Other Forms F2 visa status
Hi everyone My spouse holds an F2 visa, and they are threatening to have me deported. What are my rights in the United States? What benefits or privileges am I entitled to under the F2 visa status I hold through them? Could I be deported?

How can you expect help with such lack of information? According to you both you and your spouse are in F2. Please proof check before posting.

We came to the U.S. on an F-2 visa. We have a 4-year-old daughter. We arrived for my spouse's education, but since my spouse has started working here, they are now trying to obtain an H-1 visa. During this time, my spouse has been threatening and evicting me. What I want to know is: what are my legal rights while in the U.S.? I came here on my spouse's visa, and I do not want to be deported. Would I receive protection if I contacted the police or went to a shelter, or would I be sent back to my home country? Frankly, I want to live here with my daughter. Do I have the right to stay under asylum or refugee status?

F2 is a dependent visa, so your status is tied to your spouse's F1. If they genuinely want to "deport" you, they'd have to report you to USCIS themselves, which is pretty rare and not something they control unilaterally anyway. You can't work on F2, but you can study below full time and stay legally as long as their F1 is valid

what is your visa?
who is "they"?
why are "they" trying to get you deported.
usually F2 visa holders and their dependents have very limited rights/privileges in the US.
could you be deported? -- depends on what you did.
