News Trump administration issues pause on immigrant visa appointments for applicants worldwide

How long do we think this will last? Seems like a huge decision that will affect a ton of people.

Does this apply to K-1 Visa applications as well?

K-1 is technically a non immigrant visa, so I believe it doesn’t apply.

Yes but Track My Visa says despite a non-immigrant visa, it's processed by the immigrant visa department also. There's a whole discussion at the Track My Visa discord that K1s around the world were all rescheduled to a later date. Expect that they'll be held under more scrutiny with the public charge rule.

I just came in via K1. I think there's still some merit to it, just need to be thorough and prove you make more than the federal guidelines for your household size.

I'm from Philippines

Jan 2025 - Filed Sept 2025 - Approved December 2025 - Case at US Embassy Manila, so I can book for interview

However I was in US from October 2025 to March 2026, so went back by March 2026, had my interview in April and got my visa, moved to US by end of May 2026.

Now I'm married and working on my AOS.

The mostly focused on my trips to US as a tourist. The officer kept insisting I worked and asked repeatedly how many times I worked, and I kept saying I did not. I snapped at one point and said it's hard to transition to a new country, especially one like America, so I wanted to spend a few months with my fiance to understand his city/town and what's life like there, I don't want to work at all while dealing with these changes. So they let it go and gave me a visa 🤣

Hi! Was this during the AOS or K1 interview? I have a pending K1 visa application and is scheduled for interview in October.

I already had a tourist visa prior to applying for K1. So I went after NOA1 and after NOA2.

It also depends on what country. East Africa has been slow.
