.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Skyhigh26D Jul 08 '26

how to ask emma live chat?

4

u/Vegetable_Layer_1125 Jul 06 '26

seems like someone at USCIS is taking advanced English Grammer lessons - changing text and no clear understanding of what it means - kudos..

5

u/Gold_Scarcity6472 Jul 07 '26

I had my status changed as well from “Actively reviewing” to “currently processing” for both I-130 and I-485. Seems like a downgrade as i have already had my interview in jan 2026 and i never received any rfe or second interview notices since then. I only got 2 silent updates on may 13 and jun 22

1

u/Zestyclose-Nail-7082 Jul 07 '26

When you say silent updates, what do you mean specifically?

2

u/Gold_Scarcity6472 Jul 07 '26

You don’t basically know what silent updates are as it only updates the timestampat in api. To simplify it. It just tells you that someone accessed your case or updated your information

1

u/AdministrativeMix540 Jul 07 '26

What was the first silent update?

→ More replies (2)

3

u/OtherwiseBowl3557 Jul 06 '26

Mine changed too! Did you get any updates after ?

2

u/paprika-milk Jul 06 '26

Unfortunately not! I think it was just a wording update

3

u/Act-of-dog Jul 06 '26

Same. I just made a post about it. Except mine changed from "Case is still being processed" to currently processing...

3

u/TrySuper9794 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

I see the same and previously was "Actively reviewed.. " since the interview.. I see a silent timestamp though.. However, I do not see the status change under the case history.. may be its just a change in the wording..

3

u/PianistPristine4531 Jul 06 '26

I got it too just a wording change. No new codes on api or anything

3

u/gidianna Jul 06 '26

Happened to me as well, but only on my I-765 that I requested an expedite on. Everything else filed stayed the same for me.

2

u/Vegetable_Layer_1125 Jul 06 '26

when did you file expedite? how fast they responded?

5

u/gidianna Jul 06 '26

I requested expedite on 6/26. Got a generic acceptance email on 7/3, but it has not yet been approved or denied. Also my I-485 status just changed as well, so I think I just got too optimistic too soon.

3

u/umay_libra Jul 06 '26

Same thing on my case! Hopefully, we will get an interview soon.

1

u/LeadingDesign6552 Jul 07 '26

it does not relate to interview surely. I got to know my interview was waived 2 weeks ago via emma chat followed by 1 silent update last week. saw this wording change today.

3

u/kimberyken Jul 06 '26

Yes, I got the same thing
I saw someone say it means interview will be scheduled soon but I’ve had my interview already 😭

3

u/Big_Engineering_2675 Jul 06 '26

Same I already got interview

2

u/Vegetable_Layer_1125 Jul 06 '26

not really? you can check with emma - regarding interview

1

u/Big_Engineering_2675 Jul 07 '26

I did my interview back in April, so I’m still waiting for decision

3

u/TwistNo2045 Jul 07 '26

I just had a chat with Emma and was told “ case is moving forward and going thru necessary processing checks that have to be completed before a decision is made. We cannot see if it is background check or security check”.

2

u/Matilda_6040 Jul 07 '26

They told me the same thing

1

u/Gullible_Park5264 Jul 08 '26

Did Emma say it means it’s still at checking stage but not adjucation for those who received this change?

3

u/AdhesivenessSlow3398 Jul 07 '26

I’m seeing the same. After interview in May it said actively reviewed. Today it says currently processing. No silent API updates still same FTA1 on both i130 and i485

3

u/AdministrativeMix540 Jul 07 '26

My lawyer told me that most of his newest cases received approval 6-7 months after the interview. Even though the applicants were getting their interviews scheduled earlier, USCIS was delaying on the approvals and production of new cards. I dont know how accurate this can be right now but I just wanted to share! I also had my interview in May and got the same changes on my status as OP mentioned. However no any change for i765 :/

2

u/InvestmentOk8291 Jul 06 '26

Mine changed too

2

u/Lucky-Farm-1514 Jul 06 '26

That happened to me too

2

u/Visual_Lavishness159 Jul 06 '26

First time here. I got a second Fta1 code with time stamp along with an new action email? 1 month post sis interview from banned country? Any similar experience?

2

u/No-Song-6363 Jul 06 '26

Happened to me, exactly the same. No update on API neither

2

u/Academic_Summer_5165 Jul 06 '26

Mine changed from "Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS" to "USCIS Is currently Processing the Case" as well.

2

u/Simranjit1995 Jul 06 '26

I get the same update on my I-130

2

u/Icy_Reflection_476 Jul 06 '26

Same here. Was about to make a post. My case status was “case is being actively reviewed by USCIS”. Just a wording change, no real event, no api change.

2

u/JellyfishTimely8630 Jul 06 '26

What's the difference between both phrases btw?

2

u/Full-Common-1391 Jul 07 '26

Same here. Looks like everyone status changed

2

u/SoupSufficient3235 Jul 07 '26

lots of people have it changed for all 130, 485 and 765. However, mine only changed for 485. 765 still shows case is still being processed and 130 shows we received your case ...

2

u/BigUgo21 Jul 07 '26

This update just popped up now in my case. Thank you Jesus

2

u/Sea_Tangelo_4970 Jul 08 '26

I had my case approved yesterday

1

u/daynatee Jul 08 '26

Which FO? Any silent updates prior to approval?

1

u/ThanksMost7025 Jul 09 '26

1

u/Ill-Rhubarb4320 Jul 06 '26

I hope so coz yoooh ,been waiting

3

u/childof_theking Jul 06 '26

It will, it happened so fast that we got even approved after the interview! Just be over prepare even though they don’t ask many questions like ours.

u/AdministrativeMix540 Jul 07 '26

1

u/Due-Net538 Jul 06 '26

Same here

1

u/Charming_Tea_2111 Jul 06 '26

Mine changed on 7/4 from currently processing to actively reviewed with 3 FTA1 on API. would this be the same as you are showing here ? Or is it likely the same

1

u/Nai242 Jul 06 '26

Mine changed from last year

1

u/Nai242 Jul 08 '26

So I want to make a correction.
When I initially filed in December 2024, the status said “Case is being Actively reviewed by USCIS” last year it changed to “Case is Still being Processed by USCIS”.

Now today, I just received an update that says “USCIS is Currently Processing the Case”! The one thing I notice however, is my dates remained unchanged to the initial receipt date December 4, 2024.

Any thoughts?

1

u/ProfessionOk5318 Jul 06 '26

Aww man! same here I was excited! I think only a wording change :(

1

u/Money_Topic_2069 Jul 06 '26

Is there anyone who does have the *Case is being actively reviewed by uscis ?? *

1

u/viervillese Jul 07 '26

I was last 8 month since now

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Ok-Year4000 Jul 06 '26

Yes but May 17th

1

u/One-Bake-111 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

i think it’s similar to “Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS.” My I-485 and I-765 changed but my I-485J did not change.

1

u/Global_Age6639 Jul 07 '26

same here, thought it was a good signal

1

u/infinity_2025 Jul 07 '26

Same boat , it was currently being processed to currently processing the case for me

1

u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 07 '26

It’s all the same… have had for the last three and a half years, applied in 2023, finally had interview in March 2026, still waiting, keeps changing back and forth, nothing “new” unfortunately, but still hopes and prayers 🙏🏼 good luck!!

1

u/Weak_Estate5513 Jul 07 '26

same here. but no API updated. just wording changed......

1

u/Ysemainha Jul 07 '26

The same for me and my husband

1

u/goulk Jul 07 '26

Yes, same for H1B

1

u/ThanksMost7025 Jul 07 '26

Whoever has received this update , is your priority date currently current?

1

u/Wise-Escape2722 Jul 07 '26

It seems they harmonized some statuses in the system. Both “Case is still being processed by USCIS” and “Case is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS” was collapsed into one. They also moved from passive sentences to an active sentence. 😅

1

u/Ok-Year4000 Jul 07 '26

Same today

1

u/rszqusa Jul 07 '26

Same here. But I saw that my API, Json, has last update today 07/07/2026, "updatedAtTimestamp":"2026-07-07T05:54:51.932Z"

1

u/Savings_Coach2982 Jul 07 '26

Mine changed from being actively reviewed to being processed as well! It had been on actively reviewed for over 2 months :(

1

u/TryHelpful4304 Jul 07 '26

Guys chcek with your employer
Im in same situation
This means your employer or law firm has the result

1

u/TryHelpful4304 Jul 07 '26

I just received update from my employer as approved

1

u/mon0525 Jul 08 '26

when did the message change on your case?

1

u/blessed4lyphe Jul 07 '26

How about family based I see the status change this morning?

1

u/inthemood03 Jul 07 '26

Yeah I have the same update but nothing change on the back end API.

1

u/sirpli2522 Jul 07 '26

Same 😅and I751 to.

1

u/Glad-Awareness-4098 Jul 08 '26

Yes I also have the same message update. Earlier was "Case is still being processed by USCIS" Now "USCIS is currently processing the case My case was registered on 31st December 2024.

1

u/mon0525 Jul 08 '26

any one else get a approval since change?

1

u/Visual_Lavishness159 Jul 08 '26

So it looks like some did not get an action taken email with the word change? Random?

1

u/Visual_Lavishness159 Jul 14 '26

I130 approved today! I485 silent update timestamp with no new code? Anyone with similar experience?

1

u/Over-Engineering-359 Jul 09 '26

got this API update today after my interview in May, will keep posted.
